Acrylic Vase & Favorites from Amazon

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{acrylic floral vase}

Well I’ve done it. I’ve found what might just be my favorite Amazon purchase. EVER. I know. That’s saying a lot right!? But seriously.. I am so in love with this acrylic floral vase! Ahhh! Look at the beautiful arrangement I made with it in MINUTES. I discovered this on Amazon and was so excited to try it out when it arrived that I totally spaced taking a picture of the vase before I put flowers in it! You can check it out on-line, but it basically has 24 circles (12 in each row). You slide the top off a little to add water and then slide it back on, cut up flowers and set them inside the circles! That’s it! You honestly don’t need any flower arranging skills to make a beautiful arrangement.

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

I used tulips and little white flowers as a filler. After I set my flowers in both sides of the circles I just filled in the middle (setting flowers in any circle so that I couldn’t see the vase/holes anymore). It’s a perfect table centerpiece for Easter or Mother’s Day or any event really! It would be beautiful just as decor too.. on an entry table or the kitchen or a coffee table. You can use this year round! My mind is spinning with ideas! Oh think about it filled with greenery during December!

You’re definiltey going to be seeing this styled a time or two.

Or twenty. :)

After my flower arrangement in my new vase took no time and turned out even more beautiful than I pictured, I decided this was my most favorite Amazon purchase ever. I wanted to make sure I felt that way so I started thinking about all of my favorites from Amazon. It was hard narrowing my list down! I have so many Amazon favorites that I use and love. I’m sure we all do. I narrowed it down to the items I truly use daily or just LOVE and would buy again in a heartbeat. Can you guess what some are? :)

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{handheld vacuum cleaner/gel pens}

My junk drawer holds two of them! My favorite pens and my favorite little hand held vacuum I use to keep my drawers clean. Purchases that get used daily!

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{gold candle holders/battery operated candles}

My flameless candles are definitely among my favorites! I love having candles on in the evening. It just adds such a cozy glow! Even in the summer I have candles out, but I always worry about starting my house on fire – ha. These are battery operated, have a remote and look so real! I love turning them on in the evening and watching them flicker. I’ve ordered so many of them and have given them as gifts to friends who now love them too!

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

I especially love them for my tables during the holidays. The most beautiful AND safest way to entertain! :)

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{ivory leather storage boxes/fern leaf in pot/tappered jar/display easel/thatcher chair/floral block print pillow/similar pink pom throw/metal floor lamp}

These leather boxes definitely make my favorite list. I switch my decor around often and every time I re-style these shelves my boxes are the only item that stays put! They are large and so beautiful and just look perfect on a shelf. A little pricey for Amazon, but worth it! The gold hardware alone makes a beautiful statement.

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{vanity mirror/table lamp}

The black mirrors and table lamps in my bedroom are also favorites! They completely transformed the look of my bedroom even before I added my new bed.

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

So good!

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{large storage bags}

Of course I have to include my storage bags. LOVE them for pillows and throws. But you knew that already. :)

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{travel makeup bag}

This has been my favorite go-to travel bag for a long time now. I really love it. I recently I ordered this large capacity bag also and I’m excited to try it. I can’t include it in my favorites list until I use it and see how much I like it so I’ll report back. :) But this bag pictured definitely gets my stamp of approval!

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

I especially love the place for make-up brushes in the top section.

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{travel bag with hanging hook/travel makeup bag/electronic organizer travel case/travel makeup organizer}

All good for travel!

Kitchen Styling (Sunny Side Up)

{set of two woven trays/tall terracotta vase/olive branches/gold mirror vanity tray/hanover kitchen pendants}

I also had to include my olive branches. I mean how many times have you seen them styled in my home?

Don’t answer that. Ha. Hands down my favorite faux branch. They work during all seasons and in most vases and are so easy to style!

1- flameless candles   2-gel pens   3- screen cleaner

4-mascara   5- water bottle stackable holders

6- handheld vacuum cleaner   7-water bottle belt   8- battery organizer

Other favorites include Screen Mom (my favorite screen cleaner), my favorite Maybeline mascara that I order over and over, my stackable water bottle organizers (have I shared them before!? I need to take a current pic.), my water bottle belt and of course.. my battery organizer. :) The water bottle belt I wear every time Kenny and I walk/hike which is every night that it isn’t raining. He teases me about it non-stop and calls it my “tool belt” because I fill it so full of things. I don’t care! If I’m thirsty I have water. If my lips are chapped I have my Cherry Ice Chapstick. If the kids need me I have my cell phone. Laugh all you want babe.. I come prepared. :)

1- vanity mirror   2- table lamp   3-leather boxes

4-olive branches   5-gold flatware

6-large storage bags   7-travel makeup bag   8-sheet set

I also couldn’t forget my favorite sheets! They are on every bed in our house! I love and use my gold flatware so much too.

I have many more items that have been great Amazon purchases, but these are the things I really use and love the most. :) What would be on your Amazon favorites list? Kind of a fun thing to narrow down!

Favorite Amazon Purchases (Sunny Side Up)

{acrylic floral vase}

My new vase has moved into a top spot on my list pretty quick!

Since we’re talking Amazon, below are some beautiful kitchen finds!

Have the best Friday! YEA. We made it to the end of the week. :)

Organized Decor Closet & Buffet

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I’m kicking off today’s post with lots of clutter. Just what you wanted right? ;) I’ve shared this decor closet before but yikes.. it might have hit a new low kicking off 2023. I love decorating and sharing ideas with all of you. I also love any and all home decor.. vases especially. As you all know. :) What I don’t love is how quickly my vase/home decor obsession can take over my house. I was due for an edit!

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Whenever I’m organizing a space like this I take EVERYTHING out. So my entry looked like this for a few days.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

And my hallways looked like this.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

But that wasn’t enough mess and clutter and chaos for me. Oh no. I decided mid clean out to take things next level and empty my dining room buffet too.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

And my white built-ins. Because why not?

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Since I didn’t want the top cabinets to feel left out I took everything out of them too. Time for a change. And more clutter to add to the hallway!

Seriously we lived in such a mess for a while!

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I finally got through everything and was ruthless about what I kept. This was just part of what left my house. I gave some to friends and took the rest to Goodwill.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Remember this scary before?

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Here is the after. You heard them! Angels are back and singing louder than ever. ;) What a difference right!? This feels amazing. I only kept things I LOVE and USE OFTEN. That was what I asked myself as I looked at each item. Do I LOVE this? Do I decorate with it often?

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

The top shelf is holding the clear and blue vases and jars I use in the summer when we entertain in the yard. Other vases and bowls are below.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I even had room for the trays I’m not using at the moment on my shorter shelf. I wish I could have donated all of Kenny’s motorcycle jackets since I don’t love and use them. Ha. Not an option.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I set art/prints I’m not using at the moment and a few larger vases on the bottom right.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Plants and pots on the bottom left.. those will be emerging more in the summer. And an empty shelf above them!

We love an empty shelf don’t we!?

Yes we do.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

{Large Montauk Rectangular Bins}

These baskets are so good! Mine are the large size – color is grey. I’ve had them for years and use them in a couple of other closets too. In my decor closet I use them to hold smaller seasonal items in Ziploc bags. Fall items are in this basket.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Easter decor here.. obviously. :)

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Summer items in this basket.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

And what’s that? Why an empty basket.

We love an empty basket don’t we!?

Yes we do.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

The navy buffet in my dining room is also looking so good on the inside!

{Dining Room Sources}

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas dishes, boards and placemats on the left.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Other seasonal dishes and placemats on the right.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

The top drawers hold my napkin rings and flatware holders.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

{gold flatware – rattan set sold out}

Flatware in the next drawer.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Cloth napkins in this drawer.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Cloth napkins and a few table runners on the end.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

These while built-in cabinets hold random seasonal items.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Only things I love and decorate with often! I didn’t take a pic of the drawers above these cupboards, but guess what.. they are empty!

We love an empty drawer don’t we!?

Yes we do.

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I don’t have an after for you of the clear built-ins yet because I might paint them before I style them. I pained the back of these cabinets grey initially, but the dark paint makes it hard to see items if they are muted which is why I’ve only decorated with white dishes. Time for a change!

I’ll keep you posted on that one. :)

Organized Decor Closet (Sunny Side Up)

This makeover isn’t anything spectacular, but I’m sharing it because I hope it motivates you to empty closets and cupboards that are overstuffed in your home. I’ve learned through years of experience that the only way to really stay organized is to live with less. Continue to edit your spaces and only keep what you love and use. Because I share decor for a living I have to go through my decor storage often, but other spaces I can clean out and keep clutter free for years. Find the hot spots in your home and just start! Pull everything out and live with the mess for a few days while you go through items and donate donate donate.

What was that?

Time to DONATE. :) The more you do it the easier it gets. Pass items on to someone else to enjoy while you enjoy a clean, clutter free space. It really is so freeing! When your home is clutter free so is your mind.

We love a clutter free mind don’t we!?

Yes we do!

:)

Weekend Favorites & Sales

*affiliate links used (weekend favorites & sales)

Made it to the weekend! I hope yours is going well so far! San Diego finally got some sun (still cold!) but so nice to see our blue sky again. We snapped these pics at a Bar Mitzvah we recently attended for one of Kole’s close friends. We had such a good time! The ceremony was beautiful and the party after was so much fun.

We even had El with us for part of the time (she was home for Spring Break!). I never got a pic of Kole and his friends in their cute little suits. They were living their best lives! Ha. Addison has been planning school events and performing in two different plays (Rent and Mama Mia) so she has been so busy. I loved that El got to see her performances.. timing was in our  favor! Plus it just felt so good having her home for a week and hearing all 3 of my kids talking and laughing. Now that El isn’t living at home I completely understand why my mom gets so happy every time her kids are all together. There is nothing like it. :)

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{natural wrap table lamps}

In other home news I found some cute lamps for Ad’s room! Love the rattan wrap and touch of gold and the cute shades.

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

This pic was from last year and not too much has changed. I got mostly done with this space and then couldn’t find lamps I loved (these are from our guest room) or anything for over her bed and then we got busy and my attention turned to other projects and I never finished her room!

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{jovie woven floor mirror/cora side table}

I found the perfect floor mirror for her room (tent sale!) so I ordered it and then got motivated to finish her space! The cute little end table is for my bedroom. :)

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

I’ll take some updated pics when it’s done. Might be nice if I can finish it before she graduates from high school in a year.. ha.

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{rattan plant stand/outdoor serving tray/black planter (on sale!)}

Two other recent favorites! I found these cute teak plant stands at Anthro and almost ordered them but kept looking and found this plant stand (that I like even more) for just $13! The outdoor serving tray is so beautiful, great quality and also a good price. Both so good!

Speaking of Anthro.. these are the items I did order! Many are on sale this weekend. I couldn’t resist the cute white eyelet plates. So excited to decorate my Easter table with them! (They come in dessert plates too!)

{1- eyelet crop top   2-skinny flare jeans}

25% off at Madewell this weekend and these jeans have amazing reviews! I’m excited to try them. The eyelet top comes in white too.. so cute for spring! The strange thing is that I can only see the white here at Nordstrom. The olive is mostly sold out there, but on sale here at Madewell. I wanted the olive so happy it’s on sale! Also speaking of Madewell favorites.. I haven’t taken a pic yet to share but for Christmas I got this leather overnight travel bag and LOVE it. It’s so beautiful and the perfect size for quick weekend trips. I’ve always been a huge fan of Madewell bags. The low key style and quality and size.. just my favorite. :)

1- wrap floral dress   2- short sleeve dress   3- rattan basket

4-bunny serving tray   5-slide sandal   6-large round serving tray

7-golden bunnies   8-bunny cake stand   9- crossbody bag

7-table lamp   8- artificial blossoms   9- vase

These are some beautiful Amazon home items I love too! I really want that set of bowls! But I organized my kitchen and need to donate old bowls if I’m going to buy them so still debating.. ha.

1-floor lamp   2- mango wood cheese board   3- serving bowl

4-azam mirror   5- throw   6 –pleat vase

Love these all so much. I have the serving boards (as you know!) and they are my most used pair. I have the serving bowl too and use it all the time. The throw is gorgeous for spring and comes in lots of colors!

1-comforter & shams set   2- large round serving tray

3- round serving board   4- arch mirror   5- celine throw

More Nordstrom Home favorites in my home! I don’t have the mirrors (but almost identical in my bedroom). The other items are long time favorites! I just pulled this celine throw out too and it’s so beautiful for spring. It also comes in other colors.

4-buckle slide sandal   5- quincy sandal

6-lucca slide sandal   7- ankle strap sandal   8- deacon sandal

1- basil mule heels   2- slide sandals   3- ankle strap sandal

4- mule heels   5-wedge heels   6- ania mule heels

If you’re looking for cute sandals at a lower price point check out Target! They have so many cute options! Almost identical to some of the Nordstrom sandals.

1-ruffle sleeve shirt   2-eyelet top

3- smocked-waist midi dress   4-linen shirt   5- raffia clutch

So many cute items! I tend to gravitate towards neutrals (or green!) but who can resist all of the fun, bright colors when it’s spring!? Such a happy season. Hang in there if it’s still cold where you live!

Sunny days are coming.

Carrot Vase and Easter Ideas

*affiliate links used – carrot vase and Easter Ideas
Carrot Vase/Easter Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

I hope you’re having a good week so far! It’s going by so quickly. We’ve had a lot going on with the kids and a lot of rain. I’m so excited for sunny, warm days! I’m also excited for Sprig Break and Easter. Hopefully they will both be accompanied by sunny, warm days. :)

You might remember in the Fall when I experimented with using mini pumpkins as a vase filler. I loved the way it turned out and it was such fun seasonal decor that I decided to try something similar for Easter. Instead of pumpkins I used carrots! I present to you.. my carrot vase. :) Kind of cute, right? Or is it just weird? Ha ha. My kids thought it was a little weird but I’m a fan. :)

Carrot Vase/Easter Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

It took TWO minutes to put this together. Probably why I love it so much! I arranged my flowers in the center of this glass vase and then just dumped a few bags of mini carrots around the stems. The carrots slid in so easily! Then when I got to the top of the vase I just set a few individual carrots inside to fill all the way to the top of the vase. Then add your water! What’s up, Doc? Easy and done.

Carrot Vase/Easter Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{glass vase/set of two woven trays/small marble bunny/similar wood bunny/small sage green vase/tulips – pack of 20}

I set it on my island as a cute little arrangement with my tulips (of course I did). Love this for Easter decor! It would also be fun as a centerpiece for an Easter table for dinner. Another idea is using several small vases in the middle of the table with carrots and flowers. Any flowers obviously work, but adding some orange is especially fun. :) I made this last week because I wanted to see how long it lasted. It looked beautiful for about 5 days and then it was time to change the water. It does take a little work emptying the carrots and setting them aside so you can dump the water and then fill the carrots back in around the flower stems again.

