Friends! Â I’m sharing my decorated master bedroom today! Â Finally! Â Usually for long posts when I’ve taken WAY too many pictures I suggest you all grab a snack before we get started. Â Today I’d like to suggest you grab a meal. Â That’s right. Â Cheese and pretzels won’t cut it today. Â You’re going to need something more substantial. Â Ha. ;)
I tried to include as many details and sources as I could but let me know if you have other questions! Â This is the hallway leading to our bedroom. Â (French doors lead to our backyard.) Â Come in come in! Â I always love having you over. :)
I mentioned in my last post (with earlier pics of this room soon after we built our home and moved in) that I wanted this room to feel spacious and full of light, but also cozy. Â Mission accomplished and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Â I hope you all like it too!
I decided on the same pitched shiplap and beam ceiling that I sketched for our family room. It’s my favorite. :)  And I’m so happy with the new paint!  (You can see the original paint I had in my previous master bedroom post.)

Ok.. so many details to share in this room! Â Here we go…
First.. the chandelier.  This room is large and to be honest I really struggled with the light fixture!  It was so hard finding something big enough that fit the style I was going for.  I loved and ordered this light (same fixture I have but a smaller size) and it looked so funny.  Just way too small for this space.  Which I kind of knew, but I wanted it to work so badly that I ordered it anyway!  I returned it and then wanted this light.  Too small.  Same with this one and this one.  Every fixture I loved and wanted for my bedroom just wasn’t big enough.  Finally I found the original light I ordered in a larger size!  That was a happy day. :)  It has sold out now but this fixture is almost identical.
This Moroccan Trellis rug is one of the first things I ordered for my house. Â I had loved it for so long and almost put it in my formal living room. Â But then I found my living room rug and decided to put this in the bedroom. Â They are similar! Â Clearly I like cream rugs with diamond patterns. :) Â This rug is the absolute SOFTEST rug ever and I love that about it. Â BUT. Â It sheds like crazy. Â I’ve had it for a few years now and the shedding is finally slowing down. Â Worth it to me because I love the rug (style and softness) and vacuum this room once a week, but a warning if you are considering it too!
I love having a wooden ladder in this room to toss throws over. Â (I have the same ladder in my powder bathroom that holds towels.) Â The orange/coral throw in this pic has always looked a bit too bright to me so I recently ordered this herringbone throw in “salmon” to put there instead. Â But I love my new throw so much I want it in the family room too so we’ll see where it lands. Â I play musical home decor a lot around here. :)
Our nightstands are from Restoration Hardware.  The Eva glass lamps were the second thing I bought after the rug.. love  them so much!  (These are the Jade color.)  I don’t know what it was about these pagoda shaped mirrors but they were love at first sight also.  I like how they add just a touch of glam to the space.  I keep my nightstand decor pretty simple.  I know a real plant or fresh flowers would look better, but I keep real flowers on a different table in this room and that’s all I can keep up with. :)  My nightstand holds a small frame with a favorite pic of my three kids, my all time favorite candle and then I framed my list of 40 things my friends love about me from my last birthday party.  SO special to me.
K – these chairs!  I can’t even think about these spindle chairs without feeling pure JOY.  Like they almost make me want to cry I love them so much.  They almost made my husband cry when he saw what I spent on them.. so yeah.. lots of tears were almost shed over these beloved chairs. ;)  These exact chairs aren’t available anymore but below are similar options.  Similar options that are less expensive so tell your spouse I said you’re welcome. ;)  I also linked to similar silver end tables (mine is also sold out).  The pillows in my bedroom are all custom and so are the drapes.  (I ordered them from my darling friend/designer Tritia.  You can find her info. in this post.)  I wasn’t going to put drapes in this room because I already had plantation shutters, but then decided on simple panels just for decor (they don’t close all the way) to soften the space.  When I chose this fabric I was a little nervous about how they would look, but the second they were installed I was thrilled!  I love them so much.  They add a lot of softness and texture.
