Saturday 6 (Amazon favorites!)

1 – VALENTINE’S DAY

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{etu home rectangle board/etu round board/rectangle board/

Happy Saturday! I hope you had a nice week and a happy Valentine’s Day! As soon as I made my pretzel hugs on the 14th the holiday felt official. :)

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{pretzel hugs}

I had fun delivering them to friends with these lipsticks. My girls were so excited to get the lipgloss and hugs too! We had dinner with friends on the 13th and some family time on the 14th.. it was a good year!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{THEN}

Me and my Valentine in 1993. :)

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{NOW}

And now. Standing in the exact spot in our old High school where we met. I’m so happy the girl who was supposed to take me home after dance practice that day during my sophomore year decided to flirt with Kenny’s friend instead. Ha. (You can read our story here.. an old blog post I wrote on our 13th wedding anniversary! The post made me laugh because we haven’t changed at all!) This year we will celebrate our 27th. Growing up and growing old together. :)

{THEN}

My other 3 Valentine’s in 2011. Just want to squeeze those sweet cheeks!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{NOW}

And today. Where does the time go? Feeling extra grateful for these 4 this year. My everything!

2 – SPRING CANDLE

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{rattan candle/marble lazy susan/faux peonies/concrete planter/similar vase/capiz jar candle/gold candle snuffer/

brass salt mill/brass pepper mill/also sold here – gold salt & pepper mill}

Moving on to some recent favorites! I’m mostly sharing Amazon favorites today but I had to also mention this rattan candle because it’s definitely a favorite and it sold out quickly last year. I bought a similar candle last spring and it was hands down my favorite to have displayed all through spring and summer. I’m so happy Anthro brought it back again this year! I always save my candle jars (especially cute jars like these two!) even after the candles are gone. They always make great home decor!

3 – STEMS/VASE

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{modern vase/plum blossoms/rattan candle/similar black pot/vintage peonies (2 packs)/rectangle serving board}

Ok.. how good is this vase and these stems!? All Amazon!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

The texture on this vase makes it look a lot more expensive than it is and I love the smaller top (you don’t have to use as many branches!). These stems come in a set of 4 and this is one set. I could easily use 2 sets for a fuller look but I kind of like it more sparse like this! The peonies are also Amazon favorites I recently shared. I ordered the vintage soft pink peonies to try and love them! (This is 2 bundles of the peonies.) Such a good price for all of these fun spring finds!

4 – COLLAPSIBLE MICROWAVE COVERS

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{Collapsible Microwave Covers}

I’ve had these for a while and keep forgetting to share them but I’m in love! They are covers for the food you put in the microwave! Does anyone else hate cleaning up the messes when food explodes!? Ha. My kids love messy foods like pasta and it drives me crazy when the sauce gets all over the microwave. These come in a set of 3 OR you can just buy one size. They are easy to expand and collapse!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{taco soup recipe}

Taco soup is another frequent favorite that makes a mess at my house. This small cover works perfectly over bowls!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

You can also flip them upside down and use them as a strainer.

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

They collapse thin so they are easy to store!  They also wash easily and you can put them in the dishwasher. Seriously a game changer at our house!

5 – PIZZA STORAGE CONTAINER

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up){Pizza Storage Container}

This is a recent Amazon find that I just got and can’t wait to use! FINALLY! A pizza storage container. Anyone else tired of trying to squeeze a full pizza box in your fridge for leftovers?

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)It comes with 5 dividers to lay slices of pizza on but you could definitely store even more if you didn’t separate every slice.

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

The bottom expands to fit all the pizza slices!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I don’t know where this has been all my life but I know I will never go without it again! Excited to test it this week. We have pizza all the time with all of the teens coming and going and I’m so excited to have a solution for leftovers that doesn’t take up my whole fridge. THANK YOU to whoever invented this one!

6 – STEAMERS

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{Handheld Steamer}

I’ve been using this steamer for over 6 months now and really like it. I had one before that was good, but it didn’t feel as powerful as I wanted it to be for bigger jobs like steaming bedding or really wrinkled clothing. This steamer works great!

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{Mini Steam Iron}

It’s on the bigger size so I also picked up this adorable mini steam iron for travel! It’s the perfect size to toss in your bag.

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

The handle flips around to use and it comes with a little plate to set it on when it’s hot.

Amazon Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

So excited about this! I’m traveling with it soon and will report back!

I hope you liked seeing some of my Amazon favorites! I’ll be back tomorrow with my Sunday Edit. Enjoy your weekend! :)

The Sunday Edit

Happy Sunday! I’m kicking off a new blog post series today called The Sunday Edit! For years I’ve been pulling together all the things I see on-line and love into collages for IG stories. Sometimes I sprinkle my collages in blog posts, but I thought it might be fun and helpful to add a new blog post each week where all of my collages from the week are together in one place. That way if you miss my IG stories and enjoy getting ideas from these collages you can check out my Sunday post! If you aren’t interested in the collages you can just tune in for my other blog posts. Overall I hope sharing fun options I’m seeing on-line at different price points helps with gifts for loved ones, ideas for decorating and organizing your home and of course.. cute things to wear each season! Enjoy the Sunday Edit and enjoy the Super Bowl if you’re watching! I’m tuning in for Taylor, halftime, the commercials and the chip dip. ;)

Saturday 6

1 – RAIN & FRIENDS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Saturday! Sharing a few things going on around here! Six things to be exact. :) What a rainy week we had!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

It has been wet to say the least but the sun is supposed to pop out this weekend and I’m excited! It’s always so beautiful and green after it rains.

I’ve also missed my morning walks! The treadmill just isn’t as easy to wake up for. Ha. I’m hoping the trail by my house dries out quickly so that I’m not sinking in mud next week! One thing that always helps me on dark, dreary weeks like this is getting out to meet friends. Everyone is busy, but I’ve found that prioritizing a quick lunch with a friend or two (or three!) works wonders for my overall mood and is especially helpful on bad weather weeks. Sometimes I’ll even meet friends for just 30 or 40 minutes before we pick up kids from school for a quick diet coke! I alway notice my overall energy and mood are instantly boosted after seeing friends. If you have been feeling down at all because of weather or for any other reason reach out to a friend this weekend and schedule something for next week!  My favorite medicine. :)

2 – ORGANIZED JEANS

Organized Jeans (Sunny Side Up)

I didn’t get as much organizing done this week as I wanted to but I did finish one project that I’ve been putting off for over a year! I finally went through my jeans! It took me a few days (I only had time for 15-20 min a day and I tried on every pair) but I’m happy to sat that the floor pile is finally gone.

Organized Jeans (Sunny Side Up)

{similar hangers}

Ta-da! I only kept jeans that I really love and wear often. This wasn’t easy for me and I knew it wouldn’t be which is why I put it off for so long! I love clothes and jeans and often have a hard time parting with them (the reason I struggle to keep my closet clean!). The funny thing is that I actually think I’ll wear more of a variety now that I have less jeans! When I had too many and they weren’t organized I kept just grabbing the same pair to wear over and over. It was too hard to mix it up and find what I needed!

Organized Jeans (Sunny Side Up)

YEA for small tasks that make a HUGE difference. I can’t even begin to express how nice it feels to have that done! On to the next section of my closet this weekend!

3 – PEONIES

Peonies (Sunny Side Up)

{amazon peonies}

{marble lazy susan/faux peonies/concrete planter/similar vase/capiz jar candle/gold candle snuffer/

brass salt mill/brass pepper mill/also sold here – gold salt & pepper mill}

I’ve shared my favorite faux peonies every spring for years! I love pulling them out in February. I ordered these faux peonies to try and can’t believe how realistic they look. Such an amazing price and so similar to my originals that were a lot more expensive!

4 – TULLE SKIRT

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{my amazon tulle skirt/love sweater//similar tulle skirt/similar love sweater}

A few weeks ago I saw this cute tulle skirt on-line at Anthro and fell in love! But I didn’t want to spend so much on an item I knew I wouldn’t wear as often so I looked around and found this cute option that I’m thrilled about! So fun for Valentine’s day or any other dressy event.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

5 – NEW RUG

New Rug (Sunny Side Up){cascade rug}

I’m giving my living room a little re-fresh and I started with a new rug! It’s very similar to my old rug (I still wanted something neutral and light in this space!) but without the wear and tear and stains from 10 years. :)

New Rug (Sunny Side Up)

Beautiful and soft and very affordable! I love the pattern too.

New Rug (Sunny Side Up)

Of course as soon as I laid it down I started my “if you give a mouse a cookie” moment. “Love the new rug.. wouldn’t a new dark coffee table look good with it? And for the chairs.. hmmm.. I could move this coffee table upstairs and..”

One new item always makes me want to re-do everything for an entirely new look! Anyone else? :)

6 – FAVORITE PILLOWS

{Brown Linen Pillow/Floral Linen Pillow}

I recently shared some pillows I’m loving lately and thought I’d show you what I ended up with in the family room. These two are favorites from fall that worked through the holidays and into winter and I’m keeping them out for spring too!

{green square pillow/frayed lumbar pillow}

The rest are cute patterns from Target! Love the texture on these two.

{brown oblong pillow/oversized square pillow/woven plaid pillow/velvet round throw pillow}

I also love that green is having such a moment in home decor because it’s always a staple color for me. :) The cute round velvet pillow comes in 3 colors and is such a fun accent!

{floral square pillow/multi-strip pillow}

This green floral pillow might be my very favorite.. I love it for spring!

{similar striped pillows/fruit & floral outdoor pillow}

I also picked up this cute fruit/floral outdoor pillow because they sell out so quickly before the weather warms up every year. Tried it in my outdoor area and it’s a keeper too! Nothing like a few new pillows to give your space a new lease on life!

That wraps up this week’s Saturday 6! Enjoy your weekend everyone! I’m excited for some time with family, some time with friends, a little organizing, a little football and lots of sunshine. :)

Kitchen Runners

{Kitchen Sources}

Hello hello! I’m popping in with some fun kitchen runner options today! These are all from Target so very affordable! I’ll share some options from a few other places this weekend too. A cute runner in the kitchen can add so much life, personality and warmth to your space! I love all five of the options I’m sharing today. (All of these runners come in other sizes too so really they are options for any space in your home!)

Rug

You can’t go wrong with green in my humble opinion. :) Cute and simple and so fun for spring and summer! I love that this works for the holidays too.. next December I would be set with this!

Rug

This is such a great neutral option! It’s so soft to walk on too! Reminds me a lot of my beloved wool/jute family room rug (the look and how it feels!).

This runner works with any and all decor. I love a good neutral rug!

Rug

This cute plaid pattern is giving me all the spring vibes! Another fun neutral. I think I’m going to try this in my laundry room too!