Carrot Vase/Easter Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Ideas like this with real items/food are better for short term decorating, but such a simple and inexpensive way to add some fun to your Easter table/decor!

Carrot Vase/Easter Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{white porcelain serving platters}

Speaking of carrots. :) Here are a few other fun ideas for Easter I’ve shared in the past! I can’t wait to make this again. Just like the carrot vase it takes no time and is so cute. Below are a few other fun ways to serve food and snacks for Spring/Easter get togethers.

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{cropped sweatshirt/high-rise wide leg sweatpants/ugg slippers}

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far! We have a non stop agenda (must be spring!) so I don’t have a lot of time to chat, but I do have some fun weekend favorites and sales to share with you! We can chat in my next post. ;) I’ve been loving these cute sweats lately! They are so fuzzy and soft and warm. Pants are high waisted and a cropped sweatshirt, but it isn’t too cropped which I love. It gives you the cropped look without showing your stomach! I sized down one in the pants (wearing xs top and bottom) but you could go either way. If you want a looser fit for the pants order your regular size. I love the wide leg at the bottom too!

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{raffia buckle slide/deacon sandal}

It’s still cold and I’m living in sweats and ugg slippers, but warm weather is coming and I will be ready with the cutest Sam Edelman sandals! These two pairs were too good to pass up! They are very similar and both are comfortable and a great fit. The raffia feels a little more casual while the deacon sandal has a dressy look, but they really both look cute and work with everything! Jeans, joggers, shorts, skirts.. perfect every day sandals for spring and summer!

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{free perfect tee/initial pendant necklace/ankle jogger pants/raffia buckle slide}

These black joggers are another fun find. They sold out in other colors or I would have snagged them in green too! But black works with everything. I sized down one in these just like with the grey sweat pants (I find that Target pants/joggers tend to run a little big). They are a really cute fit and very flattering!

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{fitted tee}

I threw this tee on quick just to share with you (I wouldn’t really wear this much black!). It’s such a good basic tee and only $10! The white was a little see through so I’m returning it and ordering a few other colors. Great for layering or just running around in the summer! I tend to live in tees and joggers when it gets hot so I’m pretty excited about these. :)

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{olaplex dry shampoo/olaplex bond protector/olaplex shampoo/olaplex conditioner}

I stalked up on my favorites for hair for my birthday last week. A little gift to me from me. :) Olaplex has been my favorite for a while now so I was thrilled when I heard they were coming out with a dry shampoo! I couldn’t wait to try it because I knew I would love it and I do! It’s so good.. leaves no residue and adds volume leaving your hair feeling fresh and clean. It has that amazing Olaplex smell too. The best. :) I love using the bond protector on my hair right after I shower when my hair is wet. It makes it so shiny and smooth when I blow it dry. I took it to one of my friend’s favorite things parties over the holidays and it was the first gift to get snatched up! A favorite for all. :)

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{square zip jewelry box/roll-up jewelry case}

These little jewelry cases are the cutest! Of course I couldn’t pass up the suns :) but this cute jewelry box comes in lots of other patterns too. The roll-up case is genius!

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

This is how they look when you open them! So clever right!?

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{square zip jewelry box/roll-up jewelry case}

The square box has two sections and the roll-up case has so many cute little sections for jewelry including a place for rings and stud earrings. Perfect for travel! I love giving little jewelry cases with a necklace or earrings inside for a gift. I stock up on things like this and then we have them for birthdays and other celebrations. They make a perfect gift for teen girls too!

Below are other fun things I have my eye on right now! There are so many fun things coming in for Spring – both home and fashion. Mcgee & Co has a fun tent sale going on right now and it’s so good! Major sale on things like my barstools and other favorites are marked down so low. Target and Walmart have fun home decor popping up (I feel like I bought everything GREEN in Target this spring.. ha!) and I’m sharing some fun Easter items too! Everything at Ballard Design is 20% off this weekend and everything at Madewell is 25% off! So many good sales. Many of the items in these collages below are sitting in my on-line cart at the moment so you might see them in the future. :)

Let me know your favorites from today’s post and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Spring Decorating

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{woven serving basket/frida vase/real touch white tulip/small marble bunny/similar wood bunny}

How is your week going!? It is pretty dreary in CA right now with all of this rain. Can you be grateful for something and hate it at the same time? Ha. I’m sure many of you are tired of cold and gloomy weather too and ready for sunshine! I have been doing a little spring decorating here and there and while I don’t have one room that’s totally finished yet, these small pops of spring are definitely improving my mood! It all started with a few black trays and tulips.

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{extra long woven basket tray/preserved moss (similar options here & here/eggs here/here/here/similar wooden bunny here & here/puff sleeve floral top/mother roller wide leg jeans/similar necklace/similar sandals/black hanover pendants}

Then I pulled out the speckled eggs and wood bunnies (no going back now).

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{roll arm couch}

Then I added a few new pillows in the rotation. (Sorry for the cell phone pics with bad lighting!)

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{blocked woven pillow/patchwork pillow}

Nothing says spring like a good floral print. :)

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{woven block print pillow/euro decorative pillow/windowpane pillow/stripe pattern pillow}

This large green euro pillow is about to be replaced with this windowpane pillow that’s coming. It sold out and I’ve been watching for it to come back in stock!

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{textural woven throw pillow/pink throw blanket/wool jute rug}

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{82″ artificial olive tree/iron planter with stand}

I ordered this cute olive tree a while back because I wanted something skinny for this spot.  Then I bought this planter to elevate it, but I’m going to make the tree even higher by stacking it inside of the pot too. On the to-do list for next week.

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

I love this skinny tree! It’s very realistic and perfect for any cozy corner.

Spring Decorating (Sunny Side Up)

{celia tray here & here/Simplicity/AD at 100/abstract gold link/ceramic vase/horizontal landscape canvas/small rounded box/large rounded box}

I’m slowly bringing in sage green and soft pinks. It’s working well with black decor I already had up for winter. Love these rounded sage boxes too!

I pulled my pink peonies out which is always a mood booster! Then I ordered this black planter for them and the size is perfect. This handwoven tray you’ve seen rotate all around my house for years is on sale right now for just $24! So good.

I decorated my console table the same as I had it last spring (still in love with this canvas!).

But I did swap the bowl I originally had here for this pretty sage leather tray. I love the way the green tray pulls out greens in the art.

These gold candle holders are so beautiful and a great price. Perfect size for my long time favorite battery operated candles. :)

These two needed a friend.

It might be gloomy and rainy outside, but some early spring decorating definitely brought a little sunshine inside.

I’ll take it.

Easter Decor Tray

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up){extra long woven basket tray}

Want to add some Easter decor to your home without going over the top? Not that anything is wrong with over the top. :) I’m sharing a fun Easter decor tray today that will help bring some sunshine and spring into your home! I recently bought this beautiful woven tray and was so excited to decorate with it for spring! I ordered it on-line and loved it even more when it arrived in person. It sat on my table and for a week with me thinking about what I wanted to do with it. The possibilities are endless! So many fun options were swirling through my head.

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I decided that for now I wanted to use it to bring some seasonal decor into my home so I filled it with this preserved moss (similar options here & here).

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{woven circle tray/eggs here/here/here/similar wooden bunny here & here – more options are at the bottom of this post!}

Then I pulled out my basket of eggs and my wooden Easter bunnies.

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I added my bunnies in the middle and sprinkled some eggs around them and done!

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Easy and stylish Easter decor. I tried adding faux flowers and a few other things but I just kept coming back to this look. Simple always wins for me! Less visual clutter and I like to see the greenery.

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{puff sleeve floral top/mother roller wide leg jeans/similar necklace/similar sandals/black hanover pendants}

Do the pose and jeans look familiar? :) Easy way to share both the decor and this cute new spring top I’m loving! Jeans have been on repeat for a week.

{Amarolo Narrow Console Table}

Remember this pretty narrow console table I put behind my couch last summer?

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I have loved having it as a place to set drinks and snacks at night and also as another fun spot in this space to decorate and add some personality!

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

It’s the perfect spot for my Easter decor tray. :) Really this tray would look cute on any table and it would make a perfect centerpiece for Easter dinner!

Thank you for all of the sweet birthday wishes over the weekend!

Easter Decor Tray (Sunny Side Up)

I felt very loved and have fun things scheduled all week with friends to prolong the celebration.

I’m tricky like that. :)

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Kenny’s gift this year was a winner.

Easter Tray Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Coupons that were branded with a lovely photo of him and redeemable for all sorts of things like one day of listening to a podcast about feelings, kitchen clean-up with no complaints, one set of blog services, watching one horrible Netflix series that we’ve seen 100 times (I get decision fatigue at night and prefer to watch the same things over and over while I work..ha), one argument concession even if he’s right (he’s never right), one day of excessive compliments, one week of no nicknames (the teasing never ends), and the last coupon said it was good for whatever I want! My mind immediately went to decor.. a new console table for the entry!? A new light fixture for the living room!? But then I started to think BIGGER.

What about 1,000 more of each of these coupons duplicated?

I’m tricky like that.

