I have a special post for you all today! My sweet friend Rachel at Mason de Pax is hosting her annual Christmas Nights Tour. Time to take a peek of some beautiful homes all lit up at night. I love this tour because I LOVE Christmas lights! Who doesn’t!? I can’t think of anything more beautiful than the glow of soft, twinkling Christmas lights. They make all of our homes feel so cozy and warm. If you are visiting from my friend Sarah’s blog Life on Virgina Street welcome! I’m so happy to have you over. :)
After you pass through our entry our formal living room is the first room you see. We finished building this home three years ago and this is my first Christmas having a tree in this room. I have absolutely loved it. There is nothing like a Christmas tree all lit up at night.
My Christmas gallery wall is also new this year and I love the way our hallway sconces highlight some of our family’s favorite Christmas pictures.
My kids set up our Christmas village in the entry again this year. It’s their favorite part of all of the Christmas decor and they do everything themselves! Aside from carrying in the table. That’s dads one and only job. :)
The little houses look magical at night. A lot of these pieces were given to me by my mom. I have the best memories of setting up this village when I was a little girl and I love that my kids are as fond of it as I always was.
Our family room has felt extra cozy this month with the lights from the tree and my fireplace garland. This room is where we spend most of our time.
I took this picture last year, but the decor is pretty much the same. :) We have been having cold weather for San Diego this time of year and I love having our fireplace on.
It’s such a rare treat for us to read Christmas books and watch Christmas movies by the fire. Quite often we’re reading Christmas books and watching Christmas movies with the air conditioning on. ;)
This picture is also from last year but it’s one of my favorites. My sweet little boy who had been in bed for hours woke up and walked into the family room while I was taking pictures of our tree. He told me he had been having a nightmare and asked if he could please just hang out with me for a while. He is my youngest and my only boy and is pretty much spoiled beyond spoiled by me and his sisters so the answer was of course yes accompanied by a huge hug. :) He walked over to the tree and started talking about his favorite ornaments and I snapped away. Such a sweet, candid moment that I will cherish and remember forever.
This movie has been on repeat this week. :)
A couple of pictures from my kitchen!
And our formal dining room lit up at night and ready to welcome friends!
Our stair garland gives such a beautiful glow and highlights the snowflake wall my kids’ created. One of my favorite spots in the house this year. :)
And I can’t forget my little mudroom tree! Also a new addition this year.
I especially love the look of this little tree through our dutch door on my porch.
A few pics of the outside of our home..
Like I said before.. I really love Christmas lights. :)

Hi Erin,
We’ve been keen followers of your blog for a while now! We are building a house in Australia soon and are in NYC for Christmas & New Year. We are hoping to take home or ship some lights for our new home and have ordered some from PB. Can you please tell me where you got your outdoor lights? Wall sconces & pendants?
Kind regards,
Wendy
Hi Wendy! Thank you! So exciting! My wall sconces are from a store called Jeremiah by Craftmade. My pendants were all from different places.. is there one in particular you are wondering about? And my outdoor light link is in this post on my Halloween decor – click on the picture of my lights at the bottom of the post and it will take you to them. :)

Love your photos! Though our climate in rural Yorkshire, England, isn’t quite as sunny as yours, this year has been so mild! I’m secretly glad that this week has finally seen frost and low temperatures, so that we can light our log burner and stay cozy. Have a great Christmas!
Thank you Jan! I totally understand. :) Stay cozy for sure and enjoy the holiday! xo
So beautiful, Erin! Your home is stunning all year around, but looks even more amazing with all the warmth and glow of the twinkling Christmas lights. I hope you enjoyed a fabulous holiday with your beautiful little family!