Rug

This rug looks black but it’s actually a deep grey. I love dark runners! They really ground your space. A dark runner also won’t show as much wear and tear!

So good!

Rug

Last but not least this cute tan/cream option! This runner added instant warmth to my kitchen when I laid it down. So beautiful.. I love the pattern. Another great neutral option that will work with any and all decor!

All so cute! Which is your favorite!?

I hope you’re having a good day! We are getting nonstop rain in southern Cal! The flooding hasn’t been too bad in my area but it’s definitely causing problems in others. I hope everyone affected is staying safe! My biggest fear when it rains like this is having my teenage drivers on the road. There are always so many accidents on the freeways when it rains! We aren’t used to any kind of weather here so it gets a little crazy. ;)

Saturday 6

1 – MEAN GIRLS PLAY

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Chateau Parka}

It’s Saturday 6! On a Sunday! Some things never change. ;) I have a good excuse for being late with this post though. We’ve been a little busy the past two weekends watching Ad perform as Cady in Mean Girls and we’ve gone to so many shows that I’m definitely behind on life in general! But completely worth it.. we are all so proud of her! It has been so fun to watch her in this role and to hang out with so many sweet friends who have come to support her.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

I’ve been so emotional the last two weeks about this one graduating from high school this June. I’m always emotional watching her sing and perform but knowing we are down to the second to last show she will do with the theatre company she has been with since she was a little girl has brought on all the tears! I’m trying to really focus on just being present and enjoying all of these beautiful moments with her, but it’s hard to not feel a deep sadness at the same time that this phase of life with all of my kids under my roof is coming to an end. She is growing up and I will miss her fiercely when she is away at college next year.

2 – 15 MIN ORGANIZING: PANTRY

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

What do I do when I’m feeling sad? Or anxious? Or happy? Or excited? Or any emotion really?

I organize. :)

My pantry was a disaster after the holidays and I kept putting off cleaning it because it felt overwhelming. I finally decided to just use my 15 minute a day trick and break it into smaller tasks. It ended up taking me 5 days! But I got it done. One night I turned on Harry Potter (I’ve been on a major Harry Potter kick lately) and just washed out the cereal containers.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

One day I just went through all of my cans.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

It had been a while since I last went through them and I knew there would be several that had expired!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Can Organizer}

Just a small project that only took 15 minutes but it felt amazing to have done! (Despite the fact that this scene gave me total Sleeping with the Enemy vibes.. ha.) I still love it!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

One day I just cleaned my pantry shelves.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

The next day I cleaned out these 3 drawers.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

One day I cleaned out my baskets.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Bag Storage Organizer/SpaceAid WrapNeat Dispenser & Cutter}

Along with the drawers below my baskets. (This drawer always stays organized thanks to these favorite organizers!)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Then it was done! I was going to clean off my pin boards on the left wall but they are full of my kids’ school work and sweet notes from friends and pictures. I decided that’s one spot I’m happy to leave messy. :)

3 – VALENTINE GIFT IDEAS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Heart Ring}

I got some fun mail this week when my cute heart ring arrived! I’m in love! I was going to send it to Kenny as a fun Valentine’s Day gift idea but then decided I didn’t want to wait until the 14th to wear it and what if he didn’t end up getting it? I was pretty sure it had to be mine.. ha. So a little gift to me from me that cheered me up immensely. :) I linked my other rings too. My actual wedding ring sits up so high off my finger that I don’t like wearing it daily because I’m always cleaning. I’ve had these beautiful stacking rings for a while now and they are perfect (and much more practical!) for every day.

Valentines Gifts

 {Cookbook / Gucci Perfume / Heart Dishes / Slippers / Candle / Ring / Westman Atelier Set / Charlotte Tilbury Kit}

Here are a few more cute Valentine’s Day gift ideas! I love celebrating all of the women in my life for Valentine’s Day and bought the Charlotte Tilbury mini lip stick for some of my girl friends to try. It’s a color that seems to look great on everyone!

4 – BOOT SOCKS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Ugg Boot Socks}

If you need a good pair of socks to wear with boots look no further! I have several pairs of these Ugg boot socks and just ordered one more. They are so good! Thick enough to be warm but not too thick and bulky. They stay up and are a perfect length plus they are just so soft and comfortable. My favorite socks for boots by far!

5 – TARGET FINDS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{cotton rope basket/jute woven storage basket/xxx L cotton rope basket/large herringbone weave basket/wool jute rug}

When I was decorating the corner of my family room I ordered a few baskets to try. I already had my rectangle basket but like it best next to my couch. I knew I wanted something round and with black! I ended up liking the rope basket best in that spot but I’m keeping the others too for blankets up in our theater room. Thought I would share because they are all cute baskets! The xxx L basket is so big and holds several pillows and blankets.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{planter pot/boston fern/marble bunny/ceramic green candle/small leaf succulent tray/black marble rectangle tray/crochet egg pillow}

A few other fun Target finds! I have a feeling the cute little marble bunny will sell out. Perfect to set on top of a stack of books or next to a vase with tulips in the spring! I love each of these items and will share them in my home soon! The fun egg pillow comes in 3 colors.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Here is the beautiful leaf succulent tray. I’ll probably move it outside when the weather gets warmer!

6 – ACCENT CHAIRS

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

Speaking of the corner in my living room.. my cute new accent chair has definitely become a family favorite!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

My kids are all close to my same height at the moment and this chair is a perfect size for us but I didn’t think my husband would sit in it much because he’s on the taller side. Guess where he has been landing every night after work? :) He sits down to go through mail and then stays a while watching and teasing me about whatever I turn on in the evening. (Started Lord of the Rings again after going through the Harry Potter series a few times). He loves the chair!  He does not love that I keep rewatching Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings over and over. I’ll mix it up at some point! When I’m ready.

Which might be a while. Ha. But lucky for him the chair is staying too.

Target Accent Chairs

{Top Left / Top Right / Middle Left / Middle Right / Bottom Left / Bottom Right}

A few other cute accent chairs I’m loving at Target right now which wraps up our Saturday 6!

On a Sunday. :)

Have a great week everyone!

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

{Thatcher Wingback Chair}//BEFORE

Happy February! January flew by so quickly for me this year and I’m grateful! Last year it felt like January lasted three months instead of one. Ha. I hope it was a good month for you! We are getting closer to warmer days. :) Today I’m sharing a little corner update in my family room! This pic above is a few years old but I wanted to share what this corner used to look like. My striped chair was the first item of furniture I bought for our new house over 10 years ago when we moved in! I loved it so much and still do, but I was ready for something new and a little more modern in this corner.

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

AFTER

This is how things are looking today.. such a fun refresh!

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

{Vernon Barrel Accent Chair/Tufted Ottoman/Floor Lamp/Jute Rug/Woven & Black Basket/

Cream Blanket/Green Blanket/Brown Blanket/Accent Ladder}

I fell hard for this accent chair and ottoman when they came out. I love the soft velvet, fun shapes, and modern vibe. They are a great price and come in multiple colors too!

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

{Floor Lamp}

I bought this floor lamp months ago for my living room and loved it so much in that space that I bought the same lamp for our family room. It’s so good! Perfection in my opinion. I also added this cute basket with black rope.. a great accent and I feel like I can never have enough baskets for blankets in this space! Especially in the winter.

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

A closer look at the lamp. :)

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

{Three Piece Accent Boxes/Faux Boston Fern/Ceramic Planter/Large Black Vase /Medium Black Vase /Metal Easle}

Always so fun styling shelves! I kept my favorite accent boxes and family picture displayed and moved my black vases in from the living room. They are back in stock and absolute favorites! The fern and brown planter are new additions that add a little life to this space.

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

{Arched Mantel Mirror/Framed Canvas/Woven Fireplace Vase/Faux Willow Spray/Brown Linen Pillow/Floral Linen Pillow}

My mantel is so simple but I love simple this time of year. Especially when I’m on a mission to de-clutter every corner of our home! I added some pretty willow branches to my woven vase and layered this fun canvas over my mirror. We got a lot of rain today so the fireplace was in action! So was my candle. Love days like that. :)

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

Overall it just feels so much more cozy and inviting and current in this space now! The blanket ladder and throws warm up the corner and I’m really enjoying darker moody colors at the moment.

Corner Update (Sunny Side Up)

Small updates can make a big impact. I’m so inspired to update other spots in our home now!

After I organize a few more drawers of course. :)

1 – 15 MIN ORGANIZING

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{mail drawer before}

Weekend is here and I’m kicking off my 6 things with some thoughts on organizing! I’ve been thinking a lot about why organizing 15-20 minutes a day is so effective. Organizing can be hard right!? A lot of decision making is involved which can be mentally exhausting. It’s easier to put off, but in the long run this delayed decision making is even more mentally exhausting. Constantly wasting time searching for things you need or looking at that pile or messy closet and thinking “I really need to clean this” takes a toll. Physical clutter and to-do’s that never get done cause mental clutter which can effect your stress levels, how you think, how you feel.. your overall mental health.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{mail drawer after}

Finally jumping in and making decisions and just getting it done is so liberating and knowing that you’re just organizing for 15-20 minutes makes it easier to start! Even if it’s a big project, just tell yourself you are going to chip away at it for 15 minutes a day. Quick wins and progress will motivate more organizing/decision making. Works like MAGIC. :)

My mail drawer had seen better days so I gave it a quick clean out. Looking so much better!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

I had a couple of these organizers left over from my junk drawer so I used them to hold stamps and packing tape.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{greeting card organizer}

Then I took a minute to clean out my card organizer. I’ve had this for years and still love and use it all the time!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

So nice having thank you notes and birthday cards, etc. on hand. Nothing like a hand written note to show someone you care. :)

2 – DINNER/SNACK PREP

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Now that I’m up and walking early in the morning I feel more motivated to eat healthy! Positive habits create such a domino effect don’t they!? It feels good to be prioritizing some exercise/me time again. This week I started working on having healthy snacks prepped in our fridge and on getting dinner ready early in the day for at least one or two nights a week. (This is an older pic but I’m doing basically the same thing so we have healthy snacks ready in the fridge to grab!)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

I’m planning to make some sheet pan dinners next week because they are easy to prep in the morning and then just set in the oven in the evening.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

I’m also doing a lot of crock pot meals because they are easy to prep early too. It feels so good to come home after a busy day and have dinner ready! I had lots of questions on IG about my crock pot so it’s linked below!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

1-non- stick cookware   2-slow cooker   3- kettle

4-mixer   5- air fryer   6-heart dutch oven   7- blender set

It comes in a a pretty pink too with this darling collection for Valentine’s Day!

