Christmas Kitchen

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Saturday!  Sharing some pics of my Christmas kitchen!  Simple but festive this year. :)

*all sources are at the end of my post – affiliate links used

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

I kept the same round gold tray I used for my Fall kitchen decor on my island.  Really loving pops of gold this holiday season!

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(gold tray/white terra-cotta jar/fir & firewood candle)

So easy to decorate with just berries in a jar, a gold glittery tree and a favorite Christmas candle.

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(white marble & wood round board/marble & wood small board/large rectangle board/wreath/marble & gold tray)

I added garland to the front of my mantel this year instead of just laying it across the top like I usually do.  It was so much easier to attach than I thought it would be!  I just used three command hooks on the two ends and one in the middle.  The middle felt like it needed something so I added a little wreath.  I planned on putting something with a pop of red on the left side of the shelf above my oven range and tried so many different items (more berries, reindeer, etc).  Nothing looked quite right!  So for now it’s just my gold mirror.  I’ll probably find the perfect thing right about when it’s time to take it all down. :)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(navy kitchen rugs/pendant light)

My cozy snowy village window scene that I shared a couple of weeks ago is my favorite part of my Christmas decor this year.  It’s a tricky spot to photograph during the day because so much light pours in this bay window!

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

While it’s beautiful during the day, nothing beats the way it shines at night. :)  These pre-lit birch trees and jeweled snowflakes are on sale right now!  I linked similar light up houses in this post.

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

I added another birch tree on the left and some small trees to the right.  I need to take a new picture of it at night with everything lit.  I’m going to be so sad when it’s time to take this down and might just leave it up through January!

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(antiqued metal tray/faux snow/plaid plates/similar plaid plates)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

I switched out my cutting boards behind my cook top and added this beautiful white marble & wood round board.

(similar glitter cone tree set)

Then I took the large round wooden board I used to have in that spot and put it on my kitchen nook table.  I added some trees and fake snow.. 5 minute decorating!

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(faux fig tree/basket/table/similar chairs/similar skis)

I like to keep this table decor simple because we eat at this table most nights and it’s a pain to always move the centerpiece around!  My plaid red rug made an appearance again this year and just like last year.. it makes me extremely happy. :)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(similar silver pendants)

A few different angles..

(canisters/similar striped bowl/red kitchen-aid/tree board (on sale!)/similar wooden cake stand)

My little butler’s pantry is all sorts of festive too!  I didn’t double the garland here (you can tell it’s thinner than the garland over my cook top and window), but I love the feeling that just two simple stands of greenery added.

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

For a final touch I added the same small wreaths to the backs of my barstools. I just tied some jute string around them.  Such a simple way to add Christmas cheer to your kitchen!   (Christmas pjs and other fashion favorites are linked in this post.)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

That’s it!  My 2020 Christmas kitchen.  We have really been enjoying our festive kitchen decor this year and baking up a storm!  You would all be so proud of me.  My ovens have been used so much the past two month they are probably starting to wonder if a new family moved in.

Nope.  California is just on lockdown again. ;)

Christmas Kitchen (Sunny Side Up)

(Christmas family room tour/sources here)

We have tickets to a light show Saturday night so I’m excited!  I guess you stay in your car and the sound comes through the radio.  I’m so curious to see how it all works! I know I’ll love it regardless because I’m all for activities that involve Christmas lights and staying in Christmas pjs. :)

I hope you have something fun to look forward to this weekend!  Other than the light show I’m going to attempt to finish my on-line Christmas shopping and maybe start wrapping a few things.

Or maybe I’ll just bake instead.

This is the new me!  Still the same old me, but with more time for baking.

My jeans don’t appreciate the new me but that’s ok.

I don’t plan on wearing them anytime soon anyway.

Gift Ideas

Gift Ideas for Teens

*Recent pic with my girls.  Out of focus, strange lighting, chaotic and pretty much what 92% of our pics together look like.  Also now I’m in the mood for bread. :)

Ahhh teens.  Aren’t they fun!?  And exhausting!?  :)  Raising teens is a wild ride and not for the faint of heart!  That’s for sure.  These two definitely keep me on my toes.  While we certainly have our days, I have to say that for the most part I absolutely love this stage with my girls.  It’s like having two best friends living with me and the three of us have our fair share of funny moments, laughs and bonding on the daily.  My girls have been home doing school on-line since the start of the school year and even though it has had its challenges for all of us, I have honestly loved having them home with me more!  I only have a few short years before they are both going to be leaving the nest (tear) and I will always be grateful for this extra time we’ve had together.  Love them both way too much. :)

Today I’m sharing gift ideas for the teens in your life!  My favorite gift guides to put together because this is what I’m shopping for the most.  The gifts I’ve rounded up for teen girls are all items that my girls (and a lot of their friends) want/love!  I had to get some help on my gift selections for teen boys since Kole is only 10 and we aren’t quite there yet. :)  Luckily I have lots of friends raising teen boys and they all agreed on the items I shared below!  I hope these gift guides are helpful!  Teens can be hard to shop for and of course kids this age always love gift cards!  But I want my girls to have fun surprises to open Christmas morning and gift cards just don’t cut it for that.  I’m sure a Starbucks gift card will find its way into each of my girls’ stockings.  Those pink drinks add up quickly don’t they!?  Anyone else feeling my pain on that one? ;)

Gifts For Teen Girls (thesunnysiedeupblog.com)

1 – go girl planner and organizer  – I thought this was a cute planner for teen girls (and adults too!).  It comes with fun stickers and I love how it breaks down goals/habits.  It’s the perfect size for a purse/backpack and has great reviews.  A fun way to kick off what will hopefully be a better year for our teens!

2 – naked eyeshadow palette – LOVE these colors.  My girls are really into skin care and makeup and you can’t go wrong with Urban Decay Eyeshadow palettes.  I also ordered this one for my girls and I know this make up set is a hot item with teen girls this year!

3 – travel jewelry organizer – The perfect way to organize jewelry on the go!

4 – lululemon tamer haeadband – Lulu headbands are always a hit and perfect for dance, running, sports.. any exercise!

5 – cellphone crossbody bag – Remember the cute crossbody bags I shared a few years ago?  (I know many of you bought them for your girls!)  They were just the right size for a cell phone and some cash.  My girls have LOVED them (they use them every day!) but we always wish they were just a little bit bigger!  My girls always want to take random items too like lip gloss, etc.  I found these crossbody bags and couldn’t order them fast enough!  They are a little bit wider and have more pocket space for random items.

6 – mosen blackhead remover vacuum – On Ad’s wishlist this year!

7 – face & eye essential brush set  – You can never go wrong with make-up brushes for teen girls!  This exact set sold out but Nordstrom always has a great selection and this looks like a perfect set for a gift too!

8 – luna mini 2 – A facial cleaning device that teens are obsessed with!  The new Clarisonic. :)

12 – velvet jewelry organizer  – such a cute jewelry organizer and a great price!  Would be cute to give as a gift with some jewelry inside it. :)

13 – little words project – These are cute little bracelets with special words on them.  I especially love these for tween girls!

14 – dead sea mud mask – SO excited to try this!  It has rave reviews and my girls are obsessed with skin masks!

15 – tabletop jewelry stand   – Another cute option for organizing jewelry!  So pretty on a dresser/desk in a teen girl room.

16 – dr. martens platform boot – Docs are also making a huge comeback and it cracks me up!  Did you wear Docs in school?  I lived in them in high school.  They were the coolest!  I know.. I’m totally dating myself. :)  Nordstrom has a fun selection.  The pair I linked are the pair El really wants this year and they are sold out at Nordstrom and backordered until January at Urban!  Clearly a hot item with teens right now.

17 – pompom fleeced socks – A long time favorite for me and my girls!

18 – panacea necklace   /  gorjana ring hoops– Some favorite jewelry.  This necklace is a perfect personalized gift and you can go wrong with a nice pair of hoops.  A staple!

19 – erikson ties  – Our favorite elastics!  SO good and we have THICK hair at our house.  Perfect stocking stuffer for teen girls!

20 – faux fur bean bag  – My kids all got PB teen bean bags a couple of years ago for Christmas and we have used them non stop!  They love them in their rooms but also pull them in to the theatre room/family room for movie nights.  They are also great for when friends come over.

21 – slingback sandal  – These Ugg sandals are another teen favorite.  El got them for Christmas last year and has LIVED in them.  Ellie is a shoe girl (not as into clothes!) and asks for a nice pair for her main gift every single Christmas. :)

22 – charlotte tilbury  – This makeup set is perfect for girls just starting to wear makeup because it explains exactly where to apply each color (eyes, face, cheeks).  Charlotte Tilbury is always a good choice too.

23 – waterfall string lights Lighting for teen bedrooms!  Always a winning gift and I love these waterfall string lights!  Ad has something similar in her bedroom now for Christmas. :)

That made me laugh!  I guess to keep their own food/drinks close by?  Perfect for someone heading to college soon too.  #6 and #13 I’m getting for Kenny too and wouldn’t the indoor table tennis be fun if you have the room for it!?  Lots of easy ways to spoil your teen boys. :)

If you are shopping for teens and have other fun gift ideas share them in the comments below!  Parents of teens need all the help we can get right!?  And if you’re going through a phase with yours right now (like we all do!) just remember – this too shall pass.

Christmas pjs & a favorite tree

Stair Landing Tree (Sunny Side Up)

Happy weekend everyone!  I hope you’re having a nice one so far. :)  I’m coming to you from my stairs today.  I decorated a slim tree in my landing and am a tad bit obsessed with it!

Stair Landing Tree (Sunny Side Up)

It’s so simple!  That’s probably why I love it so much.  Just a fuzzy tree skirt and white ornaments.

Stair Landing Tree (Sunny Side Up)

Little white houses that light up (you have to set the house on top of a tree light!), snowflakes and white ball ornaments.  That’s it!  Took me all of 20 minutes to decorate.  I don’t have exact sources for these items, but I found several similar options if you want to create this look!

Stair Landing Tree (Sunny Side Up)

I kind of like this tree without a top.  Or maybe that’s just what I’m telling myself because I don’t really want to worry about figuring out a top for it.  Either way – this tree is going topless.

So scandalous.

Stair Landing Tree (Sunny Side Up)

View from above!  One question I get asked often is “what would you do differently if you were building again?  Any mistakes you feel like you made?”  Well here’s one.  I wish that our stair plug outlet was in the corner where my tree sits.  Ha.  Probably not the answer you had in mind (and really I  should write a serious post on that at some point if it would help anyone who is building/remodeling!).  But on a small scale, this plug outlet has always driven me crazy.   I could have hidden the tree cord!  What was I thinking!?  Maybe that I didn’t want to see the plug outlet coming up the stairs?  I don’t know.  But I chose the exact spot for every plug outlet in this house.  And in this spot I chose wrong.

I think I’ll live.  But that’s one little thing I would change. ;)

Special Ornament Tree (Sunny Side Up)

In past years I’ve had a small tree in this landing full of my kids’ special ornaments.  You could set a little tree like this on a table too.  So many fun options when you’re decorating mini trees!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{cozy joggers/matching henley top/similar red thermal/kitchen barstools}

Change of topic to Christmas pjs!  We’ve been living in them at my house and are quite pleased about it.  These cozy joggers rank high on my list of favorite Christmas pjs.  I’ve had the set for years and then bought my girls the joggers this year too so we could all match.  They are the coziest!  And have been just as big of a hit with my girls. :)  On sale for such a good price right now!  I often mix and match my pjs so even if you don’t get the top, seriously think about these joggers.  They look cute with so many tops and really are beyond comfy.  (For size reference I’m wearing the small and Ad is wearing the xs.)  Also Christmas kitchen decor details are coming soon but here is where we are at the moment!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{dreamy cotton pj set/slippers}

Another pj set I’m loving this year!  These are the cutest!  They run big.. I’m wearing xxs so definitely go down a size in this set!  They come in a grey and black stripe too if you aren’t into the candy cane look. ;)  J Crew has a lot of cute cozy pjs on sale right now and pjs always make a fun gift!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{pj salvage joyful top/joyful tie waist pjs/scuffette slippers}

Ok.. OBSESSED with this pj set.  Honestly my husband is sick of seeing me in them!  If you are going for pure comfort.. look no further.  I’ve actually mixed two sets here (the striped pants have a top and the top has matching bottoms) but I love these two together!  PJ Salvage always nails it with their pjs (in fit and comfort!) and there are TONS of cute options this year!  A forever safe gift option!   Also can we talk about how I’m honestly just now realizing that all 3 of my favorite Christmas pjs from this year are striped.  Ha!  Only slightly predictable around here.

I linked other cute pjs for women at the bottom of this post!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{every day two-piece pajamas}

Kole’s favorite pjs this year!  I knew he would love them because they are just cozy flannel pants (always a win when it’s cold) with basically a super soft t-shirt and that’s all he wants to wear/sleep in (this kid hates buttons!).  I also love that they are fun for Christmas but still work for the rest of the year.  They come in a cute green plaid too with a grey top!  He posed so cute for me for this pic it kind of made me laugh.  Looks like a little boy who has been in many pics with his mom over the years. ;)  He gets his braces off Monday and I’m kind of bummed!  They have been so cute on him and he has loved switching up the color of the bands every month.  Red right now for Christmas of course. :)

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{oversized sweatshirt/vintage jogger sweatpants/scuffette slippers}

Not necessarily for Christmas but I’ve also been wearing and loving these cute sweats from Target!  They come in other colors/patterns but my favorite is this brown ombre.  Cute for teen girls too.  I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they mysteriously go missing from my closet. ;)

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{curved hem tee/cloth & stone everyday joggers}

Believe it or not I actually do get dressed!  Once in a while anyway. ;)  I’ve had these cloth & stone joggers for months and keep forgetting to share them!  I love the pattern and they are such a great fit.  Really nice material and I like the thick cuff at the bottom.  Higher priced, but definitely worth it!  I’ve worn them with a sweater and sneakers and also with dressier black tops and heels for date night.  CUTE.  On a side note the top I’m wearing is Treasure and Bond (available in other colors).  I really like Treasure and Bond tops and they have a lot of cute options on sale right now!  Kenny’s giving me this green hooded sweatshirt for Christmas.  He doesn’t know it yet, but he is. ;)

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{cozy v-neck hooded sweatshirt/faux leather leggings/adidas swift run sneaker/initial pendant necklace}

I’ve about worn out this hooded sweatshirt I shared a few months back.  So cute and perfect for running around with leggings!  Another Treasure & Bond favorite!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{mock neck waffle top/farrah high waist skinny jeans/similar booties}

Another cute top I’ve been loving!  30% off and seriously such a cute fit!  Plus it comes in green so.. :)   Anthro is having a fun weekend sale and these are other tops on sale I’m looking at..

Daily Deals (Sunny Side Up)

{denver plaid dinnerware collection/cowl neck sweater/modern full length mirror/dyson V8 cordless stick vacuum/le creuset cast iron dutch oven}

If you follow me on IG stories or in the Like To Know it app I’ve been sharing fun daily deals I see when they pop up!  These are a few I found this weekend.  Honestly such a great price on this beautiful modern mirror!  It’s a thinner version of what I have in my hallway.  I love the plaid dinnerware.  I have four of the plates in my glass kitchen cupboards but would love more for entertaining.  Can’t wait until I can have people over again!  The vacuum is also on sale and supposed to be so good.  We have central vac but it’s so much work pulling it out with the huge cord every day.  I’ve been debating getting a Dyson like this one for quick clean ups!

Christmas PJs (Sunny Side Up)

{cowl neck sweater/AG jeans/davis knee high boot/madewell crossbody tote}

The cowl neck sweater is a favorite.  I have it in two colors and love it!   Love the neck, love the sleeves, especially love how warm and soft it is.  It’s on major sale and all sizes are available in black!

Fun deals.  Happy holiday decorating, shopping or vegging!  I’m planning to do a little bit of all three and am excited to enjoy the rest of the weekend with my family.  Chances are if you stop by to say hi we will be in our Christmas pjs.  All month long!

So scandalous.

Christmas Family Room

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

{chunky wool jute rug/rattan-wrapped stool/wooden dough bowl/sectional}

Happy December to you and your family!  December always sneaks up so quickly doesn’t it!?  I remember thinking in March when everything shut down for the first time if we all have to stay home for two weeks why couldn’t it be for two weeks during December when it gets dark early and we are surrounded by cozy Christmas lights!?  I never would have guessed that we would still be in this situation, but my feelings on that haven’t changed.  If I need to spend more time at home, let it be during December!  Bring on the Christmas pjs, twinkle lights, popcorn and Rudolph!  And ALL of the cozy Christmas decor.  Speaking of cozy decor.. it’s time to tour my Christmas family room!  Grab some hot chocolate and come on over.  Aside from my pink Christmas bedroom my entire home is decked in traditional red and green for the holidays and I am one happy girl. :)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Let’s start with the tree!  I have Christmas trees throughout my home, but because this tree is in my family room where we all hang out it’s the tree that we spend time around and enjoy the most!  There are so many fun ways to decorate a Christmas tree (and no right or wrong way to do it!) but I am personally always drawn to trees with just enough ornaments to sparkle, but not so many that you can’t still see the tree/branches.  Which is why I kept our family room tree pretty simple this year. :)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Red and natural wooden beads for the garland, red berries (a staple for me because I love pops of red!), large sparkly balls, these gold mercury glass ornaments, and my favorite.. these radiant glitter gold stars (they are even more beautiful in person!).

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

I added candles to my top shelves (a mix of these and these) and kept the rest of my shelf decor simple with white demijohn vases, my favorite large cutting boards (back in stock!), a few gold items and a couple of my favorite reindeer friends. :)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

I ordered a gold star for the top of this tree two weeks ago and it kept saying online that it was coming.  I just got an email yesterday that it isn’t coming and that it sold out!  What!?  So I still need to get something for the top, but other than that our tree is done and I love it this year!  Last year’s tree was beautiful (really I think ALL Christmas trees are beautiful!) but it just wasn’t me.  I’m so happy to have my red back. :)  It was also fun bringing more gold into this space!  I found some beautiful wrapping paper (here and here) that coordinates for a few special presents too.  And by special presents I mean the only few I’ve had time to buy and wrap. ;)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

{similar faux fur tree skirt/green velvet pillow/gold votive holders/candles}

I didn’t take a close up of my coffee table display, but I kept it simple too.  I’m always tempted to style this rustic coffee table with all sorts of books and vases and fun decor, but we really USE this coffee table!  Every night our family hangs out in this room and our coffee table ends up covered in DVD’s and laptops and mail and Algebra books and toys and snacks and water bottles and Coke Zero cans.. ha.  So I just added a round gold tray in the corner with these simple mercury votive holders  (I ordered these candles to put in them) and some greenery.  (I linked several beautiful round gold trays at the end of this post!)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

I added my faux cedar garland all across my entertainment center and it’s much more secure this year!  Last year I woke up several times in the middle of the night and ran in this room to check on it.  It was hanging on by a thread and I seriously kept dreaming it was crashing down.  That’s what happens when you have garland and Christmas decor in your head all day.  I also added a small wreath in the middle – just tied a piece of garland around it!

Because I’m tricky like that. ;)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Similar decor on this shelf and a lot of it was from Target!  I love this gold bowl and beloved books are always easy decor.  (One of my favorite books, Platters & Boards, makes a great gift!)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

{striped chair/floor lamp/similar throw/similar basket}

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

{gold lanterns/flamless candles/pre-lit hanging branch/candle holders/green pillow – still available in tan}

Moving around the room to the fireplace!  I shared more details and night shots in this post.  Still obsessed with my hanging branch!  Both of the garlands I used sold out, but below are some really good similar faux options if you’re looking.

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

For my console table I added some red faux flowers in a favorite white vase, a few leftover Christmas tree ornaments inside my dough bowl (sprinkled a few stars on the table!) and then candles and this beautiful winter tree wall hanging.  It came in a set of two and I’ll share where the other scroll is hanging soon!  Love them. :)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

I have this gorgeous faux fur pillow in the corner of my couch (same pillows I used in my master bedroom).  They are HUGE and the softest!  And then my long time favorite red Merry lumbar pillow.  I’ve had this pillow over 5 years and it’s still a Christmas favorite!

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Then I used red plaid and green velvet pillows for the rest of the couch and on my fireplace hearth.  And here’s a peek of my Christmas kitchen!  More on that space coming soon. :)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Views from the kitchen.

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Of course the real magic of Christmas decor happens at night.  Nothing like the cozy lights of a Christmas tree.  They just seem to say it’s all going to be ok.

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

My 3 reindeer have been enjoying this space immensely too. ;)  I alway give my kids Christmas pjs around Thanksgiving so they have something fun to wear through December and this year my girls begged me for these cozy onesie reindeer costumes!  Of course I couldn’t leave Kole out so he got one too.  They are for adults but run on the small size.  (For size reference El is wearing a medium (she’s usually a woman’s small) and Ad and Kole are both in a small.)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

{reindeer costume pjs/my snowflake sweatshirt/tie waist pj pants/scuffette slippers}

They really are so soft and comfy and my girls have been living in them!  One advantage to at home school.. the reindeer pjs never have to come off. ;)  I love that even though my kids are getting older this time of year is still so magic and special to them.  They get so excited for all of our family traditions and LOVE all things Christmas.  The four of us have been having so much fun decorating and watching Christmas movies and playing/singing Christmas songs and planning gifts for friends.  Kenny keeps shaking his head telling them that they are all too much like their mom.

I keep reminding him that’s not such a bad thing. ;)

Christmas Family Room (Sunny Side Up)

That’s a wrap on my 2020 Christmas family room tour!  I so hope you enjoyed it. :)  I’ll share a tour in IG stories soon too if you hang with me there.  Enjoy your day and happy holiday decorating!

Gift Guides (Sunny Side Up)

It’s time!  Bring on the popcorn and Christmas movies!

Gift Guides (Sunny Side Up)

Christmas movies are on repeat at our house and they are cheering us up immensely.  Rudolph is just a welcome sight every year isn’t he!?  The best.  I recently picked up this cute red hot air popcorn maker from Walmart and we have been having so much fun with it!  I’ve always been a popcorn lover at heart and there’s something magical about using a popcorn maker to pop your own.  Makes it feel extra special. :)  This popcorn maker is small but packs a big punch and is so easy to use!  (I got the cute bowls at Walmart last time I was there too but can’t find them on-line!  Shared a few similar options below.)  We’ve  been debating buying a larger popcorn maker for our theatre room and are looking at a couple of these options.  It would be so much fun when we can start having parties in this room again!  *Hint hint Santa.. :)

Christmas Mantel & Weekend Sales

Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!  I hope it has been a good one so far!  We usually travel to Utah to be with extended family over Thanksgiving weekend but stayed home this year.  My whole family made the decision a few days before – we just didn’t want to risk getting our parents sick.  We were all so sad and depressed about not being together!  The kids had really been looking forward to the trip and seeing cousins and were pretty bummed too.  Then to top off my sadness I was terrified about the thought of cooking Thanksgiving dinner!  My cute husband saw the look of horror on my face and immediately said “don’t worry.. you won’t have to touch the turkey!”  He knows how I feel about raw meat.. ha.  He saved me!  Kenny cooked an amazing turkey and the girls and I did all of the side dishes (on the phone with my mom all morning!) and we pulled it off.  We were all so proud. :)  We also decided the day before to quit moping around and to think of everything we have to be grateful for and to make the best of being home.  Again. ;)  After cooking and dinner Thursday we went on a bike ride and then watched a Christmas movie together and it ended up being a really fun day.  This year has been difficult in so many ways for all of us.  I’m incredibly grateful for this holiday weekend!  A perfect reminder for us to focus on the good and remember all we have to be grateful for – despite such a crazy year!

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

I’m sharing my Christmas fireplace mantel in our family room today!  I had so much fun with it this year!  I combined two garlands (my favorite faux cedar garland and this eucalyptus garland I used in the Fall) and I love the look of them together!  My faux cedar garland sold out so I’ve linked some similar beautiful garland options below.  (This garland looks very similar and is on sale!  So is my eucalyptus garland.. yea!)

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

I decided to make it asymmetrical and swoop the garland all over to the right side.  Kind of fun to mix it up and do something different!  I twisted the two garlands together before I attached them and then used these command hooks and these twist ties to hold everything in place.  I hung the bells from one of the command hooks on the far right and added my favorite marble and gold stocking holders and stockings to the left.

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

To fill in the blank space above my mantel I hung this pre-lit faux pine branch and it is absolutely STUNNING!  It’s hard to tell because this fireplace is massive, but the branch is huge and it looks so incredibly real!  It would also look beautiful above a console table.  Perfect to fill in any big, blank wall space and it’s on sale this weekend!  (I just used a white command hook to hold it also.)   I kept my gold lanterns up and added these flickering flameless candles.  I have wanted these candles for years and finally splurged on them.  Definitely worth the price!  I have them set on a timer and they are so beautiful when they turn on every evening!

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

{flannel joggers/slippers}

We spend so much time in this room and have loved having this cozy spot to sit by the fire.  We haven’t changed out of our pjs much this weekend which has been especially nice since I don’t think my jeans would fit after all I’ve had to eat!  I have some fun Christmas pjs to share later, but a lot of them are on sale this weekend and going fast so I’ll link a few of my favorites below!

