{tiered dress with puff sleeves/three strap slide sandal}
Happy Thursday! Is it warm yet in your neck of the woods!? We’ve had a cooler Spring this year and I’m so anxious for SUN! We’ll get a warm sunny day here and there and then back to cool and cloudy. Spring is such a tease. :) I’m sharing a few recent Spring fashion favorites from Walmart. If you haven’t ever checked out their Free Assembly brand of clothes you should! It’s full of cute, affordable basics and I find myself slipping Free Assembly items into my on-line cart with our groceries more and more every month. It’s just a little too convenient. Ha.
This black tiered dress with puff sleeves is adorable! Lightweight and easy breezy. It comes in white too which is a little more Spring like but I always go for black. I’ve found that my black clothes rarely go out of style! They look great year after year. If you’re looking for some cute COMFY sandals for a steal try these three strap slide sandals. You can dress them up or down and the sole is padded and so soft.
Speaking of black basics.. this strappy romper is another Free Assembly favorite. If it looks similar to rompers I already own that’s because it is. :) I live in stuff like this in the summer! My kids swim multiple times a day so I find myself putting on my suit and just leaving it on most of the day. I love rompers that I can toss over my suit if we leave the house for a quick popsicle run. :)
Here’s a closer look.. I love the sash that ties around the waist! It has a flattering fit and the material is nice and thick.
So cute for summer.
{gathered neck top/high rise skinny jeans}
You can’t beat a cute simple tee! Or another black basic. Clearly I’m a fan. :) Also these high rise skinny jeans are such a good fit for the price! So comfortable and they have a nice amount of stretch. They come in a darker wash and a black. I really need more light options when it comes to jeans so I got the lightest wash. I’m wearing a size 4 (I’m usually a small in bottoms) and they fit perfect!
{raglan stripe sweater/high rise skinny jeans}
This sweater is comfy and warm but lightweight. Perfect for Spring days that are still on the cool side. I wore it twice last week and my kids were quick to point that out to me. Gotta love their never-ending honesty and attention to detail.
{flutter sleeve sweater tee/high rise skinny jeans}
This is another lightweight sweater that I know will be on repeat. So cute and of course I had to get it in green! It does come in other colors too. The sleeves are my favorite! The reviews said it runs small but I’m wearing my regular size (xs) and like the fit. I could have easily gone up a size if I wanted it longer.
{ribbed crewneck tee/high rise skinny jeans}
I ordered a few of these ribbed crewneck tees (along with one of the long sleeved tees!) because I find myself reaching for comfy basics like this a lot. Perfect with sweat pants or leggings to wear around the house or to layer under a vest, cardigan, button sweater, etc. I got the navy, white and heather color.
I also picked up a couple of these long sleeve henley shirts for Kenny. He put it on and immediately said “oh I like this!” I knew he would. :) Then he wore it two days in a row and I’m still wondering why the kids didn’t give him a hard time like they did me. Probably because dad’s wardrobe is always basics on repeat and isn’t on their radar. At least that’s what I’m telling myself to feel better. ;)
(Another great shot of Kenny.. he wouldn’t slow down long enough for me to take a pic so this is all I got. He’s not winning any blogger husband awards lately.. that’s for sure. Speaking of.. if you’re interested in hearing about my job from Kenny’s point of view you can read this “husbands tell all” post from the archives. If you’ve already read it then you understand why I haven’t had him write a post since. Clearly we need to work on our picture posing skills first. Baby steps with this one.) ;)
{classic reglan sweatshirt/classic sweatpants}
Ok.. last favorite Free Assembly find and I’m in love! But since they’re sweats you already knew that. :) These are such a good fit and so comfy! (I usually wear a small in bottoms but these are an xs and fit perfect so if you’re in-between sizes go down one.)
As soon as I’m done running kids around for the day I switch to sweats! That’s the one thing I miss about lockdown.. I finally got to live my dream of never taking off my sweats and joggers. ;)
{men’s long sleeve crew sweatshirt}
Kenny and I are both having a hard time adjusting to our “back to normal” busy schedules and work clothes. We got pretty used to a slower paced life at home in comfy clothes all day. It made us ready for retirement and now we’re counting down.. ha. ;)
I’m so proud of myself for surviving having him and the kids all home for so long. Moms pat yourself on the back.. that was no small feat! My kids are going back to school but Kenny hasn’t been back to his office yet. He has decided he’s pretty productive working from home and likes the added bonus of being able to give me a hard time all day.
I don’t know what I’d do without him and his sarcasm.
I’d be a lot more efficient and productive.. that’s for sure.
But I definitely wouldn’t laugh as much..
so I guess I’ll keep him around.
;)
Great post, Erin. I will have to check out some of the options from Walmart. You look great modeling everything. Nice that you could get Kenny to stop for a second. Happy for him that he worked out a productive schedule at home. The sarcasm is a bonus! You two look to be a lot of fun and laughter is great for whatever ails you, right? Thanks again for sharing. I appreciate all you do. We may hit 80 this weekend or early next week. Hope I don’t melt! haha!
Thank you Jeanne! So true.. laughter throughout the day makes the difficult/crazy stuff a lot more bearable. It’s supposed to be warm here this weekend too.. yea! Bring on the sun! Enjoy! CO is so beautiful in the summer. :) xo
I must check out these Walmart pieces. The dress and romper are cute! I hope Kenny will be a guest on your blog again soon. He had me laughing on the last one. I join him in not wanting to go back to the office 100% of the time. I’m at 60-70% and I’m getting things done and still enjoying it.
Thanks Debbie! I’m hearing that so much and I’m so curious to see how things change in the future! I think there will be a lot of people popping in the office occasionally but working more from home. We’ll see! I know some people love it and some don’t. I’m so happy a hybrid is woking for you! Best of both worlds. :)
Hi,
Can you please share the source for the flowers from the white vase on the kitchen island? Thanks.
Hi! Those exact faux flowers sold out! But I linked a very similar option at the beginning of this post below:
