1 – TWEEN/TEEN GIFT IDEAS

Happy Saturday! How are we doing? December is in full swing and I hope you’re enjoying it even though it’s always such a busy time of year! This week got away from me and I’m definitely feeling a little overwhelmed. I’m going to use today to catch up on house work and random to-do’s so that I can go into next week feeling a little more on top of things. Fingers crossed right? If nothing else I’m at least going to catch up on our laundry!

I’m excited to share some really fun gift ideas with you today! I went to a friend’s Favorite Things party this week and the gifts were so good! More on that at the end of this post. :) First I’m sharing another fun gift basket for a teen! I took this cute bin and used my hot glue gun to glue a red bow on it. The bow is actually a hair clip! I used such a tiny amount of glue on the clip in the back that it will be easy to pull off and use the bow. A cute and easy way to make a bin look a little more festive for gifting!

Teen Gift Ideas

I decided to go with a red theme for this gift basket. Target has the cutest pillows out right now for kids/tweens/teens! Food pillows like a taco, avocado, hot dog and donut (my favorites are all linked here!). I fell hard for the lip pillow and matching notebook and candle so I started with those and then found other red items that I know girls would love. (The cute slipper socks also come in a green and I couldn’t resist picking me up a pair too! They are the coziest.)

I put everything in this cute coiled rope basket and love how it turned out! Isn’t the bow cute!? I love giving gifts in bins and baskets that can be used for organizing. Double the gift! You could use this cute bin and bow to hold all sorts of fun Christmas gifts. A wrapping idea for you that isn’t wrapping. I’m clearly a fan. Ha.

Speaking of teens.. I had some fun Christmas decor ideas for Addison’s bedroom this year but ran out of time! I’m saving them for next year and ended up decorating her room pretty similar to how I decorated it last year. She loved it so much! I didn’t take new pictures because it’s so similar but I went through my blog post from last year for this space and updated all of the links so you can check out this post if you want to know where things are from. She loves traditional red for Christmas!

Clip On Candles

Remember these fun clip on candles I bought last year? I was so excited to use them again and put them on our living room tree too. (Still need to share that! Next week!)

My kids love them in their bedrooms because they have a remote and you can set them to change colors. They turn red, green, purple, blue..so much fun. I always keep my candles on the warm white setting for my main trees but my kids love the colors. :)

Teen Christmas Bedroom Sources

Target brought back this cute village stocking holder from last year. It lights up so cute! Ellie just wanted a tree in her bedroom (she doesn’t like any extra clutter!) so I kept her room really simple. My girls are so different and I love that about them. They both take after me in different ways. Ellie’s room will stay nice and tidy while Ad is a mess (ha) but Addison wants ALL the decor and loves to do the same activities I do. I’m so excited to get them both back home again! :)

5 – FAVORITE THINGS PARTY

Kenny snapped this pic last night on my way to a friend’s Favorite Things party. I bought this dress for the Reward Style Conference in September and I have loved it so much! I wear it every chance I get because aside from my stripe obsession, it’s so comfortable and a perfect combo of dressy and casual. I recently bought this beaded pearl bow purse and couldn’t love it more! I wore some pearl bow earrings and the purse was a perfect accessory.

Clean Skin Towels / Wash and Prep Headband / Unbrush Detangler / Unbrush Detangling Set

This is what I took for my favorite thing this year! The skin towels (that I’ve shared so many times!) were my favorite discovery this year. The unbrush is a great detangler I’ve been using (I bought my girls one for Christmas!) and the wash and prep headband I took to go with the skin towels. :)

Beaded Pearl Bow Purse

But guess what gift so many people wanted? My purse! Ha ha.. I wished I would have taken 3 of them for my favorite thing! Everyone kept saying how cute it was and asking if I attached the bow myself (nope!) and where did I get it and was it expensive (nope!). When I told them all the price several of my friends got on their phones and ordered one immediately. Some friends ordered one for them and more for daughters. It was a hit! It’s see through (there isn’t a liner) and it’s actually a little heavy! The handle under the bow is larger pearls and so cute. It’s not huge but fit my make-up pouch and keys and phone. Not really an every day purse but a perfect date/party night purse!