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

The best part of this fireplace is at night when the timer turns everything on – so cozy!  The candles on the right are real and I’m afraid to light them!  Knowing me I would burn the house down with them which is why I’m a huge fan of faux candles. ;)  I might add a string of lights to the garland.. still playing around and tweaking all of my decor.  I pretty much keep adding to it right up until Christmas Eve when it’s time to wrap presents.  Ha.  Christmas decorating is just too much fun!

Christmas Fireplace (Sunny Side Up)

I’m grateful for many things this year and one thing at the top of my list is all of you.  I got emotional a few days ago thinking about you all!  And just how grateful I am for this community.  Every time I get a kind comment or an e-mail letting me know about something random (like someone using my picture without giving credit or links not working in a blog post) I feel so incredibly grateful.  You all look out for me and are so supportive and kind.  You have no idea how much you cheer me up every day and how much your support means to me.  It’s the reason I’ve been blogging for so long.  I just love connecting with all of you!  My Sunny Side Up family. :)   So thank you!  Thank you again and again.  So very grateful for you all.  XO

Post sources and some fun weekend sales are below!  Nothing beats shopping holiday sales from the computer in pjs with a Hallmark Christmas movie on.  Whose with me!?

See.. I knew you were all my people. ;)

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{Madewell Puff Sleeve Minidress/Over the Knee Boots/Green Faux Accent Pillow – mantel details coming soon!}

How is your holiday shopping coming along!?  To be honest I’m a little behind and need to do some serious catching up with all of the sales going on this weekend!  Decorating has occupied all of my free time (and then some!) but I’m finally wrapping things up in my home and am ready to share it all with you and focus on gift giving for this year.  I’m so excited to be partnering with Nordstrom for this post to share some recent fashion favorites and holiday gift ideas!  It’s no secret that I love organization and one of my favorite things about shopping on-line at Nordstrom during the holidays is how they organize their gift guides.  You can hop on their website and easily find gifts for anyone on your list!  Some of my go-to categories I always head to are: GIFTS FOR HER,  GIFTS FOR HIMGIFTS FOR KIDSHOME GIFTSTECHIE GIFTS.  I also love how they break gifts down in price range.  I do a lot of my holiday shopping at Nordstrom every year and have rounded up so many fun ideas for gifts under $25, gifts under $50 and gifts under $100.  Most of these items are things that I already have and love, things I’ve given as gifts, or things I’m ordering this year for Christmas.  All tried and true favorites!  I hope these ideas are helpful while you are searching for that perfect gift for someone on your list!

Now for a few fun things I’ve been wearing and loving lately!

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

This is a closer look at the Madewell wrap dress I was wearing in that first picture.  Isn’t it so fun for the holidays!?  Dressy in a simple and casual way – my favorite. :)  If I’m wearing a dress or skirt in the winter I’m all about over the knee boots!  I love the look of them and then I don’t have to worry about wearing tanner or scaring people with my pale skin. ;)

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

Another favorite Madewell dress!  Did you all know I’m a fan of Madewell?  Because I am. :)  This black textured knit dress is adorable!  So comfortable and I love the neck and sleeves.  I like wearing it with this pull back leather belt but you could wear it w/o a belt too.

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{Tie Sleeve Cotton Blend Sweater/Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans/similar Booties}

This cute tie sleeve sweater is so fun for the holidays!  If you’re looking for a beautiful holiday sweater head HERE!  I LOVE Cece tops/sweaters and they have so many fun options!  Here are a few of my favorites… showing them all in green (my personal favorite!) but they also come in red and other colors too. :)

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

And last but certainly not least my Happy Glamper Pullover.  I’ve been a huge fan of glamping my whole life so had to snag this.  I love that I can wear it as pjs with joggers or sweats but it’s also cute with jeans.  It’s PJ Salvage so incredibly soft.  I bought it last month and honestly wore it 3 days in a row!  Glamping at its finest. ;)

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss/Ultimate Flip & Ultimate Spoonula/Madewell masks/Plaid Popcorn Bowl/

similar Phone Wipes/Tree Board & Cheese Knife/Pompom Throw/Savor}

These are a few gifts I ordered that were just delivered!  Isn’t this plaid popcorn bowl cute!?  Fun to give with some gourmet popcorn for a gift.  My girls are going to love the lipgloss and I think that pretty pompom throw (25% off by the way!) is going to have to stay at my house.  You know.. so I can test it and make sure it will make a good gift before I order more. ;)

Another fun category I love to hunt for gifts in is ACTIVEWEAR.  As soon as the holidays are over everyone is feeling ready to ditch the endless eating and to get back in shape!  Activewear gifts are helpful motivation.  These are a few fun activewear gift ideas..

Holiday Gift Ideas (Sunny Side Up)

{Ugg Scuffette Slipper/Ugg Fluffette Slipper/Faux Fur Slipper}

Of course we aren’t at the end of the year just yet.  Still plenty of time for endless eating and I’m not complaining about it!  Which is why I’m also hunting for gifts in the COZY category.  :)  Above are my favorite slippers from Nordstrom.  I just rotate these three pairs every day!  All so soft!  And with Thanksgiving just a day away it’s time to pull out the joggers and all things comfy and stretchy.  Here are a few cozy gift items that will also help us all feel better about ourselves through the end of the year until it’s time to wear spandex again. ;)

I hope this round up of fun gifts gave you a few ideas!  Stay healthy and safe, enjoy some holiday shopping and I’ll be back soon with LOTS of Christmas decor. :)

Pink Christmas Bedroom

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

So excited to share my pink Christmas bedroom with you all today!  The rest of my home is decked in traditional red and green, but I love mixing it up with pink in my bedroom.  I can’t recommend adding a little Christmas decor to your master bedroom enough. Even if it’s just a small string of lights on a wall or dresser!  Holiday lights are so warm and inviting.  They just seem to say “come in and get cozy and rest.. you deserve it.” :)  This space is on the feminine side but Kenny doesn’t mind at all.  It has become a retreat for the girls in our house!  You can often find us piled on the bed watching a Hallmark movie or Gilmore Girls (for the 4th time) next to the cozy lights of the Christmas tree.  Mission accomplished. :)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I could not love this snowy flocked pine tree more!  The branches are so unique and it instantly made my room feel like a winter wonderland.  Forget the warm weather and pink flaming floating in the pool outside of this window.  When we are in this room we are escaping from the frozen tundra!

Make believe has always been one of my greatest strengths. ;)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I kept my decor simple on this tree because it shines so much on it’s own!  Just some glossy pink balls, silver ornaments (similar here & here)..

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

and my beloved Fa-la-la garlands.   (They sold out again but this Merry Christmas garland is similar!)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I didn’t put a top on it because the top of the tree is beautiful on its own!  Honestly this is a tree that doesn’t even need decorations to shine.

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I made a few simple changes to the rest of my bedroom.  First I swapped out my lamps for these white wash lamps I used to have in my entry.  I ordered these pink velvet pillow shams for a steal (they come in so many colors and are so soft!) and then I added this adorable velvet sherpa tree pillow to finish off the bed.  Cream, white, silver and pink for the win in this space!

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I also switched out the painting I usually have above my bed for this beautiful Christmas Lane painting.  Love it so much and it will work through February!

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{similar tassel throw here & here}

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I added a simple silver tray with some ornaments and a reindeer to my bench.  (Bench was custom made.)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Then I tossed a cozy cream throw (similar throw on sale!) and these faux-fur pink pillows on my white chairs.

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{Pagoda Mirror}

Simple bottle brush trees on my nightstand.  (So funny.. I found these trees at Ace Hardware of all places!  Ran in to get more command hooks and there they were calling my name.) ;)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{similar ladder here & here/similar stockings/Celine throw}

I also added two stockings and some fun garland to my ladder. :)  My Celine throw is back in stock!  I love this throw so much I have 2 of them because I love having one in both my bedroom and living room.  The cute pom garlands were from the craft store and I just looped them over the top and bottom leg of the ladder.  Easy decorating!

This is a happy corner. :)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Let’s Stay Home.  Ok.  We haven’t really had much of a choice lately now have we? ;)  This corner instantly felt cozy after I added these gorgeous Cable Knit pillows!  What you can’t tell in these pics is how HUGE they are!  Seriously the largest pillows I own and they are absolutely gorgeous in person!  I have one in my family room this year too.  So soft and cozy!  I love that they work with Christmas decor but can also be used from Fall through Winter.

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I cozied up my mantel with favorite blankets in baskets and some garland to match my tree.

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I found the garland here and it lights up so beautifully!  I went on a massive on-line hunt and was pretty thrilled about finding something that looks exactly like my tree branches.  It even has the matching pine cones!

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Barefoot Dreams blankets are back in stock and would make perfect gifts!  I keep mine in my bedroom because I’m not so good about sharing it. ;)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

{slippers I’ve been living in!/cable knit throw pillow}

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Months ago I moved my mirrored console table from my entry to my bedroom.  It works so well in this space so I don’t plan on moving it again!  (It’s back in stock and on sale for under $500!)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I keep my pink ginger jars in my bedroom on this table and added a tree and a few more ornaments.  Favorite pics of my kids are on my linen pinboard. :)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

That wraps up my pink Christmas bedroom tour!  I so hope you liked it. :)

Bedroom Christmas Decor (Sunny Side Up)

I have so much Christmas decor coming your way so stay tuned!

And enjoy your weekend!  I’m thinking an extra hike or bike ride might be in order around here to prepare for Thanksgiving.

Definitely pulling out the stretchy pants. :)

Thanksgiving Dinner Essentials

*This post is sponsored by Walmart and affiliate links are used.  All opinions and product selections are my own!

Thanksgiving Prep (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Saturday everyone!  Do you like the garland I attached over my butler’s pantry shelf this year!?  I hope so because it’s all over my house. :)  Making things SO cozy!  I’m still styling this shelf and finishing up my decorating this weekend, but I set a few of my go-to’s for holiday baking on the counter to share with you today.  With Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought it was a fun time to chat about a few favorites from Walmart that I use in my kitchen often!  Walmart has been getting in so many fun things for the holidays!

I always get excited when it’s time to pull out my red KitchenAid mixer!  A sure sign that the holidays are finally here. :)  I picked up this KitchenAid hand mixer last year too (comes in lots of colors) and what a game changer!  It’s SO much better than the other brands I had been using before.  I also love this set of 3 plastic cutting boards.  We have a pull out wooden cutting board built into our island that we love (you can see it in this post on my organized kitchen), but I tend to reach for these simple plastic cutting boards for the easy, every day stuff like dicing up an apple for Kole. :)  They are just so easy to use and quickly rinse clean!  This is also a great set of colanders if you need one!

What’s Thanksgiving and holiday baking without good mixing bowls!?  These KitchenAid mixing bowls are my absolute favorites!  They have a nice rubber grip on the bottom, are dishwasher safe and I love the pour spout!  I have a set of 3 in a blue/grey color that I use every day and then a set of red I always pull out to use in Nov/Dec.  Right now Walmart has my favorite mixing bowls in red, white and grey that come in a set bundle with the cutest little bowls and lids for leftovers!  I picked up a few of them for gifts.  Everyone can use good mixing bowls.. especially this time of year!

I included a few other Thanksgiving dinner essentials below!  My mom does most of the cooking for Thanksgiving every year.  My job is usually to entertain the kids, decorate and set the table, and then organize the fridge with all of the leftovers after.  No complaints here!  I quite prefer it that way. ;)  But if I WAS cooking.. below are a few personal favorites.

Thanksgiving Dinner Essentials (thesunnysideupblog.com)

parawood cooking tool set / 4- cup gravy fat separator / 7 piece mix and prep set bundle

double spoon restkitchenaid power hand mixer  / 2 piece colander set

 kitchenaid mixer / plastic cutting boardsbaster, syringe and thermometer

 3-tier oven rack / plastic food storage containers / 22 quart roaster oven

 lifter setstainless steel baster

And since I do handle the tablescape I also pulled together some cute items for an easy but stylish Thanksgiving table.  This 20-piece flatware set looks beautiful for such a good price!  And how cute is the pattern on this white modern farmhouse dinnerware set!?  LOVE it.

4pcs artificial eucalyptus bouquet / pumpkin napkin rings / bamboo large salad bowl

plaid geometric placematsthankful serving platter

gold 20-piece flatware / 16- piece dinnerware set / taper candles

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend!  I’ll be over here trying to figure out how to squeeze 4 months of holiday content into a month and a half.

Honestly wishing I never needed to sleep right about now!  So much garland.. so little time..

