We are soaking up and enjoying the last days of summer and I’m in no rush for it to end! But fall is right around the corner and I can’t help feeling excited for that too. School supplies, routines, and a schedule.. oh my! I do love a good schedule. :) You know what else I love about fall? The decor! It’s my favorite! Ok.. Christmas decor is actually my favorite. But fall decor takes a close second. :) I’ve been wanting to give our living room a re-fresh in darker tones so it felt like time to add a few touches of fall.
Almost everything new in this space is from the new Studio Mcgee line at Target and I couldn’t love it more! The colors are so rich and beautiful – cream, mahogany, chestnut brown, moss green.. they add so much warmth and richness to this space. Some items sold out already, but I heard they are re-stocking certain items soon so keep checking back if there’s something you love!
{amber glass vase/faux olive branches/ribbed glass candle/round marble end table}
I decided to bring my little marble end table into this space and love the way it ties in with everything. I added some of my favorite faux olive branches to a pretty amber vase and placed a candle next to them. Easy and done!
{oversized basketweave pillow/floral block pillow}
I love bringing a variety of patterns and textures in when I’m decorating for fall and these pillows made that so easy!
{woven geo striped pillow/green floral printed pillow/oversized woven windowpane pillow/color block boucle throw}
They are all so different but compliment one another so beautifully. Takes the guess work out of decorating!
I updated our photo wall with recent family pictures and added a fun fall print at the top. I like the little pop of something different! I might change the frame to black at some point.. always tweaking things around here. :)
I’m also excited about this new lamp! It comes in both a black and gold and is sold out at the moment, but I’m hoping it’s one of the items that comes back in stock!
{textured striped lumbar throw pillow/green basket weave knit throw}
Cozy green throws for the win! I’m going to pull in lots of green this fall throughout my home because #1 Green is beautiful and I love it! And #2 it will make things easy to transition to Christmas decor. This throw comes in several other colors too.
{dough bowl/vintage floral canvas/footed camel ceramic vase/smoked glass vase/cream vintage vase/homebody/made for living}
My shelves aren’t done (another area I’m always tweaking!), but I’m off to a good start with a few beautiful pieces.
{large magnolia leaf potted/rattan arched wall mirror/similar hexagon mirror here & here}
I’ve been wanting a new mirror for this space and I fell hard for this rattan mirror but it wasn’t quite big enough for this mantel. My solution? Time to layer! I love the mix of the two unique mirrors together. I also love these beautiful potted magnolia leaves!
{textured striped lumbar throw pillow}
I always get excited when it’s time to pull out the rust orange. Take me to the pumpkin patch!
{dark wood bowl/handled vintage vase/large fern/woven tray with handle/landscape canvas}
A few rich, warm accents on my shelves help complete the look!
{plum cimicifuga leaves/lid cream canister/small canister/similar gold tray}
I kept my coffee table decor simple with these beautiful faux plum cimicifuga leaves (love them!) and two cute little canisters on a gold tray.
I’ve loved my navy drapes but I’m thinking about switching them out for something more neutral at some point this year. We will have been in this house NINE years this October (can you believe that!?). I’ve been itching to update a few things and drapes are on my list!
So are light fixtures. I’ve been looking for something fun for this space and will share it as soon as I decide. I’m SLOW when it comes to decisions on items like light fixtures and large furniture because I know I’ll have them in my home for years. What will last another 9? :)
For now I’m enjoying these new fall updates that made this room feel brand new all over again!
Bring on the schedule! Fall I am almost ready for you. :)
Looks fabulous, Erin! I do like the rich, warm colors. The gallery wall is really wonderful. You made some beautiful choices. Have a fantastic day!
Thank you so much Jeanne! I’m so happy you like it! Enjoy your day too. :)
I’ve been thinking of fall, too. Very pretty looks!
I’m so happy you like it Kathy! It’s early but fun to start thinking about the beautiful decor. :) Thank you!
Good grief Erin! The heat has gone to your head! I love the Fall touches tho! I have mine at ready to pull out but with N.E. and such long winters I am enjoying July (BUT NOT the HEAT!) and will be thru Aug! My flags and buntings still up in the back with my adorable pineapple float in the pool! Can you believe Amazon cancelled the order and then reordered for me!? It is a slightly different pineapple but so cute just the same.! There has already been a fight over it…. not so cute. Maybe get another??? I have an idea for you and folks who are dreaming of pumpkins and wood smoke and bittersweet color mums ALREADY-in YOUR area. A PUMPKIN float for the pool! :) Want to do it!? I can see it now. We design a prototype, get it manufactured and go on shark tank! That would also be a good excuse for some new outfits ;-D

PS. HOLD OFF on the pumpkin spice candle till at least next month!
Ha ha.. a pumpkin float in the pool sounds like a fabulous idea! I’m going to have to look for that one. Works especially perfect here since we have hot temps through November! No pumpkin spice candle until kids go back to school mid August! That’s when I usually start fall decorating and will do the rest. This Mcgee/Target fall collection was just too beautiful to not display and share before it’s gone. :) You might need two pineapple floats at your house! We’ve had to do that before when one was especially popular with the kids. ;) XO
Wow…love the Fall finds!! I’m afraid I suffer from the same affliction…..start thinking and purchasing Fall and Christmas items in July 😳. Every year lol 😂
The purple branches really stood out and I will be purchasing. May I ask…,how many branches did you use for that pretty arrangement? Trying to get an idea of how many I’ll need to buy. Thank you in advance 💜
Lynn I’m so happy it’s not just me! Let’s blame it on the heat making us do crazy things. Ha. ;) Those branches are so beautiful in person.. you will love them! I ordered 6 and have 5 in the vase on my coffee table. I’m tempted to order more for other spaces! So pretty for fall. xo
Always stunning choices! I cannot believe you have been in your house 9 years! I have been following you for all this time. Since I am in Australia I often cannot purchase the things you share, but they are very inspiring.
Kym! Oh my word.. it means so much to me that you’ve been with me so long! Thank you. Sending you a huge hug! xo
Love it all!
Yea! Thank you so much Sandy! :)
Hi Erin, we are in Arizona and so ready for fall. Can you share where your formal living room rug is from? It’s a toss up between your family room rug and living room rug for our bedroom.
which do you like better? . 🤔 also I am sooo getting that fall green pillow at target this weekend. Thank you for your inspiration.
Hi Penny! Thank you so much! I hope you’re surviving the heat.. I know how toasty AZ gets this time of year! My formal living room rug is from Restoration Hardware (I bought it years ago) and I don’t think they sell it anymore. I absolutely love our wool jute rug in the family room! I wrote more details about it in this post. :)

Thank you so much Melinda! So sweet of you! You made my night. :) We are still in full on summer mode over here too but getting excited! And this collection was too good not to share. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! xo
Oh my goodness, I wasn’t even THINKING about fall until I saw your post. These colors are so gorgeous. I love the warm, layered look.
Thank you so much Ashley! Still a ways away but getting excited! :)
Love, love, love it all! Where did you get the large vase sitting on your coffee table?
Thank you so much Melissa! That vase was from CB2 but it sold out! :(