3 – HEARTS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{fleece heart sweatshirt/fleece heart jogger pants/ugg slippers}

Speaking of Valentine’s Day and hearts.. I snapped a pic so you can see this cute set on. I’ve been living in it and don’t plan on taking it off anytime soon!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

1-love sweater   2-heart stud earrings   3- valentine heart plates

4-heart ring   5- heart sweatshirt   6-heart hoop earrings

I also couldn’t resist ordering this black love sweater and heart ring! I love the plates for a cute V-day tablescape too.

4 – PRODUCTS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Plump & Repair Lip Treatment}

Ok.. a few new products I have been loving! I have really thin lips (I always have!) which I am so fine with. I have zero desire to get lip filler (nothing against stuff like that at all.. I’m just not interested in having bigger lips!). That said, as I’m getting older I’m noticing my lips have more lines and are looking well.. older and even less plump than they usually do. :)  I’ve been using this plump & repair lip treatment here and there and I love it! It’s a great hydrating gloss and adds just a tiny bit of plumping. My lips look like they did 10 years ago which I love. Don’t buy this if you want a serious lip plumper! It’s so subtle that people won’t notice your lips look bigger which is why I love it! Your smile will just look beautiful and healthy. (Look at the before/after on the website.. it’s accurate!) Also it doesn’t sting when you put it on like some lip plumpers. I’m a fan! (You can also get it here.)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

You all know I LOVE this hair finishing stick for flyaways. I keep one in my purse and one in my car and use them daily!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

I recently tried this hair wax stick and didn’t like it as much for my hair (it was a little heavy and I like the lightweight hair finishing stick above better for flyaways), but I’m LOVING this for Kole’s hair in the morning! He can just rub a little bit on his wet hair and it keeps it in place. I also love that he doesn’t have to get it on his hands.. it’s easy to use so great for kids!

5 – PODCAST

I love listening to a good podcast! Especially when I’m driving alone in my car or organizing. I always have a podcast or audio book going! My favorite podcast I’ve loved for over a year is The Mel Robbins Podcast. I’m sure you’re already listening to it too, but if you aren’t.. look it up and check it out! She talks about so many things to improve your life in general. Great topics and she is so fun and down to earth. Her podcast is incredibly motivating and it has inspired me so much that I had to share. Let me know if you love it too!

6 – PILLOWS/OUTDOOR TARGET FAVS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

1- woven plaid pillow   2-textured woven pillow   3- velvet round pillow

4- striped lumbar pillow   5-egg throw pillow   6-floral square pillow

7-green square pillow   8-brown oblong pillow   9- oversized square pillow

I already have or ordered most of these and just love them all so much! CUTE pillows at Target right now. (Many of these come in multiple colors!) I’ve been loving greens and tans for winter and with pillows like this cute green floral they will transition beautifully to spring too! I’ll share them styled in my home soon. I have a few I forgot to collage but I’ll take pics!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

1-outdoor patio umbrella   2- indoor/outdoor planters   3- outdoor lantern

4- outdoor patio chair   5- floral lumbar pillow   6-green floral pillow

7- drinkware set   8- bar cart   9- double wide chaise lounge

10- outdoor cylinder pillow   11-accent table   12- artificial faux potted plant

Speaking of Target favorites this line of outdoor decor is just beautiful! I can’t decide what I love the most. The cute rattan and black planters!? The accent stool!? The chaise lounge!? Or the green glasses!? Clearly I love it all.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Also speaking of Target.. this beautiful floor lamp is finally back in stock! It comes in black and gold and sold out so quickly the first time around. I actually bought this cute floor lamp for this spot in my living room and moved the Target lamp to my bedroom recently! Both are such fun options. I’ll share them both photographed better soon. This isn’t a great pic of my Target lamp but it was all I could find and I wanted to share it quick before it sells out again!

That wraps up my Saturday 6! Enjoy your weekend everyone! :)

{antiqued metal tray/faux dogwood leaf arrangement/wood pedestal/oil bottle/vinegar bottle/

salt & pepper stack/similar marble salt & pepper/similar utensil crock here/and here}

I don’t know about your house but my house always feels a little strange in January! I take down Christmas and have a clean empty slate and then I take my time slowly adding life back here and there. It can be hard to know how to decorate this time of year! I just focus on adding a little warmth, but it usually takes me a full month before things feel fully decorated again. Probably because I’m spending most of my time organizing and decluttering! :) I’m still decorating my living/family room but thought I’d share a few things I have out in the kitchen. A good faux plant and/or stems always go a long way in January!

January Kitchen Styling (Sunny Side Up)

This heart board is so cute for just $15! I love this heart board too. A fun way to bring a little Valentine decor into your kitchen!

These peonies are a little taller than I’d like for this spot so I might eventually move them and put something else here, but I love a pop of pink this time of year when the weather can feel a little dreary. Keeping them here for now!

I have my long time favorite faux olive branches in my kitchen window. They are perfect to pull out in the winter!

I love starting a new year with some new kitchen towels. Just feels like a fresh clean start in so many ways! (These heart towels are so cute for the bathroom!)

{hanover pendant/rectangular board/quin ceramic vase/

These green leaf branches are also adding life to my home at the moment! They make me excited for spring! Moving them to my dining room table. I have 5 stems in this vase but you could definitely do a more sparse look with 3-4.

I know these are “little things” and I almost felt like they weren’t even worth a blog post! But I decided to share them today anyway because for me it’s the little things that add happiness to each day. A compliment from a random stranger at the grocery store, a funny text from a friend, a hug from one of my kids, a cute heart board in my kitchen. These are the things that make me smile.