;)

Cozy Kitchen Window

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

Bringing you my cozy kitchen window!  Because it’s a Wednesday and we need the mid week pick me up.  I guess I shouldn’t speak for all of us.. I need the mid week pick me up. :)  So step into my snowy Christmas village and relax!  It’s straight out of a Hallmark movie and I’m not one bit mad about it.

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

Honestly this little Christmas scene in my kitchen window has cheered me up immensely this week and it was so easy to put together!  I placed 3 command hooks on my window molding (one in each corner where the cabinet starts and one in the middle behind my pendant) and then I just hung my all time favorite faux garland!  I used two 6 foot strands on each side for a thicker look (so there are 4 strands total).  It looks just like fresh real garland without the mess!

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

I hung 5 of my beautiful jeweled snowflake ornaments from the tiny nails I have on the backside of my molding and then I added my beloved birch trees and some cozy light up houses.  (These exact houses sold out but I linked lots of fun options below!)  Last I sprinkled faux snow – the closest thing to snow we’ll get this holiday season.  Magic!

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

I’ll share pics of my snowy window scene during the day soon (didn’t have time to photograph it today!) but I did get a quick picture of the display below my cabinet.  I wanted to extend the snowy forest/village look so I added one more little birch tree and a few other bottle brush trees and more faux snow on my antiqued metal tray.

Favorite Holiday Trays (Sunny Side Up)

This is the same tray I used to display candles and pumpkins on my table in October and it has honestly been one of my favorite purchases this year.  It’s so long and beautiful and the styling options are endless!   (I have the large size.)

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

I’ve been burning my favorite Christmas candle this week and it just makes 2020 blur and suddenly all is right in the world!  It’s “fir and firewood” and smells just like an evergreen forest.  At Christmas.  In a Hallmark movie.  Catch the theme I’m going for this year? ;)  It’s to die for and soon my friends will be enjoying it too because I always buy extra for gifts!  I snapped a pic next to the faux snow I used in my kitchen because I’ve tried lots and it’s my favorite!

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

{Balsam Green Pine Tree/Dining Room Sources}

In other home news the Christmas decorating is coming along!  Some rooms are finished and just need to be photographed.  Some rooms are 70% done and need to be pulled together with this and that.  And then there are rooms like my formal dining room that are seasonally challenged. *Notice the mix of pumpkins and a tree.  But I wanted to share this real time pic with you because this tree is the other flocked tree I bought this year and I absolutely love it!  I haven’t even touched it yet other than initial set up so the branches still need to be fixed and fluffed, but I LOVE the look of it!  (This pic doesn’t do it justice!)  It’s so beautiful at night (the white lights are large and covered in flocking and so pretty).  I know it’s behind my table, but I just thought it would be fun to mix it up this year and put a tree in front of our dining room window.  We won’t be hosting large parties this year like we usually do (for obvious reasons!) so I moved my dining room bench and set up my tree there instead!  It looks so pretty from the outside!

Christmas Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

{Flocked Long Needle Green Pine Tree}

This is the other new tree I bought (so you can compare the two different looks).  It’s decorated and I’ll be sharing it soon!  I was worried buying two new trees online this year without seeing them first but I love them.  Really great quality and exactly what I was looking for.  I would absolutely recommend either tree if you are looking for a new faux flocked tree this year!  Really happy with them both. :)

RP Holiday Favorites (Sunny Side Up)

 cable turtleneck sweater / ombre glass ornaments / glass ball ornaments / mercury glass star topper

wool wrap coat /pom ankle socks / lace ruffle sheath dress / kids laced dress / cable knit tree skirt

 greenery wreath / faux fur accent pillow /faux fur throw / lounge hoodie /  faux fur pompom throw

Last but not least here are a few RP favorites that were released today!  I honestly wanted to order every single thing in this collage!  Except the red dress because I don’t look good in red.  But it’s gorgeous for someone who does!  That green sweater on the other hand has my name all over it. ;)   I also ordered the wool wrap coat (I’ll let you know if I love it!) and several of the home decor items and will share how I’m using them soon.  I just can’t resist cute Christmas decor!  Or green sweaters.

I can think of worse things.

Cozy Kitchen Window (Sunny Side Up)

Happy Wednesday everyone!  From my Hallmark movie scene to yours.

Holiday Gift Guide for Teachers

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good weekend!  We finally got some rain and it felt amazing. I honestly can’t even remember the last time it rained in our area. Too long ago!  The rain and cold weather definitely made things feel holiday cozy and it was so fun to light a candle (this is my current favorite!) and work on my Christmas decorating!  I’ll have lots to share soon but for now I’m kicking off my annual holiday gift guides with some fun ideas for teachers!  After the year we’ve all had it just seems like a good place to start.  I am so incredibly grateful for my kids’ teachers this year and for all they have done to keep things rolling with such crazy circumstances!  As a former teacher I know how much work goes into everything they do and adding the extra learning curve of all things on-line.. I can’t imagine!  So here are some fun ideas to help celebrate all of the amazing teachers out there.  If you are one of them THANK YOU!!!  Sending a huge HUG your way!

Holiday Gift Guide for Teachers (Sunny Side Up)

1Rifle paper journal / Teacher notepadMinted personal notepad – A teacher can always use a good notepad (probably why I’ve always been obsessed with them!) and these are three cute options!  Add some pretty pens and attach a fun gift card if you want to spend a little more!

2 –  Laminator – This is a great gift for Elementary school teachers.  Even if they have access to a laminator at their school it’s nice to have your own for smaller jobs at home.  Especially this year with a lot of teachers working from home!

3 Teacher Survival Kit / Amazon Gift Card  – This is a cute little zipper pouch that you could fill with all sorts of fun things including a gift card!  After the year we’ve had I’m sure you could get pretty creative with “survival items”.. masks, hand sanitizer/lotion, bubble bath and LOTS of Tylenol are coming to mind.. ;)

4Cozy Pom Pom Sherpa Throw – I LOVE giving throws for gifts!  Who doesn’t love a cozy throw!?  These pom pom throws are festive and fun for the holidays and also perfect to curl up with on the couch.

5 Fleece Lined Socks – Fleece socks are another great gift idea for cozy days at home this winter!  TONS of the coziest socks HERE!

6 – Hydrating Lotion – I’ve heard amazing things about this lotion!  I’m excited to try it and pick up a few for gifts this year!