Weekend Favorites & Sales

Sales and Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{cassidy denim jumpsuit/initial pendant necklace/similar ankle strap sandal}

Happy Saturday! 3 things! 1 – I’ve got a GOOD but quick round-up of some weekend favorites and sales for you. 2 – I’m wearing a jumpsuit in this pic and still trying to decide if it’s the cutest outfit ever or a complete disaster. And 3 – it’s March 11th and I’m 46 years old today. 46! I really don’t know how that’s possible since I was just turning 19 about 20 minutes ago, but I have to say that I’m ok with it. I might not feel ok about it at 50 (let’s re-evaluate then because it feels like 50 might be a hard one!), but 46? All good. Honestly I have loved my 40’s! This past year has been a little harder with Ellie moving out and talking all things college with Addison knowing that she’s next. Some days I let it get to me and just feel sad. I can feel the tide turning and the change coming that is life after all of my kids move out. But I heard the phrase somewhere the other day “the best is yet to come” and I decided that is going to be my new mantra. The best is yet to come. No more looking back and feeling sad that certain times or phases of life are coming to an end. There is SO MUCH to look forward to. What exactly am I looking forward to? I don’t totally know yet. Ha. But the best is yet to come so I’m going to be excited for it.

Also I think I love the jumpsuit. :)

JUMPSUIT OPTIONS:

Sales and Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

Really I’m just so grateful for these 4 loves of my life along with all of my other family, good friends and all of YOU. Feeling very blessed this year and excited to spend the weekend celebrating!

{tondo rectangle serving board/woven serving basket/frida vase/real touch white tulip/small marble bunny/similar wood bunny}

{small sage green vase/small tulips – pack of 20}

Ok.. back to our regularly scheduled program. :) This is a quick round-up because I’ve been working on some fun posts for next week! Really feeling all things SPRING around here! Before my sale/favorites round-up I wanted to share another fun tulip option! The tulips on the left I’ve shared before. They are stunning and so realistic. I’m also in love with the less expensive tulips on the right! They are smaller and the stems are a brighter green. Also so good! They are incredibly soft to touch and easy to bend and manipulate so you can make them look very realistic too. Perfect for this cute sage green vase! I love it so much I bought two! One for my living groom and one for the nightstand in my bedroom. You can’t beat the price on the small tulips either. I have one pack of 20 in this vase for just $20! Score.

They come in other colors too! I’ve shared these before in this collage, but wanted to show a pic of them in person. So good.

I’m so ready to give my bedroom a spring re-fresh! It’s still decked in forest green from the holidays. I’ll definitely be checking out this sale before it ends. This pretty throw is my inspiration piece! Clearly I’m not straying too far from the green family. ;)

1-bunny bowl   2-  flower nesting bowls

CUTEST stuff popping up in Anthro for spring! I’ve had this bunny and these flower bowls in my cart for a week now! I’m actually glad I waited because LTK is doing a sale this weekend. If you want 20% off all of this cute Anthro stuff (and lots of other favorites I’ve mentioned before!) head to over to my LTK shop in the app. To get the 20% off you have to shop on your phone through the LTK app using my code it will give you. 1- moxie rug   2-augustine rug   3- callahan rug

4- bullock rug   5-nash rug   6-ahern rug

Signing off with some fun indoor/outdoor rug options! I need to decorate my front porch but it has been too cold and raining non-stop! As soon as I see the sun again I need to do some serious sweeping and decorating.

It’s supposed to rain tomorrow though so I think I’ll stay warm inside by the fire and eat cake instead.

I was right. The best IS yet to come.

Adding black to your spring decor

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{mother roller wide leg jeans/puff sleeve sweater/similar open toe booties here & here}/woven tray/easter egg options/black hanover pendants}

It’s a new week! Let’s make it a good one and kick things off with a little spring decor. Who’s ready!? I know I am. Easter eggs are out (cute egg options here!) and I am so ready for sunshine and spring! My kitchen looks clean, but don’t be deceived. I took these pics on a cloudy day while my decor closet was half way organized and there were random items up and down my hallways and flooding my entry, office and dining room. My kitchen was the ONLY clean spot in my house. Just wanted to keep it real. Organized closet is hopefully coming soon. :) (On an unrelated side note.. how cute are these jeans!? An early birthday splurge. They are so cute and flattering if you need a new pair!)

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{drifter black wood round board/tondo lazy susan/tondo round serving board/tondo rectangle serving board/similar black board with round handle here & here}

Let’s chat about adding black to your spring decor. I’ve been adding more black into my decor this past year and I have to say that I am LOVING it. Have you ever noticed how black just sort of grounds your space? It makes a statement and adds some depth and drama to any room. It’s so easy to bring a little black into your decorating if you haven’t already and want to start! Accessories are a great way to slowly add black and see how it changes the look and feel of your space. These are 4 black kitchen trays I’m loving that you’ll see popping up in my spring decorating this year. They are perfect for decor and serving food if you are entertaining!

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{drifter black wood round board/tondo lazy susan}

This drifter board is so cool. It has some color variation (a charred look) and isn’t completely flat. You can still set items on it but it has just enough movement to give it texture. It would be great in the kitchen but also on a coffee, entry, or dining table. You can never go wrong with a good lazy susan! I use my marble lazy susan every day so I’m excited to have a black option too!

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{tondo round serving board}

Fun pizza paddle board!