The little things are the good things in life.

Valentine’s Day Porch and favorites

*affiliate links used

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

{RED & GOLD HOLIDAY PORCH}

Anyone else out there drag their feet about putting Christmas trees away? Just me? I can live with that. :) I NEVER get excited about putting away my Christmas trees and not because it’s work to put them away. I mean.. I don’t love that part either, but the main reason I dread taking them down is because I just love having the lights up as long as possible! I never get tired of Christmas tree lights. Especially when it’s still winter and gets dark outside so early in the evening.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

Years ago when I was sad to take my porch trees down I decided I just wouldn’t. Trees are winter and it’s still winter! I turned my Christmas porch into a Valentine’s Day porch (trees included) and loved it and have never looked back. Good-bye Christmas porch! You were good to us this year.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

{pink medley tulip wreath/pink & white tulip wreath/topiary balls}

I’ve been rounding up things to use for my Valentine porch including the cute tulip wreaths I bought a couple of weeks ago.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

{valentine’s large heart banner/small heart banner }

I also bought new banners this year because the banners I have are faded/torn from using them the past few years.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

For Christmas I had a beautiful holiday garden mix in this concrete round bowl planter from Amazon.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I went on a search for what might work in my planter instead and decided to try these artificial topiary balls. They come in a set of 2 and each set is separate like this until you attach them. Smart because they will be so much easier to store this way!

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I love the look! I ended up only using half of one for this planter.. it just tucked down right inside.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

Then I decided to put one together and see how it would look with my fluted outdoor planters. SO good! I’m going to use these in the spring! I set one on my Valentine’s Day porch and didn’t love just one on the right side. It looked best with 2 (one on each side of my door) and then I didn’t have room for my lanterns. I decided to just wait to use my artificial topiary balls in the spring because I want to use my lanterns for another couple of months, but I’m sharing them now in case you are looking for porch decor ideas! They are a beautiful no maintenance solution that will work year round.

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

flameless candles/pink & white tulip wreath/valentine’s large heart banner/small heart banner}

Valentine’s Day Porch! With Christmas trees included.

I’m a happy girl. :)

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I tried the pink medley tulip wreath on my front door too and loved both options!

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

{pink & white tulip wreath}

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I liked the pink and red wreath better up close but ended up choosing the pink & white tulip wreath because the white tulips worked well with the white flocked trees when I looked at my porch as a whole.

Like everyone else I make a lot of decisions each day that aren’t very fun. Which tulip wreath to use for the front door is the kind of decision I want more of in my life. Ha. ;)

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

I traded my gold starts for hearts and my poinsettias for pink peonies and I was set! So easy. (Thinking I’ll switch out these peonies I’m using for these cute peonies on Amazon! They are less expensive and then I can bring my PB peonies back inside.)

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

Valentine's Day Porch (Sunny Side Up)

The best part? I get to enjoy the lights a little bit longer. :)

So many cute things are coming out for Valentine’s Day so I linked lots of favorites below! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Saturday 6

*affiliate links used

Wrapping up another week.. I hope you had a good one! I’m sharing my Saturday 6 today and I’m kicking things off with a big accomplishment for me!

1 – 6 AM WALKSSaturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Yours truly woke up and walked every day this week from 6 to 7 am. You heard me right! This might not be a huge accomplishment for many, but for this night owl who hates waking up in the morning.. it’s huge. :) I truly never thought I could actually do it! I set a goal for myself to create a little morning routine this year and wake up an hour before I need to be awake to get Kole off to school. I also set a goal to get to bed earlier each night. I think this is going to actually happen for me this year! I’m very motivated because I’m so tired of feeling exhausted, starting my day off sluggish and not prioritizing exercise. I also think it helps that I’m starting slow. Walking is all I did this week (nothing else in the morning routine.. I didn’t even make my bed because Kenny was still in it!). I also told myself I would just do it for ONE week. That feels better than saying I’ll do this all year. On Sunday night I’ll set a goal to do it for another week. At some point I hope it just becomes a habit. It wasn’t easy.. I hate mornings and it was so dark and cold when I left my house! But after about 20 minutes the sun starts to pop up and it was just gorgeous.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

By the end of the walk it’s bright and beautiful. I felt SO good after each doing this every morning! Happy that I actually kept a promise I made to myself, energized from exercise and just in a good mood ready to start the day. Getting to bed at a good time is still a work in progress! I made it to bed before 11 one night but the next two nights I just couldn’t wrap things up after midnight so I’m definitely tired heading into the weekend. I’ll try to do better in that area next week. Taking this one day/night at a time. Ha.

For now I’m celebrating small wins. :)

2 – BLANKET BASKET

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{large herringbone basket/chunky wool jute rug}

I bought this basket to hold extra blankets and I’m loving it because it’s cute (fun pattern and leather handles!) but also because of the shape! Most of my baskets are round and I can fit several large blankets in this rectangle basket.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Plus it fits so nicely on the end of my couch. It would be perfect for kids’ toys too if you have young children!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

3 – OUTDOOR SIDE TABLE

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Last summer I bought some new outdoor side tables for this space and they sold out so quickly I never had a chance to share them!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Braxton outdoor side table}

They just came back in stock! Aren’t they beautiful!? LOVE that fluted design and white works with everything. They are such nice quality too. I have loved them and know they will sell out quickly again once things start warming up so I wanted to share them early!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{Braxton outdoor side table}

A few pics so you can see how they look! I snapped these quick with my phone today while I was walking out to check on my potted lemon trees.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

We got a good crop this year. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

It’s supposed to rain most of next week so I have been enjoying the sun while it’s out even though it’s deceiving because it’s so cold right now! I know it’s 10 times colder in most places (we’re wimps with cold weather here) so please stay warm and safe!