Fresh flowers and a favorite organizing book complete this happy sitting area. :)
My bed is the Alison bed from Ethan Allen and then I customized it by choosing the fabric. Â Bedding is this Pintuck Duvet cover/shams from West Elm. Â I love white bedding! Â Especially this white bedding. Â So clean and crisp and you can mix up your pillows and decor and bring in so many fun colors. Â Lots of options with white bedding! Â I’m a fan. :) Â I also have to add that we have had these sheets for over a year and I love them. Â SO soft.
My bench was a custom order from a company I’ve never used before and I have to say.. NOT impressed. Â The customer service was awful.. they took forever with my order and didn’t return calls. Â Huge pain to work with and even though I’m happy with how the bench turned out, I’ll never order from them again (or recommend them to you!).
I was struggling with what to put over my bed (I knew I wanted one big frame but couldn’t decide on a family picture, art or a sign.)  Tritia suggested some art from Minted so I looked on-line and found this print and loved it (plus it was the colors I wanted to bring in the room!) but I wasn’t sure.  For some reason art has always made me nervous!  A bit out of my comfort zone.  I looked around for a few more months and couldn’t find anything else I liked as much.  I had the art selected with the frame I wanted in my on-line cart ready to push buy but I just couldn’t do it.. I kept going back and forth and talking myself out of it.  Then literally later that same day I got an e-mail from Minted asking if I wanted to choose some art to share with all of you in a post!  I seriously couldn’t believe it!  I took that as a sign.  This art was meant to be mine. :)  It’s Minted’s Morning River and I chose the classic white frame in the largest size (54 x 40).  I’m so happy with how it turned out!  In fact I loved it so much that soon after I bought  this Minted art for my entry way.  One thing I’ve learned decorating my house – whenever I break out of my comfort zone and order something I love but that also makes me nervous.. those are often the things I end up loving the most!  It’s good to break out of our comfort zones once in a while. :)

I had some space on the left side of the bedroom for a desk/console table. Â Sometimes after we put the kids in bed Kenny and I head to the bedroom and he watches TV and I do a little work at this desk.
{lattice accent table/similar console/pinboard/frame/white vase here and here/similar silver tray/chair/large silver vase – Home Goods/faux blossoms}
I found the console at Restoration Hardware and then soon after found this one that is so similar and a lot less expensive. Â Never fails! Â I love this pinboard. Â Perfect to hang pictures and keepsakes from the kids. Â This is a happy spot in my room. :)
I shared this in my last post.. a custom linen closet I designed for this space that’s directly across from the door to our master bathroom. Â We keep things like sheets and extra pillows in the cupboards. Â I added a mirror to the front middle cupboard because I don’t have a full length mirror in my bathroom.
{necklace/madewell bag/Tory Burch bracelet/favorite jeans/peep toe booties}
It ended up becoming my Fashion Friday spot. :)  Btw..  I just updated my favorites page with new fashion favorites I love and some I just ordered! I saw my surgeon Friday and was able to switch into a better knee brace.  I can finally start putting a little weight on my leg and wearing some cute clothes again!  I’m so excited.  I’ve been in the same sweat shorts for a month and I’m over them.  I’m over crutches too!  Good times around here lately. ;)
When we were framing the house I noticed an open pocket of space inside the wall between my master bathroom and bedroom because of the way the wall turned. Â I talked to my cabinet guys and asked if it would work to add a little book shelf that went back into the wall. Â I drew a sketch and they said sure and it ended up working out perfectly because we use the bottom cupboards to hide all of the TV equipment for this room. Â I’ll share a pic of that in another post!
The Let’s Stay Home sign on this hook is another favorite spot.  Because I’m all about staying home. :)
I keep favorite throws and magazines in the baskets by my fireplace.
I talked a little about these benches I designed in my previous post. Â I resisted my temptation to cover them in too many pillows because I’m not so great at making our bed every day and I knew they would hold all the bed pillows most of the time.
