Happy Friday friends! Today’s favorites post is a little different because instead of sharing lots of favorite things with you, I’m sharing ONE favorite thing with you. But it’s one of my all time favorite things when it comes to home decor. So in some ways.. that counts as lots of favorites, right? :)

These Hyannis Lanterns from PB have become staples at my house! I bought them soon after we moved into our new house three years ago and I thought it might be fun to show you the different ways I’ve used them.
They are perfect shelf decor holding driftwood, soaps and sponges on my master bathroom shelves.

One has a permanent place on my formal living room shelves. Can you see it? Where’s Waldo the lantern? :)

In February they were exactly what I needed to add a touch of Valentine Fun to my formal dining room.
I liked them so much on my table that I kept them around through Spring. From hearts to lemons.. everything looks good in my favorite lanterns!
Last Fall I used both the large and medium lantern on my console table.
They look great holding real or faux flowers OR with a small filler decor inside.
I used the large lantern on my console table again this year. (Btw.. these faux stems were from C&B.. I was just in their store last week and I think they have the best selection of faux botanicals for the holidays!)

Last year when Nov/Dec rolled around my favorite lanterns didn’t move far.. from my console table to my dining nook table.
I didn’t even change out the faux stems! I just switched the Fall acorns and mini pumpkins with red berries and BAM.. Christmas. :)
Quick recap.. 3 reasons why these lanterns are one of my favorite things and I absolutely love them!
1 – They look good everywhere. It doesn’t matter where I put them or what I put inside them (if anything at all). They look good and seem to work in every space in my house.
2 – They make changing decor for the holidays SO easy. Switch out simple seasonal decor and just like that you have a new updated look!
3 – The possibilities are endless! So many different things you can do with these lanterns. I haven’t even put candles in them yet! I’m sure this won’t be the last time you see my Hyannis Lanterns styled one way or another in my home.

And now I’ve added another favorite lantern set to the family! We’ll have to see if I can get my money’s worth out of these like I have the others.
I’m up for the challenge.
;)
p.s. Just a couple more days to get my favorite cleaning supplies for FREE! Make sure to check out this post all about it if you haven’t yet! I love Grove and these free Fall supplies are AH-MAZING.
Word.
I’ve been hanging too much with my pre-teens again, haven’t I?
There are worse things.
I think. ;)
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Those lanterns sure have been workhorses for your decor and they don’t even look tired at all! That is awesome. I think you are also awesome for coming up with so many ways to utilize them. It’s great that they look great anywhere. Oh I hear you on the phrases coming from your preteens. I, um, have to ask on occasion, what my teenagers mean. One common word is “lit.” Used as That is lit. Which means a good thing(I think). Heck my older daughter says Yee (spelled that way to to emphasize the y sound) to say yes regularly. Did you have a good day? Yee. Did you study for your test today? Yee. I guess it’s better than every other word being like or youknow…which might have been popular in my day. Ahem. I’m sure your hubby was quite happy last night after that game. Your team did an amazing job making my team look like they forgot how to play football. Yee, that was lit. That is all. Have a wonderful weekend!! :)
Ha ha! I’m cracking up Jeanne! Lit for sure. ;) Yes.. we were happy with that win – finally! Although next week we’ll most likely look like we forgot how to play again. Do you girls “dab”… crazy dance move/arm motion my girls make all the time. Oh my word.. it all makes me feel so OLD! I can’t keep up with it! Happy I’m not alone. :) xo
Jeanne, Lol! “Yee, that was lit.” :) Haha! I haven’t heard those before.
Erin, My almost 12-year-old does a weird dance with his arms and hips that apparently all his friends at school love to do. Is that dabbing? I need a video tutorial. :D
Ok, I googled it. Not the same thing. Ha. :)
Ha! So do I Jenny! ;)
Those are beautiful and versatile lanterns. All your decorating ideas are wonderful. They really add a lot of character and warmth to your home. Enjoy the weekend! TGIF!
Thank you so much Pamela! Happy weekend! xo
I find it funny that not once did you put a candle in them. Way to think outside the box (or lantern). ;)
Ha! Right? You made me smile. :) xo
Erin, just curious how many of these lanterns you have? How many of each sizes? Just for my reference purposes.
Hi Debbie! I use to just have one medium and one large and now I have 3 medium and 2 large. I bought more when I saw how much I was using them! xo
Thanks, Erin. I’ll keep a watch out for these lanterns to go on sale. I have always liked them as it makes me feel like I’m in the beach, but waiting for a good sale to grab them.
Hi Erin,
Whenever I go to your home page, I always see this October 13th post and can’t access any new blog postings. Just wanted to let you know in case others are having this issue. Love your content!
Oh no Cathy! Have you tried re-starting your computer or trying in Chrome instead of Safari? Or vise versa? That always works for me when I’m having that problem! I haven’t heard it’s an issue for anyone else! Thanks for letting me know though and for you sweet words about my blog! xo
I happened to be at PB yesterday and they were on sale! Woohoo! 4 new lanterns for me :) Thank you for posting how versatile they are, can’t wait to fill them with goodies for the holidays.
YEA! So exciting! You will love them. :) Happy holidays! xo