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{tondo rectangle serving board/similar black board with round handle here & here}

The rectangle boards are my favorite. I bought the large board in my hometown at a fun decor store so I linked similar options. I love the size but it always felt a little too big for my kitchen island so I ordered this tondo board that is just a little shorter and wider and it’s perfect!

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

Just the right size to hold a fun little spring arrangement. :)

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

{woven serving basket/frida vase/real touch white tulip/small marble bunny/similar wood bunny}

I moved my tulips over from the dining room table and added this fun serving basket with lemons. LOVE a bowl of lemons this time of year! That pop of yellow just makes everything happy.

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

Also how cute is this little marble bunny!? He would look great on top of a stack of books styled on a shelf too. There are some things in life I just can’t pass up. A spring bowl of lemons and a marble bunny would definitely make that list. :)  (Here are some other fun bunny options I’ve seen popping up in stores!)

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

This is the same arrangement styled on the round drifter board.

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

And here it is on the tondo lazy susan. Just wanted to share a few fun options!

Spring decor (Sunny Side Up)

Add some black to your decor with all the fun spring colors this year!

Or don’t. :) Do whatever you want in your house. That’s the best part about decorating isn’t it!? Life can be heavy but decorating is FUN. Style your house in a way that makes you happy.

But adding some black, a bowl full of lemons and a mini marble bunny can’t hurt.

;)

Weekend Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{faux ficus}

Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying the weekend! It has been a little busy for us with the usual weekend activities plus Kenny had back surgery Thursday and is in recovery mode. It was a minor surgery and he is doing great! But I’ve definitely been a little distracted. The hardest part with my husband when it comes to stuff like this is keeping him from heading to the gym thinking he’s 100% on day two. He does not like to slow down! Lucky for him he has me here to monitor his every move. ;)

I have a fun round-up of favorites today and more fun things coming this week! I started decorating for spring! Have you started yet? Pulling apart my decor closet inspired a little re-fresh and it has been fun organizing my decor items and decorating on the side as I go! I ordered the beautiful tree above to go on my porch – two of them actually! They are stunning and so realistic. I’m excited to put away the winter trees and add some life to my porch. Now we just need the sunshine! It has been so cold lately!

These are fun items I ordered from Amazon in February! I already shared the cute lightweight joggers. The screen cleaner, mascara, hair finishing stick, drawer dividers and museum putty (to hold things like organizers in place) are staples I order and then re-order often. I’m excited to try the boot shapers! I’ll share a pic of how they look/work soon. I’m hoping to go through all of my shoes this week. I need to donate a few pairs and get them straightened. The rain has been endless although I’m not complaining.. we need it! We just also needed another umbrella. :) The hook hangers are going to be just what I need to hold my purse in my car and these pretty branches will be perfect for a small vase. Addison needed a few new hangers and that wraps up our Amazon buys for February! All good things.

I’ve had my eye on these storage bins just waiting for this color to come back in stock.. so cute!

He’s lucky I love him. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Organized Cleaning Closet

*Organized Cleaning Closet – affiliate links used
Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Saturday! Quick post today that will hopefully inspire all of us to organize something this weekend! I actually need some motivation big time since I pulled apart my decor closet a few days ago and literally have random items all over my house. Wish me luck getting that wrapped up this weekend! But let’s not talk about that mess.. let’s chat about another mess that thankfully has been cleaned up and checked off my list! When we built our house I wanted this closet next to our stairs to hold cleaning supplies, but I never really consolidated supplies in this one spot. Over time it just became a catch all for anything I didn’t want to deal with. Spots like that are always fun aren’t they? :)

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

This is the “before” but I had actually already moved a few piles of things out when I remembered to take a quick picture so imagine it even worse! I pulled everything out and then thought about how I could really make this closet work better for me.

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I designed this little closet inside of the closet (ha) to hold cleaning supplies on the top shelf. Brooms, mops etc. were supposed to go below it. The idea was that all cleaning supplies and products would be tucked away from my 3 year old. (Kole was so little when we built our house!) But my idea was a fail because the bottom space was too short for brooms so I ended up hanging them on the wall. This little closet became wasted space with one little shelf at the top and my cleaning supplies ended up spread out all over the house. I knew the best solution would be to add more shelves so I called Chuck (my bff and carpenter). He built this little closet and everything else in my house! I asked him if it would be easy to add a few more shelves and he said not only would it be easy, but he had a few shelves that would fit on hand and happened to be in my area. He swung by after work and 30 minutes later I had new adjustable shelves in my closet. Talk about same day service! Love him. :)

Ready to see the after?

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

GOOD-BYE piles! Hello floor. :)

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I already had this system hanging on my wall next to my central vac and Dyson so I cleaned it up and got rid of items I wasn’t using anymore.

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I kept Addison’s old nightstands in this space because they fit so well and work as a table for storage. This space next to the little closet was originally supposed to be a spot for an extra fridge, but we haven’t needed one! Our fridge is big and I don’t cook enough to need two. ;) I added a basket to hold all of my shopping bags. I keep them and always reuse them for returns or if the kids need to carry large items to school.

Ready to see my little cleaning closet?

