***Does this picture look familiar? I love snapping a picture each time the girls head down the walkway to our beach :)
The weather this week has been absolutely amazing, so when Thursday morning came around (our one morning we don’t have anything on our agenda) the girls and I decided it was time for the beach! We had such a fun morning. The beach was so quiet and beautiful…just a few surfers, joggers, and us. Thinking the water would be cold (it is January after all), I put the girls in their play dresses. I thought we would just walk along the beach and then head to the beach park, but they were having so much fun wading in the water (which didn’t feel much colder than it is in July), throwing rocks, running from waves, and chasing the seagulls that we never made it to the park. I wished I would have just put them in swimsuits!
Impressed? j/k no – we didn’t build this fun sand castle but we were glad that whoever did build it left it up for us to enjoy. The girls loved it!
Addison is always a little scared to step into the waves without Ellie’s help. I have so many pictures of the two of them holding hands walking towards the waves. This shot never gets old to me. :)

So cute! It’s nice to have a beach so close. We are about 35 minutes away and still working on becoming “beach goers.”
Can you even believe this weather? October and November maybe, but January!?! That is a great idea to go to the beach! I love all the pictures of your girls. You will have to take one of them walking down to the water every year!
I am so jealous of the weather and the beach. They will be best friends forever won’t they?
love that you call it “our beach” and yes–it does seem wierd to put them in swim suits in january, I would have went with the dresses too.
I did the same thing with Eden this morning and it was so fun! Love all the adorable pics!
See, this is why I get so jealous of your beach! Distance/beach, distance/beach- it’s a toss up!
P.S. The pictures of your kids are too cute!
WOW! Those pics are so awesome, we really need to find a way to visit you. The one time I was in San Diego at the beach it was freezing and the wind was blowing so hard we didn’t get to do anything. :( I love the pic at the end, you should put that somewhere in your house. :)
Seriously, this makes me sooooo jealous Erin. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you are all at the beach. First of all, your girls are just so incredibly darling. I love every picture you take of them.
Let me tell you why I am jealous, it is -17 here in Indiana right now. I know, it totally sucks. Jeriah is definitely getting his PhD where it is warmer, that is a MUST that we have discussed. haha
Erin, it is so fun checking your blog, you always make life seem more enjoyable, plus, you’re just a bundle of joy as well. I love your darling family.
I’m so totally jealous of your Beach Day!! It looks so nice.
And I’m just getting caught up on a few days away from the blogging world….I’m glad I’m not the only one that just lets them play and not worry about getting dressed or doing their hair by mid afternoon!! LOVE those kind of days!
The last pic of the girls is priceless! You must frame it and put it up in about 10 years to remind them that they were/are BFF:) I love it when siblings lean on each other for support especially when it just comes so naturally to the older one to “lend the hand”.
Oh those are so cute! The girls are beautiful and the ocean is beautiful, what great pictures! Now I am just more anxious to come visit you guys!
How would it be to live right by the beach!!! That looks like soooo much fun! You are so lucky to get such fun shots of them at the beach. Lucky little girls!!