This is how they usually look holding the pillow overflow. Â I snapped this with my phone and shared it on IG stories last week. Â My every day view. Â I’ve been spending a lot of time in my bedroom this month!
And that’s it! Â My master bedroom. Â Finally decorated and FINALLY posted on the blog. Â Sorry for the delay. Â Did you make it through your meal? Â Moved on to dessert? Â Just happy you’re still with me. ;)
No doubt I’ll be tweaking things in this space forever but it’s always such a good feeling to have the main furniture and decor figured out. Â I’m so happy with how it turned out and I hope you all like it too!
I know my little contractor is happy with it. Â He helped me design this space five years ago.
And then helped me photograph this space five months ago.
Couldn’t have done it without him.
;)
p.s.  I’ve been getting so many paint questions lately!  If you enter your information in the box at the end of this post you will have access to a free printable with ALL of my paint info.  Colors, numbers, sheen, etc. for all of the paint colors throughout my house!  Happy painting. :)Â

Darlene
So sweet of you Darlene! I’m so happy you like it. Thank you! :) xo
Hi Erin!
Your home is just lovely and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts for quite some time. I always think to myself that your home’s design and layout are absolutely perfect. Have you or would you be willing to share the name of your builder? Thanks for giving all of us beautiful home inspiration right in our mailboxes! Blessings to you and your family! Diana
Diana that is the sweetest comment! Thank you so much. So kind of you to say and I’m so happy you enjoy my posts. That means a lot to me! My builder only works in my area, but if you are still interested I’ll definitely send you his info! Shoot me an e-mail anytime. :) xo
I absolutely love it !!
I’ve always wanted a fireplace and TV in my room.. I’m working on my hubby who is anti TV in the bedroom but I feel like he’s goint to save ( only taken me 17 years) lol
Ha ha.. good luck with that one Heidi! So glad you like it. ;) xo
Love your bedroom and all your decorating!!! It is beautiful! I do have a question for you…..We are redoing a home that has stained doors, trim and cupboards and trying to talk my husband into painting them white or at least the cupboards and trim and possibly keeping the doors stained, so wondering if the white is hard to keep clean??? Love everything about your house!!
Thanks!
So sweet of you Brenda! Thank you! I honestly don’t think white cupboards are hard to keep clean at all! And I have three busy, messy kids. :) Just make sure you use an eggshell or something similar for the sheen when you paint so that you can easily wipe things off. But honestly, it’s not that often I have to wipe things off. You would think everything shows up on the white but I think it’s the other way around.. it hides things well! xo
Erin!!! It’s perfect! I love that you have a fireplace and such beautiful colors to enjoy. The art above the bed looks fabulous with your pillows! “Happy” is the first word that came to mind. Truly, I love it so so much!
Oh you are the sweetest Jen! Thank you! I’m so happy you like it! I wish that I got to use that fireplace more than I do. Sometimes I turn it on just to feel cozy and then I have to turn it off 10 minutes later because it heats the room up too hot. Ha. Thanks again cutie! Made my day hearing from you. :) xo
Erin your room is just like you, warm and beautiful!!!! I’m so happy you had such a beautiful place to recover in! Love you my sweet friend!
Xo
Randi
Randi you are such a sweetheart! What a kind and thoughtful thing to say. Thank you! I’m thrilled you like it! I loved hearing from you today and I can’t wait to to hang out again soon! Seriously counting down. :) xo
Erin, your bedroom is STUNNING! I love the bookcase nook you added at the last minute….such an unexpected touch! Your style is beautiful as always, and this room looks very much like it fits with the rest of your house! Simply gorgeous. Question for you: your bedding is beautiful and I love your throw pillows. But I’ve always wondered on styled beds like this, where are the pillows you actually sleep on? I know you move the throw pillows to the benches by the fireplace, but where do you keep your sleeping pillows when the bed is made? Thanks! Hope the knee recovery is speedy now that you can weight-bear!
Michelle your comment made me so happy! Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you like it! That bookcase nook was a fun little addition for sure. :) I love your question because I’ve wondered the same thing! Ha. :) To be honest I don’t make this bed every day so usually the pillows we sleep on are on the bed and the bed pillows are on the benches. If I make the bed because people are coming over and will see the room I put the pillows we sleep on in that linen closet! The one I use for my fashion pics. :) If I make it just because and nobody is coming over I just set them on the rug on the side of the bed near our window or sometimes I make the bed and put them propped up behind some of the decorative pillows and I just don’t use as many decorative pillows. So they tend to rotate. :) xo
What a lovely, cozy, beautiful retreat for you and your husband, Erin! Beautiful room. So many details to love. One that stands out to me are those rose pillows. Wow! And how light and bright it is. I really could go on and on. The art over the bed, the coral touches. What a labor of love for you that you absolutely got right. Thank you so much for sharing this little bit of heaven. Happy to hear you are progressing well in your recovery. I’m sure it’s been tough for you, someone who is always on the go, to be forced to slow down a bit. Best wishes for a great recovery. Hugs!
I’m so happy you like it! I know.. those flowered pillows are so pretty aren’t they!? The second I saw that fabric I knew I had to use it! I actually debated doing the curtains in that fabric too, but knew that it wouldn’t be as versatile/neutral for when I want to switch things around again. I know myself well. ;) You are a sweetheart to think of me and my recovery! It has definitely been a challenge, but I think I’m through the worst of it. I can finally walk! I’m SO slow but it feels amazing to ditch the crutches! Thanks for your sweet words Jeanne! I hope you have a great week. :) xo
What a beautiful space, Erin! So many favorites in here :) On a random note, I too will be having a surgery this week that will keep me on bed rest for a couple of weeks. Any tips on how to NOT lose your mind while stuck in your bedroom?! LOL
Thank you Tiffany! So happy you like it! :) Oh man.. I’m so sorry to hear about your surgery! Not fun. I’m laughing at your comment.. it really is hard not to go crazy when you can’t do much! I think I’ve survived because I had a list of computer projects I wanted to get done. Feeling a little productive each day helps immensely! I organized all of my pictures on my computer, cleaned out my e-mail inbox, worked on a lot of blog back end stuff I’ve been putting off forever. I still want to organize my iPhone folders, etc. If you have things you need to get caught up on like that now is a good time to do it! Also find a few good shows on Netflix. :) I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls with Addison and The Crown. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Hang in there! xo
adding these pointers to my list! Thank you!
Erin, this room just makes me so happy!! I love your ceiling, the fireplace (on my list!) and so much more! Not to mention the beautiful way it’s decorated…love the colors in this space so much!!! What’s even better for me is that I’ve actually seen it in person:)! Thanks for sharing it with us…I couldn’t love it more!!!!! xoxo
Thank you so much Bree! You are too kind! I’m thrilled you like it and LOVE that you got to see it in person. :) That was the best trip! So excited to see you again this Spring! xo
Just beautiful! I absolutely LOVE it! You should be very proud!
Thank you so much Brenda! I’m just so happy to have it done! For some reason this room took me forever to decorate! And then forever to finally post. :) So happy you like it! xo
Your bedroom is so serene. I love the lighter paint and especially love your custom linen closet. Such a good idea to look like furniture. Lovely everything!
I’m so happy you like it Diane! Thank you! :)
So pretty Erin!! Hope you’re feeling better and starting to get around a bit more. Take care!
Thank you so much Janet! Definitely getting around a bit better.. slow but better. :) xo
Paradise!! I love this room so much- it’s beautiful and happy just like you!
Lindsay! What a thoughtful thing to say. Thank you! You made my day. :) xo
Your bedrooms is beautiful! Just wondering where your nightstands are from …
Thank you Pat! They are from Restoration Hardware! :)
SO SO pretty Erin! Thank you for sharing! I always get such great inspiration from your posts! I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Thank you so much Stacy! That makes me so happy to hear! :) xo
Hi Erin,
I am so excited to see the reveal! It looks so great, open and airy. We have same color scheme and a lot of the similar things in our bedrooms!