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

Ta-da! And NOW I hear the angels. So good right!? Just a few extra shelves gave me all the storage I need to keep everything in one spot!

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

ALL cleaning supplies now have a place to land and I am one happy girl. This closet is finally being used the way it was supposed to!

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

I added one more basket in the top corner because I like to have a spot to set items I need to return. I use the empty space in this closet all the time for work stuff. I set my tripod here when I’m photographing things and packages here before I get to them. I need the empty space for my daily “work mess” so that we have room to live. It’s an interesting set up when your whole house is your office. ;)

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

One more pic with the cleaning closet door closed..

Organized Cleaning Closet (Sunny Side Up)

and open! I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of opening the door to this closet and seeing it so clean. This is a spot I’ve wanted to tackle for a long time! I’m so happy it’s finally done.

Now time for that decor closet. Unfortunately I have WAY more vases than I do cleaning supplies (yikes) so my current project might pull me down and drag me under. Wish me luck!

Is there a spot in your home you’ve been wanting to clean out for a while now? Turn on a good audiobook, podcast or some music and tackle it this weekend! Best feeling! We’ve got this.

:)

Hello hello! It’s raining here again so I’m sharing this outdoor dining tablescape from last summer to add a little sunshine and brighten the day! Sunshine and warm weather and flowers and outdoor dining are coming. :)

{Walli Phone Case – 15% off any phone case with this link and type the code sunny at checkout!}

I’m sharing some recent fashion favorites today! Things I’ve been wearing and loving lately. These Amazon joggers are so good and a great price! Very light weight so perfect for spring/summer. I ordered my regular size and one size down because the reviews said they run big. Honestly both sizes work! The brown are a size small (my regular jogger size) and they work but are a looser fit.

Recent Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

 {cropped crew/everywhere belt bag/lightweight joggers/similar adidas sneakers}

This is the same jogger in black in xs (one size down for me) and they are just a more fitted fit. So order one size down if you want them a little more fitted and your regular size if you want a loose fit. The lulu cropped crews are another favorite that I’ve been living in!  The material is so soft. This outfit has definitely been on repeat.

Recent Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{we the free perfect tee/colette cropped wide leg pants/large belt bag/similar open toe booties/chain bracelet set}

I’ve been branching out of my skinny jeans and trying different pants lately (thanks to a slight push from my teenage daughters). Ha. These wide leg cropped pants are seriously the best fit. So flattering in the back and I love the length for something fun and different. They come in other colors and I want more! I have a feeling I’ll be living in them with sandals when it warms up. They can be dressed up or down and are so cute either way. This is the large belt bag and I love it when I’m carrying my whole wallet and a few other things. I don’t always wear them in the front (a  lot of the time I just sling them around) but I love not carrying around a big bag when I’m just running to the grocery store and to pick up kids.

Recent Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

{conway pullover sweater/pilcro utility pants/similar rag & bone sneaker}

This sweater and these pants! 10 out of 10 for both! I love them together but I’ve worn the sweater with jeans and boots and these green utility pants work with everything. They are such a flattering fit! The sweater fits very oversize so order one size down. This is the xxs and it’s still big! But so cute and comfortable. The pants fit true to size (I’m wearing my regular jean size 26 for reference).

Recent Fashion (Sunny Side Up)

I recently wore this outfit to see the King Tut immersive exhibit. If you are in San Diego (or if it comes to your city) definitely check it out! It was so cool. I helped Kole with a huge end of year project on Egypt last May so I impressed everyone with all sorts of facts about the young Pharaoh’s life. Ha.

This cardigan sweater was a bit of a splurge. I tried it on before I looked at the price tag and that’s always a mistake! Ha. I loved it too much to pass up. I wanted a more fitted look so I bought my regular size (xs) but size up if you want a baggy look. The material is so beautiful in person!

{rib crop turtleneck/vintage wide leg jeans/similar rag & bone sneaker}

It has been COLD around here lately. Probably one of the coldest winters we’ve had (which I know isn’t saying much compared to temps for many of you!) but still.. I’m cold! This crop turtleneck has also been on repeat keeping me warm! These black jeans are the same wide leg fit as the Madewell pants above and are so cute and comfortable. I’m all about comfort most days! Which is why sneakers are on repeat too. :)

I bought these cropped wide-leg faux leather pants for the holidays and wore them to several Christmas parties. They are the same fit as the colette cropped wide leg pants and are just as flattering. I couldn’t love them more! I usually dress them up a little more and have worn them with heels and a dressy top to lots of dinner parties.

I love this puff sleeve sweater too. So cute! Sorry for all the green in this post. Most items come in other colors but you know I can’t help myself. :)

Love the front pocket that snaps .. easy access to your phone! Then a large zipper pocket to hold everything else. Comes in other colors too of course. But the strap on the green is so good right!? Couldn’t resist. :) They would make fun gifts for birthdays, Mother’s Day, graduations, etc. too.

Enjoy your day and I’ll be back with some fun organizing going down around here soon!
