Popping in quickly to show you all my new floor lamp! It was a Labor Day steal from Pottery Barn. Lamps were on sale and then there was the Labor Day sale on top of that. Nice! Love it so much. Fun new addition to this space. I have several new family room additions I added over the summer that I’ll share soon! We had friends over for a Labor Day BBQ so before they came I was flying through the house like a mad woman cleaning everything in sight. My husband was his usual helpful self – “There’s a spot on the floor over here babe … I don’t think this pillow is fluffed quite enough…”
Hilarious.
Anyway. Because of my pre Labor Day cleaning frenzy, the house looked good enough on Tuesday morning to snap a few pictures. Good thing I’m a fast photographer because by Tuesday afternoon it looked like a bomb went off in the kitchen. But clean house pics are coming soon! To a blog near you.
p.s. Have you all seen the show Fixer Upper on HGTV? It’s my new favorite.

Love the lamp! And yes, Fixer Upper is my new favorite too. Love the interaction between the couple, he’s always worried about his hair and she is so pretty and talented. I actually watch all of it as opposed to the beginning and end with the DVR! Can’t wait to see more pics.

I love Fixer Upper too. It seems like forever since HGTV has had a great show!
I am in love with , Fixer Up.” I watched 7 episodes in a row that other day. I actually had some down time. Something I never have. I love how they start every show with their kids! I always watch and wait to see the farmhouse tables they decorate with. I am a huge fan.

I wanted to get your thoughts on your countertops in your kitchen. I have white cabinets like you and am planning to replace my countertops soon. Have you had any problems with your white and black quartz. I have heard black is a nightmare to keep clean and shows water marks, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Lacy – I haven’t had any problem at all with mine! I seriously LOVE my quartz countertops. The black quartz (mine are called “Raven” by Caeserstone and are actually a grayish black) DO show a few water spots – especially around the sink faucet where water splashes and drips, but nothing that would make me not want to get them. I just dry the counter after I wipe it off with a wet dishcloth and they are clean. Love them! Hope that helps!
