Happy Thanksgiving week to you all! Kids are out of school and we are ready to kick off the holidays! You too!? Bring on the stretchy pants. :)
I’m sharing my holiday mantel today! I’m calling it a holiday mantel instead of a Christmas mantel because it has a bit of a Thanksgiving vibe this year! See.. we DO celebrate Thanksgiving around here. ;) Also it was a team effort! I got to work on my garland (I layered and layered and layered some more).
Then Kenny hung my star ornaments for me. I have been wanting to hang something from the thin molding at the top this mantel for years! I told Kenny this was the year and he wouldn’t let me get on our tall ladder. I quickly reminded him that I live on tall ladders in October and November and then he quickly reminded me of how many minor injuries I’ve accumulated from various house projects and then we agreed that he should get on the tall ladder. :) This was a screenshot from a video I shared in IG stories. I asked him to explain what he was doing and he answered “laddering, measuring, penciling and hammering.” Thanks for the helpful tutorial babe. Some husbands just aren’t meant for Instagram tutorials.. mine would be one of them. Ha. But very sweet of him to help me with this.. he was definitely speaking my love language helping with holiday decor!

These are the stars I had him hang. They have little battery packs that include a timer and light up so beautiful! I have them on my Christmas tree this year too.
{large lit glass tree/small lit glass tree}
I also included these beautiful lit glass trees on my mantel this year.. they are all over my house and light up so beautiful! (They can also be set to turn on with a timer!)

This his how it turned out! Christmas with a nod to Thanksgiving because of the colors and the fall leaves. I’ll probably swap the fall branches out for something more wintery in a few weeks, but it is JUST now starting to feel like fall in San Diego so this feels very appropriate for us!

I know you all know that I struggle decorating this mantel because of its large size. I had to layer a lot of my faux cedar garland to get it this thick! Basically I have none left for the rest of the house.. ha. ;) I also wove some of my tried and true eucalyptus garland in. I’ll never get tired of this combo of greenery! I decided not to add my leafy glam garland like I had planned because it looked so pretty with just the two garlands.
Layering my faux cedar garland until my fingers were green was worth it. I love the big full swoop. :)
Next to my fall branches I added the pretty lit glass trees, my favorite birch trees and a few of these favorite candles.

I also added stockings and ribbon and bells and a pretty snowflake ornament on the left and called it complete!

I snapped this with my phone at night and it’s not the best night photography! I really can’t capture how pretty it looks when all of the lights click on. I think I’ll add some twinkle lights to my mantel garland at some point too. Never enough lights! In my opinion anyway. :)
And a few phone pics at night with the lights turned on..
Feeling cozy around here! My mantel works well with my Christmas tree in this room and I’ll share that soon too! I have so much to share and wish December was a hundred days long! I’ll be back soon with more decor and my favorites for Black Friday. Happy Thanksgiving prep everyone! If you are traveling be safe and enjoy this week with loved ones! So grateful for each one of you.
And for helpful husbands and trees that turn on with a timer.
;)
WOW! Your mantel is gorgeous!! Thank you to Kenny for helping you with hanging the stars. Giggled at his humor. What a good guy. The end result is simply stunning. Thank you so much for sharing, Erin. A very happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweet family!
Thank you so much Jeanne! I’ll tell Kenny you liked his tutorial.. ha! He’s a good guy for sure. :) Wishing you and your beautiful family the happiest Thanksgiving! I hope you all get to be together! xo
Wow Erin – your mantel looks so elegant. I love the swoop of the full green garland! The whole look is just so unexpected and absolutely gorgeous. I love the Thanksgiving vibe, the woven vase with the fall branches, the light up trees, the light up stars…. it’s just incredible!!! Beautiful work- I love your vision and your style so much!
Amy your sweet comment just made my night! I’m so happy you like it! Smiling so big.. that is beyond kind of you to say! Thank you! Wishing you and your family the best Thanksgiving! xo
Oh, Erin! Oh Erin!
OHMYGOSH is most of what I have to say! Pretty much says it all! Your “Holiday mantel” (the “Pappa Version” of my old one) is well, OHHHHHMYGOSH….
Your “wordy friend” has just become a “woman of FEW words”! :)
PS.
That is a wonderful husband who will still speak with you while on a TALL LADDER! The husband HERE has a MUCH MORE limited “vocabulary” on the same TALL Ladder….
You would not be able to print it (WHAT he says IF spoken to on ladder :/ )
HA HA… you crack me up Sherri! Sounds like your husband isn’t an IG tutorial type either? We’ll keep them anyway. ;) So happy you like the mantel! Happiest Thanksgiving to you and that beautiful family of yours! XO
Wow!!🤩. Love the stars and all the lights
Just beautiful 🦃🎄
Yea! So happy you like it Lynn! Thank you so much! xo
Love your mantel! 🌟
Thank you Julie! Happy Thanksgiving! xo
That mantel is STUNNING, Erin! All your hard work on that garland combo was well worth it – absolutely gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your lovely family!
Cheers from Canada :)
Oh you are the sweetest Samantha! Thank you! I’m so happy you like it all! You made my night. :) So kind of you. Sending love to you and yours! xo
I like the lighted stars. So you used a nail to hang them instead of little command hooks?
Thank you Debbie! Yes! I had Kenny just put small white nails in the top molding. They are back towards the wall so you can’t even see them! I’m going to just leave them there so that I can always hang things during the holidays. :)
Everything looks so festive and beautiful, Erin!! Great job! 🎄🌟
Thank you sweet Lisa! So kind of you! Happy Thanksgiving! xo
It looks so pretty! Well done!! And I agree…you can never have too many lights! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you so much Leah! Happy holidays to you and your family! xo
Oh Erin, this is absolutely stunning! Day and night! What a combo of colors and textures and classic and glam. Love it all! I don’t know how you keep outdoing yourself with creativity each year! Enjoy your Thanksgiving and weekend with loves ones :)
Day made! You are TOO kind Genelle! Thank you so much! What a thoughtful thing to say. I hope you’re having the best weekend! Sending love and a huge hug. :) xo
