Happy Saturday! I hope you had a great week! Mine has been a little busier than usual so I’m sharing a few recent events instead of my usual Saturday 6 today. Lots of fun things coming to the blog next week too so I’m excited about that! I turned 48 on Tuesday. 48! I think I was around 30 when I started blogging so wow. Crazy how quickly time really does go by. We are all getting old! ;) Last weekend was beautiful weather here but the rain hit on my birthday and this week has been a wet and cloudy mess! It might have made for some not so good hair, but it didn’t stop us from celebrating. :)
My cute friends took me to lunch and totally spoiled me and honestly seeing all of their beautiful faces felt like such a gift! I love each of them so much. It can be hard to find time for friends when you are an adult right? Life is so busy with kids and work and all of the things that pull us in a million directions, but at the end of the day good friendships enrich our lives so much. Plus friends just make life FUN. I’m incredibly grateful for these girls and for all of you. My beautiful on-line friends. :)
I’m already loving a few new products my friends gave me so excited to share those soon!
My original pizza b-day spot went out of business so we had to re-group and find a new one. There was so much pizza/salad leftover and they sent it all home with me (we have been eating pizza all week.. ha). I was so happy to have my pizza container! I fit a HUGE box of pizza inside. Total space saver.
Ad has been home for spring break all week and that also made my birthday such a treat this year! Heading out to celebrate together.
The absolute best when I can get my whole family together. It made me excited for this summer when my girls will both be home more! And when it’s not raining. ;)
Last weekend we threw a wedding shower for a close friend’s daughter and everything turned out so pretty! Sharing some pics in case you want to use these ideas for a shower or other party or event this year. I found this pretty welcome sign on Etsy that I downloaded and personalized and then I had it made into a poster at a local print place. Her colors are blue and white so it was perfect! We set it by the front door with a picture of the cute couple.
Dessert table!
Isn’t this shell cake adorable!?
These buffet dishes were perfect to hold the food and keep everything warm!
We had a lot of the food catered but a friend of mine made the salad and it was delicious.
We lucked out with beautiful weather so we set the tables up outside in my friend’s backyard.
We used my favorite
for all of the flowers.. they make it so easy to put together pretty arrangements! We also added these cute advice & wishes cards people could fill in on the table. My marriage advice was to always put each other first and to ignore the advice that says “never go to bed mad.” When it’s late and your feeling annoyed or frustrated with each other my advice is to go to bed and talk about it in the morning. It’s amazing what a good night’s sleep will do for perspective. ;)
ALL the drinks!
We had this table set up with party favors for people when they left.
I got the thank you for coming sign on Etsy too and ordered a gold frame for it.
Cutest favors.. both last names start with M!

The bride to be with her mom and the party planning crew! So happy for her. I have watched her grow up and can’t help getting emotional at events like these! We were all just pushing our kids in strollers yesterday. Such a beautiful day. We are throwing another wedding shower in a few weeks at my house so no rest for the planning crew. ;)
Enjoy your weekend and I’ll be back soon with all things spring!
Happiest birthday to you a little bit late, Erin! It’s the best when you can celebrate with your whole sweet crew! Even if it is rainy. :) It’s fun being celebrated by friends, too. The shower looked lovely! We attended an engagement party for a couple of kids, er young adults that my girls went to high school with. They all were in band together. Oh my! I completely understand where you are coming from. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Hugs!
Thank you so much Jeanne! So sweet of you. Love that you get it and sending hugs right back! :) xo
Happy belated birthday to you! I’m so glad that both of your girls were there to celebrate you. Today is my 60th birthday 😀 Oh my! What a beautiful bridal shower. My late mom loved hydrangeas. One year for Mother’s Day I gave her one that was a purple/blue color. She loved it! We have rain here too. Have a wonderful weekend Erin.
Shari! Oh my word.. happy 60th! I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Hydrangeas are my favorite flower too.. love that your mother loved them. :) Sending a huge hug your way! 60 is definitely one to celebrate! I hope you were surrounded by people you love. xo
Happy Birthday Erin! Love your blog, I have been following it for many years. It’s fabulous!
So sweet of you Sandy! Thank you! Means a lot that you’ve been with me for so long. :) xo
Erin,
The shower pics were fab! Food looked so yummy! Are you able to get the recipe steps for the yummy salads? If so pls pass on to us! Soon! Please!
BTW, the Husband to be looks almost exactly like MY SIL! Maybe it’s just guys in a certain age range and the hair? Not sure…BUT sure looks like him! HA!
Wonderful group of gal pals you have! Makes me sad that my group is all scattered now. That starts happening once the kids get on their own. :(
OH, forgot the MOST important!
♥HAPPY BIRTHDAY♥ my friend! You are still, as they say, YOUNGER THAN SPRINGTIME! I think your VERY youthful appearance is ALL the fun you have!
P.S. Can’t wait for the wedding shower in your own home! That will be absolutely FAB!
Oh you are TOO kind Sherri! Thank you so much! I’ll try to get the salad recipe for you! xo
Erin- any idea where the tables and chairs came from for the shower?
Hi Kristina! We ordered the lunch tables from a local party supply place here in SD. Let me know if you want the info!