4 – FASHION

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{strawberry shortcake graphic t-shirt}

I had NO choice but to get this strawberry shortcake graphic t-shirt the second I saw it. It sums up my childhood! Well not completely.. but I was a huge strawberry shortcake fan and looked forward to those cartoons like Christmas every Saturday morning! I had all the dolls growing up.. Lemon Meringue, Blueberry Muffin, Plum Pudding, and of cours the Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak! Remember waking up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons!? I’m really dating myself with this one.. ha. I just couldn’t love this top more.. it brings back ALL the memories!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{funnel neck sweater/brigitte satchel}

This cute funnel neck sweater just went on sale! It comes in other colors too. Cozy and warm.. I’m finally enjoying my warm sweaters and coats this month! This cute brigitte satchel is a recent favorite purse that I couldn’t love more. It’s so soft! This style of purse comes in multiple colors and sizes. I’m personally loving a smaller purse at my current stage of life. I had large purses for so long full of all the things my kids needed.. it feels amazing to just carry around my phone, keys, lipgloss and a few credit cards! Plus I love to switch up my purses often and carrying around less makes that easy.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{brigitte satchel mini/fiona beaded bag}

This fiona beaded bag is another favorite from Anthro a friend gave me for Christmas. I have a thing for Anthro bags! But you probably already knew that. :)

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{the brigitte satchel mini/the brigitte satchel/brigitte satchel oversized}

This shows the 3 styles/sizes of this bag. LOVE them.

1- woven mini tote   2- the brigitte satchel   3-liberty sling bag

4-fiona beaded bag   5- woven liberty sling bag

6-baguette bag   7-beaded bag   8- love knot faux leather bag

A few more styles I’m loving right now! My favorite sling bag came out in a cute woven design too! That will be hard to resist.

At least I’m predictable. ;)

5 – KITCHEN ESSENTIALS

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

{ceramic mixing bowl set/oil bottle/vinegar bottle/colander/utensil set/measuring cups}

I bought these fun kitchen items for a gift for a friend and they are so cute I had to share them! (The brand is Figment.) I also had to order a few of these items for myself. HAD to. No option. I mean if my cooking supplies are this cute I might actually cook! ;)

6 – 20 YEARS OLD

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

My beautiful Ellie turned 20 on Friday!

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

How has it been 20 years!? I remember every single thing about this sweet bald baby. Who grew up to have the thickest hair I’ve ever seen! Ha.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

To know Ellie is to love her. She is the kindest soul you could meet. Full of empathy and love and so creative. The best big sister and daughter and friend imaginable. With my kids she is the glue that holds the 3 of them together.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

She has been having fun celebrating with friends but for her family party she just wanted to take us all to her favorite look out at the beach to watch the sunset together. Then Mexican food at her favorite spot close to the beach. She is my child who has always LOVED the beach! She goes more than any of us and is there several times a week. Often just to read a book or do homework.

Saturday 6 (Sunny Side Up)

It was a beautiful evening celebrating 20 years of Ellie.. we are so grateful for her! Perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Now if I can just sneak in a nap..

;)

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

It has been a productive week around here! I’m being ruthless when it comes to cleaning out spaces and it feels amazing. My storage attic was bursting at the seams and it feels so good to have room to breathe in that space again!

Organized Cookware & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

I’ve also been going through a few spots in my kitchen. Not horrible “befores” – these spaces have all been organized before (as you all know) but everything has been feeling overstuffed! I was having a hard time opening and closing this drawer and I’ve had these organizers since we moved in (about 10 years!). They are stained and crooked so I’m moving them under a cabinet. Time for a change!

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{handheld vacuum}

I grabbed my new BFF and went to work!

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{expandable kitchen drawer organizer}

15 minutes later I had this situation going on and I have to say.. I’m in love. :) Definitely an upgrade! This expandable kitchen drawer organizer is so nice! The sides pull out so it’s totally adjustable to fit any drawer size. It’s so nice and sturdy and I love the look. I keep opening and closing this drawer. Ha.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{egg spatula}

I only keep items we use all the time in this drawer and then I have a different drawer for items we use only use once in a while (the ice cream scoop, etc.)  This egg spatula is a favorite we use daily. It has a little ledge so you can rest it on the counter while you’re scrambling eggs without making a mess.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{meat chopper/magnetic measuring spoons/gold measuring cups & spoons/black measuring cups & spoons}

Also kind of obsessed with this meat chopper! Have you used it? My favorite companion when I’m getting hamburger cooked for our taco soup. :) I linked my favorite magnetic measuring spoons too!

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

So good.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

I loved my new cooking utensil drawer so much I decided the junk drawer needed a facelift too! I moved these grey organizers into my office and got to work.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

Are you excited? Why am I so excited? Ha.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{bamboo drawer organizer bin set}

Could not love this drawer any more either! Aren’t the bamboo organizers just a work of art!?

