The Sunday Edit

Happy Sunday! What a week! We got Addison moved into her dorm for college and started moving Ellie into her apartment. It has been 4 nonstop days of packing and traveling and moving and organizing and tears (lots of tears!) and I am physically and emotionally exhausted. But also so happy and excited for my girls and the new adventures and experiences coming their way! I will share pics as soon as I can catch my breath and get a few groceries in our fridge. :) Until then enjoy this week’s round-up of favorites! So many great things for fall! I know I will have lots of hard moments in my quiet house over the next couple of months (I can’t walk past their empty bedrooms without bursting into tears) but I am so grateful fall is coming. This time of year always feels so special and I know that lighting a favorite pumpkin candle (this scent is my go-to!), getting my house in order and decorating it for fall, hearing the soothing sounds of football on the TV and planning fun things for our family when we can all be together will help me find happiness even when I’m feeling sad. I sincerely hope this new season brings comfort and joy to your home too. Thank you so much for being here. You are all part of my joy and therapy plan too even if you don’t know it. :) xo

  1. Big hugs for you mom! What a challenging time. A rollercoaster of emotions times 2! I wish you peace and comfort as you begin to navigate this school year. Such an exciting time for your chickies, but a bit of a hard one for their mama. Be kind to yourself and know that you and your husband raised them well and they are going to do amazing things!

    1. Definitely an emotional time. You are incredibly kind and I so appreciate the hugs! Thank you so much Jeanne! You made my day. :) xo

  2. Erin,
What a nice Fall edit, and I love when you add a snippet of your life, as well, since it is YOU, Erin, that MAKES this blog. That makes THIS blog SUNNY Side Up! The nice THINGS in the edit are nice, but it is YOU, my friend, that sets it apart from others.
Erin, YOU have been part of my “therapy plan” for a long while, LOL! Some folks have “Retail Therapy” and I think when the going gets rough “let me see what Erin is up to”.
OK, so there is a bit of RETAIL therapy involved sometimes ;) MOSTLY it is about YOU and HOW you present, and I never let YOU sit in my mailbox for long, unlike some others!
Small tip- when I am sad that something is ending and there are some new beginnings that I really am not FULLY a part of (college beginnings, adult life beginnings etc.) and it is sad after so much involvement day in and day out with kids, I plan for the next BIG thing. Christmas with them, a family wedding months away even the next summer!
Mental health is all in getting excited for what comes next, at least for me! You and your girls have a wonderful life AHEAD!
Speaking of A WONDERFUL LIFE. HA! Christmas is just ahead!

    1. Sherri this comment! Oh my word. First of all you made me tear up talking about my blog. That honestly means so much to me. Especially that you find joy seeing what’s going on here. Retail therapy or not. ;) Also your advice is so GOOD and was needed tonight! Thank you! I’m looking forward to the holidays more than ever this year. I didn’t think I could be more excited about them but yes! I can! It’s a Wonderful Life Indeed. ;) Thank you again for your incredibly thoughtful words Sherri. Lucky to have you in my life! xo

  3. Been praying for you, Erin! I know this has been a hard week with all of the college stuff. I moved 2 into college this week too :( It’s hard, but we’ll make it and look forward to when everyone is home together soon! :)

    1. Sending a huge hug Lisa! It’s a lot right!? We will definitely make it and holidays are right around the corner. :) Thank you! xo
