Quick trip to Texas/Magnolia

Trip to Magnolia (Sunny Side Up)

Hello from Texas! Kole and El had the same spring break this week and Ellie hasn’t been to Texas to see her sister this year so we decided that since the whole family couldn’t go on a trip together the 4 of us would just travel to Texas for a few days! So fun being with my crew all together again (I know all moms of older kids get it!). We spent one afternoon at Magnolia and timed it just right with weather. Everything was so beautiful! Sharing some pics I took below! Major spring vibes and if you are still mucking your way through winter let these pics get you by until you start seeing spring in your neck of the woods!

Before we head outside though we need to do some shopping together. Hello gorgeous home decor! This store is TOO much fun.

Ad is the only one who will shop with me and she only lasted about 15 minutes. Ha. I could look at home decor for hours! But I was strong and left after 30 min. Only because I know I’ll be back! :)

Stores like this are my happy place.

I wanted to take it all home! When you visit Magnolia if you spend over $100 they will ship things for free. Most of it you can get on their website too! Their new spring collection is so good this year!

These are some of the items I was most excited about! You’ll see a few of these around my house soon. :)

The boys and El had fun chilling on the grass and playing games while Ad and I were shopping. A beautiful day at Magnolia!

The next morning we ate at Magnolia Table. We haven’t been there before! We went around 10 am so it was their brunch menu and it was AMAZING. There are about 10 things on the menu I want to try so we will definitely go again next time we visit! Excited to try the dinner menu too. If you are planning a trip make sure to book the restaurant early! Spots fill up quickly. I got our reservation about a week in advance.

That afternoon we went on a tour of Baylor with our favorite Baylor tour guide. :) So funny because when Kenny and I were visiting colleges with the kids we always said to each other that we could totally see Addison giving tours one day. It’s so her! She loves people, she loves getting involved in school activities and public speaking comes so easily to her. Feels full circle to see her working as one now! We didn’t tell the other people on the tour we were her family because we didn’t want to throw her off her game.. ha. I tried to not stand too close to her because I’ve been told we kinda look alike. ;) Ellie got to see her dorm later that day and we took some of her cute friends to dinner. So fun being in her world for a few days! Proud of my college girls and all the new fun things they are doing.

Good-bye Waco! Until next time.

  1. I saw you and your family at the Austin airport on Wednesday! Did not want to bother you and your family so did not say hi but looks like you had a fun trip!

  2. How wonderful for you all to get together in Addie’s new neck of the woods. Looks like a great time was had by all. Thank you for sharing a bitty slice of your heaven!

  3. Erin,
Love this post! Magnolia looked so wonderful! If I was there, I would have to tell whoever was waiting for me that I saw the “‘”spaceship” out on the side lawn just waiting
for me so, I had to remain in the store till the coast was clear! ;) I think that line would work for you too! HA!
The family pics were fab. So glad you could do this with them. BTW, how did you get that much taller than the girls, heels?
Oh, BTW, I FINALLY ordered the travel cosmetic bag when you had the link up again just recently. I may go back and get that backpack next! The cosmetic bag w/the 2 zippers let you really pack it and zip around and zippers meet in the middle. That is the charm. I have had other bags of similar size, dividers and pockets, but the magic is in the zippers for a stuffed bag!
Going to look this post over again w/all the magnolia stuff!

    1. Sherri I agree! The zippers are where it’s at with that bag! :) So happy you liked this post.. thank you! And yes! I’m wearing wedge sandals that are so high in the Magnolia pics! They always make me feel tall. It’s all an illusion.. ha. ;)

  4. Hi! This is such a fun post to read. I’ve subscribed to your blog for several years (from Northern California) and have a freshman son at Baylor. When I visited him in February, we met up at the welcome center, and I was 99% sure I saw your daughter. Your daughter and I were both in the bathroom (so random!), and she was changing into her work clothes. I almost said, “Is your mom sunny side up?!” But then thought maybe it wasn’t her. Now, I am SURE it was her. She is a cutie! How fun that you got to visit with your whole family! My middle kid (senior daughter in high school) will join her brother at Baylor in the Fall. Sic ’em, Bears! Hope to run into you at the Baylor campus some time and will say hello!

    1. Oh my word Tracey! Love that! Definitely say hi next time if you see her! So fun that your son is a freshman there too. I wonder if they have met!? Ad is having the best time and we are so impressed with that school. How fun you’ll have two of your kids there together soon! I keep trying to talk Kole into going there too when he graduates but he doesn’t think he can handle the Texas heat.. ha. :) I hope I see you there at some point! I would love to meet you and your sweet kids in person! xo