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{bamboo drawer organizer bin set}

This is the 5 piece set I used for my junk drawer and I ended up using two of them.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

{TUL gel pens/pilot extra fine black pens}

I love how the smaller bins can also fit inside the bigger bins. Of course things won’t stay this perfect longer than a day, but everything does have a place so it should be easy to keep relatively clean!

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

I love these organizers because you can adjust them so many different ways and they all fit together. It’s like putting together a fun puzzle when you’re figuring out the best way to use them. :)

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up){favorite gold scissors}

I have 4 pairs of these gold scissors all over the house (in offices and my closet)! They are my favorite if you need a good pair. I had a little extra room in the top right corner so I set my marble coasters there.

Organized Cooking Utensils & Junk Drawer (Sunny Side Up)

Feeling so good about this situation and wondering what else I can give a facelift to with these organizers. No drawer is safe! :)

{set of 6 drawer organizers with gold trim}

This is another set I saw on-line that look so pretty. I love the gold trim! Thinking of using them in my office or for some drawers in the girls’ bedrooms.

There is nothing like an organized drawer is there!?

They make me so happy! You too? I had a feeling. :)

Saturday 6

Happy Saturday! I’m so glad we made it to the weekend! This week wore me out and we only started school on Wednesday.. ha. Re-entry is brutal! I’m grateful for a weekend to catch my breath and do a little organizing. :) I thought it would be fun to try a new series this year! Saturday 6 where I share 6 things I’m loving every Saturday. Years ago I wrote Friday 5 posts with the same concept, but I always got busy and the post didn’t go up until Saturday or Sunday which was just not quite right. We’ll see if I can make this one happen. On Saturday! Wish me luck. ;)

1 – TARGET FINDS

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{lamp/target planter/12 in brown jug vase/7 in brown jug vase/faux dogwood plant/cream round bowl/oval wood tray}

Target always has fun new home collections to kick off the new year! These are a few things I ordered that I’ll share styled as soon as I style them! The vases and plant and wood tray are so good! I’m excited to start decorating.

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

I love the texture on this bowl too! Perfect for the coffee table. I linked a few other favorites I’m eyeing below!

2 – LOUNGE WEAR

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{cozy pullover sweatshirt/cozy jogger pants/ugg slippers}

So excited about this cozy top and joggers! They are the same set I bought a couple of years ago in a holiday pattern and they are back in stock in solid colors. So good! My favorite thing about this set is that it’s perfect to sleep in. They aren’t super thick and hot so I don’t over heat in them. They really are so comfy! I usually wear the Christmas set for months after Christmas so now I can transition into these for January. :)

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{fleece heart sweatshirt/fleece heart jogger pants}

I didn’t have time to take a pic in these but they are the cutest! A thicker material so better for really cold January days.

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{cozy vibes pjs/ugg slippers}

Also still loving in these cute pjs. COZY VIBES all the way. They transition so perfectly from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. I would just live in pjs if I could! I practically do this time of year. :)

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{modal half zip pullover}

Ok.. not pjs but this Zella pullover is so comfy it might as well be! It’s buttery soft and such a cute fit. It cinches at the waist so you can make it as tight or loose as you want. Perfect to throw on after exercise to run around in all day. The collar is so cute and it comes in several colors.

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

It also has thumbhole cuffs! Love it.

3 – GEOMETRY TOWELS

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{I love you towel/XO towel/heart towel}

Have you tried Geometry towels yet? If you haven’t you are in for a treat! I was beyond giddy when I discovered them last year at a Favorite Things party. They are the fastest drying towels EVER and what I reach for every time I’m drying dishes or drying my counter or drying anything! Trust me.. once you use them you won’t want to use anything else in the kitchen! I was thrilled when I discovered that now you can buy them on Amazon. They have lots of fun patterns and always come out with cute holiday options. Love these 3 for V day (my red heart towel is on its way). :)

4 – HANDHELD VACUUM

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{handheld vacuum}

I love this little hand held I’ve had for a while now but wanted one more good vacuum for organizing drawers that I could keep in my kitchen (moving the small one to my bathroom). This black & decker dustbuster packs a punch! Perfect for cleaning out drawers and spills. It has a little more power than my smallest handheld so I’m happy to have it for bigger messes too. You can never have too many handheld vacuums around the house in my opinion! Giving this a 10/10.

5 – T 3 HAIR ROLLERS

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{T 3 hot rollers}

It’s no secret I love all things T 3! I couldn’t wait to try these hot rollers when I saw them. I bought them for me and the girls for Christmas and I’ve had so much fun playing with them! They heat up SO fast and I only have to leave them in my hair 5-10 min. They do my hair for me while I’m putting on make-up. (Bonus!) My hair is pretty curly when I first take them out but then it quickly loosens and looks so salon done! The rollers really smooth my hair out and style it in half the time it takes me to use a curling iron or straight iron.

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

They just give your hair a soft smooth look! I’m in my hot roller era. Ha.

6 – TULIP WREATHS

Saturday 6 (Favorites - Sunny Side Up)

{pink medley tulip wreath/pink & white tulip wreath}

Aren’t these wreaths beautiful!? The tulips look so realistic and are perfect for both Valentine’s Day and all things spring. I love the bright colors! I couldn’t decide which one to get for my front door so I bought them both to try. I might keep one inside!

Sharing a few more favorites for Valentine’s Day I’m seeing on-line below and that wraps up this Saturday’s 6! I hope you like this series! I’m hoping it sticks. :)

Enjoy your weekend!
