Sharing pics of one of my kitchen cupboards today! I updated it a bit for Spring. I have been slowly changing the colors in my kitchen and I’m only half way there. My kitchen right now is making me laugh! I’m bringing in more of the blues but I still have a lot of the reds and greens. It’s just a really colorful space. I call it the RAINBOW kitchen. I’m kind of using this house to experiment with different looks and colors so I know exactly how I want to decorate my new house. But let’s face it. I change my decor around about as often as I visit Pottery Barn. I’m sure whatever I start with in my new house won’t last for too long. :)
I can’t find a “before pic” of this cupboard but here is what it looks like (for now).
Same dishes I had before, but I re-arranged things and added some pops of blue.
The left side…
and the right. Do you recognize the aqua letter R?
It’s the one I painted for my Fall wreath. It was just hanging out once December hit and I took my Fall wreath down. It’s happy to have a home again (for now).
My favorite part of the shelf is this butterfly plate I recently bought at Pier One. Isn’t she beautiful!? LOVE this for Spring. I bought it to go on my Spring mantel but it just didn’t look right. Actually nothing is looking right on my mantel. I’ve had it about ten different ways and still haven’t found the winning combination. Part of the problem might be that I only have 3 minutes here and 2 minutes there to actually play around with it. Oh well! As long as I have it done before next Fall I’ll be happy. I’m so busy right now. Expectations are being set pretty low these days! As long as kids are fed and we all have clean clothes to wear I label the day a success. :)
So even though my kitchen cupboard has a lot of the old mixed in with the new, at least it sort of ties in with the rest of my kitchen…
A rainbow cupboard for a rainbow kitchen!
Works for me (for now). :)
xoxo, Erin
Beautiful colors in your kitchen.
Love the colors. I have been looking for some pillows for my couch. I want to bring in yellow. I only found one that I love at Bed Bath And Beyond. I guess I will have to order the others.
Love the new look.
Happy spring,
Cathy
Please!!!! Tell me where you got the towel holder!!!!! Love it!
I love the blue letter displayed in your cupboard like that. I love reading your blog! Everything always looks so nice! I also saw that Cherry Ice Chapstick you said was great, so I bought one, LOL , It is great !! Funny the things we read on blogs & learn. Keep up the great posts, always fun to read !
Erin, I love reading your blog!!!! You always post so many awesome stories and pictures of your beautiful home and beautiful family!!! I am totally loving your springy kitchen and love your eye for decor items. You make me really wish I had a lot more stores to shop from instead of just a walmart, lol!! (we live in a really small town) One of these days, I am going to go scout out some colorful items to add to my kitchen and family room.
I love the colour. BTW- I am so excited for you for your new house! I love hearing about others planning their new homes. In about 15-20 years (when we downsize) I’ll be doing the same. Lol
Looks perfectly bright and clean and shiny and colorful. Love it.
Hi Erin! I have been reading your bolg for a few months now and I LOVE it! You have really inspired me to get my house more organized and decorate. We have lived in our house for 4 years now but like you I have small kids and I really find it hard to find the time to do it! But reading you blog and seeing all your pictures has given me the motivation I need! Did you get hose hand towels at Anthropolgy? I think I saw the one with the bird and love it! I need to go back for it-was thinking of framing it-I just love the colors! Happy spring! Danielle
Erin – I love your blog as well! I’ve been reading it daily for several weeks now. I am also dying to know where you purchased that towel holder in the kitchen. I love it! Thanks for all the inspiration.
I absolutely LOVE reading about and seeing photos of your home decor. I get ideas every day when I read your blog! Thanks so much, Erin!
Love the blue and your cute kitchen towels.
Thanks so much everyone! Your sweet comments put me in the best mood this morning! :)
Ok – the bird tea towel and apron are from Anthropologie. They have so many fun patterns to choose from! The towel rack is from Tai Pan. I don’t think Tai Pan has a website (maybe I’m wrong about that?) but they are Utah based stores. I do believe there is one in California? Anyway – google Tai Pan and check it out. I bought the towel holder a few years ago though so I’m not sure if it is something they still carry.
Thanks again for all of the sweet words about my blog!
Oh and Reenie – LOVE that you bought Cherry Ice Chapstick. HA! You will be addicted soon like me!! :)
super cute! love the pops of color!

Reading this post reminded me that I never even put out the Easter decor this year!
I sure hope the bunny doesn’t skip us! ;)
Cute plate arranging!
I totally have those Pier 1 bird dishes (yours are yellow/orange) – but mine are in green, four of them hung on either side of my kitchen window. They’re the cutest little plates!
I LOVE the rainbow look! And yes, I must get my hands on one of those towel racks (and I would love it if someone would invent something similar for the larger towels hanging around my backdoor for those 10 dirty little feet/paws coming and going from the yard on an hourly (half-hourly?) basis). Happy Spring!
Your kitchen is adorable! I love the aqua color it looks so good with all of your other colors and just pops! Thanks for sharing with us!
Fun and happy. I’ve been incorporating some lime as a pop color. Thought of you when I was at Anthro today and found the cute little lime green mini canister.
LOVE it!!! Gorgeous colourful kitchen!! Thats gotta make you smile :)
I love the colors in your kitchen
PRETTY! love those dishes and the bright colors!
I just discovered your blog and have really enjoyed reading it-I love organizing too. I would love to know where you got your beautiful gold, red, green, and purple dishes. I would love a set of those! Thank you and keep writing! Susan
Thanks Susan!
You know – I’ve had those dishes for years. I bought them at a store that has since gone out of business. (A little specialty store called Homeworks.) The brand is Signature – you may have some luck looking up that brand. I’m not sure if they still make them or not. Hope that helps!