7Best Teacher Ever Journal – When I taught school nothing meant as much to me as a handwritten note from a parent or child.  I saved them all!  This journal is a fun way for your child to share a few words of appreciation with a little prompting and help. :)

8 – Peppermint Bark – I share this as a gift idea every year because it is DELICIOUS!  I always give a few as gifts and buy a few for our family.  My kids get so excited when I bring it home!  This has especially saved me with male teachers because they are harder for me to shop for.  Peppermint Bark is always hit. :)

9 – White Chocolate cocoaMilk Chocolate cocoa – Another easy gift idea that everyone loves!  Hot chocolate!  WS always has lots of fun options for hot chocoate too!  (And great gift sets if you want to spend a little more!)

10 – Holiday Mugs – If you’re going the hot chocolate route how fun to give some with cute holiday mugs!  The mugs I put in my collage already sold out, but PB has SO many cute options this year!

11 – Williams Sonoma holiday towels / Om for the holidays cookie set – I’ve given these two items together for gifts the past two years and will probably do the same for a few new friends again!  WS holiday towels are my favorite and the OM for the holidays spatula feels especially appropriate this year!  (Breathe deep everyone.) ;)

12 – Candy Cane candle – A beautiful candle to bring some holiday to a teacher’s home!

13 – Best Teacher Ever Tumbler – Such a cute tumbler for teachers on the go!  Would be fun to pair with a Starbucks gift card.

I hope that gave you a few fun ideas for the teachers in your life!  If you want an easy way to keep track of who you’re buying for and what gifts you’re giving this year give my free holiday planner a try!  It’s always a huge help to me this time of year. :)

If you’ve been with me for a while on this blog you know a few things about me.  You most likely know how much I love Christmas decor, how much I despise cooking, that popcorn is a favorite snack, that I’m a night owl,  that I can’t live without cherry ice chapstick, and that angels sing to me every time I greet an organized drawer.  Or cupboard.  Or closet.  (They really do.)  You most likely also know about my obsession with all things Vuori.  When I got the e-mail that Vuori wanted to partner with me on a post I was so excited I jumped up from my computer and ran to Kenny’s office to share the good news.  He stood up to congratulate me (because he knows how much I love their clothes!) and then we looked at each other and laughed.  We were both wearing head to toe Vuori!  “I think they found the right person for the job.”  He said.

I had to agree. ;)

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this brand of performance apparel!  Their tanks and leggings and joggers are my absolute favorites to wear when I exercise because they are so comfortable and flattering.  I’m wearing their daily joggers in these pics and am obsessed!  They are a true legging/jogger combo.

The fabric, quality and fit are seriously next level.  Usually if I exercise in the morning I’m anxious to change out of my restrictive exercise clothes and into something more comfortable to work in all day.  I have worked from home for over 10 years now and as you all know I spend most of  my time on my computer or doing projects around my house.  Comfort has always been a priority!

When I’m in my Vuori clothes I always end up just keeping them on all day.  I never get that itch to change into something more comfortable.  Plus their clothes are just cute to wear for every day running around.  Go ahead and ask Kole what clothes his mom lives in half of the time.

Actually.. my 10 year old son may not be paying attention to such things.  But if he was he’d say Vuori. ;)  Go ahead and ask my girls instead.  They’ll give you the right answer!  Ellie especially since she is always sneaking into my closet to borrow my Vuori tanks!

Lux Performance Tank / Performance Jogger

I first fell in love with Vuori a couple of years ago when I ordered a pair of their performance joggers to try on a whim.

Performance Joggers

You could say I quickly became a fan!  Ha.  I know you’ve all seen me wearing these in different fashion posts before because they are hands down my FAVORITE joggers.  Which is why I own them in almost every color available (Kenny I’m going to need that maroon pair for Christmas!).  You all know that joggers are my thing!  I love wearing them and own a lot of different brands and styles.  Vuori takes the cake!

I recently added this pretty “cloud heather” blue color to my collection and love them with white!

Halo Essential Hoodie / Performance Jogger

Of course who can resist buying a pair in black camo!?  Certainly not me. :)  I also love these halo essential hoodies!  So comfortable and perfect to slip on over my tank after I exercise on cold days.  This is a lot of camo going on for some (never enough for me!) but I also wear this hoodie with black leggings or jeans and the camo joggers with a solid black sweatshirt.  So many options with these cute staples!  (*These performance joggers were just re-stocked and always sell out quickly so if you’ve been wanting to try a pair (or to give them as a gift) grab them before they are gone again!  Check the reviews if you don’t trust me yet. ;)  I’m clearly not the only fan of these joggers!)

I shared this outdoor trainer shell a couple of weeks ago.  Another Vuori staple!

Daily LeggingsLux Performance Tank

There are so many different fun styles of Vuori leggings!  Every type I’ve tried I love.  I usually wear these daily leggings or the daily joggers when I exercise.  I just noticed that they added a new color.. green camo!  (Kenny.. paying attention?)  ;)

So many things have been hard about this year, but one thing I’ve been truly grateful for is having more time for exercise.  It honestly makes such a difference in my mood each day and has been my favorite way to deal with any stress or sadness I feel coming on.  Just spending a little time each day outside in the fresh air instantly changes my mood and makes me happy.

Some mornings I meet a close friend at a local park to run these stairs.  We work up a good sweat going up and down the stairs and then walk a few loops around the park and catch up.

Then every evening Kenny and I go on a hike on the trails behind our home.  This pic was taken on a hike in Park City.  (Wearing my lux performance tank!  I have these in several colors and love them.)  The past few nights Kenny and I have gone on our hike it has been so dark because of the time change!  We took head lamps tonight!  Ha.  I think we are going to need to figure out a way to sneak out earlier in the evening or start going in the morning.  But mornings are rough for this night owl so I’m not really sure how that will work out.

*It won’t work out.  Headlamps it is!

We’ve also started biking a lot together this year and love it!  Kenny and Kole started biking together every day when things first shut down in March.

Outdoor Trainer Shell / Daily Jogger

By May Addison and I had rounded up some bikes and joined the party.  We have loved tagging along with the boys!

We have also loved flying right passed them. ;)

I was cracking up at these pics!  Some funny outtakes that show us doing the exact same thing (not intentional!).

Laugh at something funny that was said.

Come in for a hug.  (Not pictured: putting on our helmets and taking off.)

Love my mini me!  And my other mini me not photographed.  And my son.  Who looks more like his dad but is pretty much my ultimate sidekick.  And Vuori.

Definitely a fan of Vuori!

And exercise.

And Christmas decor.

And popcorn.

And cherry ice chapstick.

And organized drawers.  And cupboards.  And closets.

;)