We also had a custom built frame and box for our tv over the fire place in our living room to hide the wires etc.
I’m glad your knee is doing better :)
I love watching your house transform! I WISH I could have you over to pour your ideas out in my house BUT the best thing is that you make it look easy! I hear that little voice of reason saying “yes, you can do it too”! Thanks for your inspiration!
Hi Erin, Love your home! Can you tell me the fabric manufacturer and name used in drapes and floral pillows?
Thanks, Sheryl
Erin, your finished master space is absolutely what a bedroom should be – calming with pops of happy!!! I have almost the same chandelier in my foyer – love it! I am new to your blog … found it as I’m doing some home renovating/updating and it has been a very useful source both in practical terms and for inspiration (and you’re funny, too, a total bonus!!!) Please enjoy a speedy recovery from your surgery and thank you for your wonderful blog!
Your room is beautiful, Erin! Light and bright, but cozy and homey. Perfect combo!! The colors are beautiful too and eveyrthing looks so great together. Thank you for sharing! I am glad you’re feeling better slowly but surely. :)
Oh my goodness, Erin, your bedroom is beautiful! What makes it so amazing is that it’s warm and inviting….like the rest of home. It’s not so over-done that it looks “staged,” like so many I’ve seen. You did such a wonderful job of designing all of your custom pieces….the linen cabinet & benches. Thank you so much for sharing.
I’m so glad to hear that you are improving and getting more mobile. Don’t over-do it, though!
Warm hugs,
Carol
I really love the decor and the overall look and feel of the master bedroom Erin. no wonder it took so long to share lol dare I say it may be my favorite room of the house :-)
Erin, your bedroom is gorgeous! You really did an amazing job with every detail – that ceiling is so fabulous and I love the hallway and that you have access to the backyard! What a stunning retreat, so cozy and warm and so beautiful! You are amazing my friend, I just love every inch of your home! xo
What a gorgeous bedroom! You’re right it looks cozy and with Kole posing in the last picture it gives us a better idea of how massive the room is. It’s often hard to see that with just furniture. I love your duvet cover, but I’d like to know what duvet you’re using too. I use a down comforter inside a duvet cover and it doesn’t lay flat because of the all the feathers bunch up in different areas. Also, your Let’s Stay Home sign isn’t framed but I’m not seeing that option on Etsy. What size is the one you have?
Hi Debbie! Thank you! So happy you like it. :) They used to have this style of frame for the Let’s Stay Home sign.. they must have sold out of it! It was the largest size they offered. Our duvet was from Bed Bath and Beyond! xo
Thank you for sharing your bedroom with us! Love it and all the pops of color! It’s the perfect balance of formal and cozy.
Thank you so much Kimberly! I’m so happy you like it! :)
Absolutely beautiful! Such a cozy room! Love everything. My favorite part is ………..well, everything! Nice job! I hope your recovery is going smoothly and no complications. 🌸
You are so kind Noreen! Thank you! I’m thrilled you like it! :) xo
You have a beautiful master bedroom! You have great taste and such an eye for design! I was wondering what size is the rug underneath your bed? I love it and been eyeing it for a while.
What a sweet thing to say Michelle! Thank you! I ordered that rug in the largest size it comes in.. 9×12 I think? I love this rug! But it does shed.. worth it to me but I wanted to warn you. :)
Love this room. Any chance you can share details about the curtain panels you have up?
Sara
Thank you Sara! You can find details on how to get my curtains in this post:

Beautiful space! I was curious if you knew what size louvres your plantation shutters have? Are they 4.5″?
Thank you! Yes! 4 1/2. :)
Hi Erin! I just absolutely love this room and your blog. Would you mind sharing what fabric you chose for your bed frame? I am also thinking about purchasing the Alison Bed after following you for so long! Thanjs’
Hi Kimberly! You are too kind.. thank you! I wish I could remember the name of it! I totally forgot. It’s a very simple light beige. :)