Happy Cyber Monday! Ok.. I did a little on-line shopping and A LOT of on-line scouring and I’ve rounded up so many fun things on sale if you are looking for holiday gift ideas! I’m so excited about the items I ordered! I’m determined to knock out my shopping early this year so that I can wrap everything early! The last few years I have been up way too late on Christmas Eve wrapping and then I’m so tired Christmas Day. Which is fine because I can just fall asleep during our annual Christmas day viewing of It’s a Wonderful Life BUT I love It’s a Wonderful Life and don’t want to sleep through it this year! First up.. Target Beauty Gift Sets! I love them and they are so good this year! I always buy my girls a few for Christmas and then pick up extras for their friends or for my friends. They are on sale today!

I put together a fun gift basket that would make an amazing gift for any tween/teen girl! Or young adult since Ellie is 20 and I know she would love this too! I love this bin with gold handles (perfect for storage in a bedroom or dorm). I filled it with a few of the fun gift sets and then added a Stanley, charm phone strap, makeup case, detangle  brush and this makeup headband. Just some fun ideas!

Holiday Sweaters

These holiday sweaters are also so much fun! I bought the red bow sweater and it was so comfy and cute and warm that I picked up another one for me and a couple for each of my girls for Christmas.

One of my favorite new finds this year are these Clean Skin Towels. I love using them at night when I wash my face! I dry my face with them after I use my cleanser and they pick up anything I missed and make my skin feel so smooth! Then I use the back side of the same towel to wipe off my bathroom counter. I can’t imagine my night time routine without them! I ordered a pack of 3 so I can give each of my girls a box too.

Lange Blow Drying Brush/Cyber Monday Amazon Picks

I recently ordered this blow drying brush (Christmas gift to me and my girls) and it’s on sale today! I thought we could try it and order another one or two if we each need one! My hair is usually too thick for blow drying brushes but my girls love them and this one looks a little more heavy duty than options we’ve tried in the past. I’ll keep you posted!

Colleen Rothschild is my go-to for skin care and after trying pretty much ALL of her products these are my absolute favorites that I use every day (all 30% off today!). The top two for me are the eye creams. I use this complete eye cream at night and then put on the tinted eye cream in the morning before my make-up. I can’t believe the different these two products make! I’ve run out of both before and always notice a difference when I’m not using them. They are game changers for eye darkness, lines and puffiness. I also love her vitamin C brightening serum and I put on the sheer renewal cream every morning. The extreme recovery cream is such a good moisturizer too! I especially love it in the winter when my skin is even more dry than normal. Also I forgot to take a picture but you know her quench and shine restorative hair mask is another staple for me! All great gift ideas!

Candle Lanterns

Happy Saturday! My stairs have a new addition that I’m so excited about!

Aren’t these lanterns dreamy!? No glass and they are lightweight. I love how simple and elegant they are.

I bought one set of 3 to try on the first few steps and loved them so much I ordered enough for the whole bottom half of the stairs. They are 3 different sizes so I put the small lanterns on the bottom steps, medium in the middle and then the largest lanterns at the top. The lanterns come with the candles and the candles flicker and look so realistic! They are just BEAUTIFUL.

They have a timer feature so I have them set to click on around 5:00 every evening and then they turn off 6 hours later. I’m in love with them!

I’ve never had anything lighting my stair case like this and just can’t get over how gorgeous it looks. This whole section of my house glows and makes me so happy at night. I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving! We had such a nice chill day together. I didn’t want it to end! Ad flies back Saturday so the party is winding down. I’m so happy that the girls are back in a couple of weeks or I would be majorly depressed! It has been the best having them home and the family together again. These cute tree drink dispensers were so fun with some lemonade and cranberries. Of course my fridge was stocked with Coke Zero and Diet Coke too. :)

I didn’t do a very good job snapping pics of the food but I caught this moment when Kole came downstairs and was sneaking some food quick which showed the party spread! He was hiding out upstairs to avoid all of the commotion.. ha. Maybe he thought the blanket would disguise him more and he wouldn’t have to chat with us all? Nice try bud.

This just made me laugh. My friend Katy left me a lovely little gift. Personal joke because the first time I thew this holiday party I had Katy make her Potato Soup (my personal favorite!) and she was getting it ready to serve and asked me if I had chicken stock. I gave her a blank stare so she asked for chicken broth which was followed by another blank stare. Apparently EVERY pantry has chicken broth in it.. other than mine. Ha! So now every year she leaves me a little gift in my pantry after the party. What would I do without her? Live on pretzels, popcorn and Coke Zero no doubt. Which sounds a little too familiar. ;)

I kept my mantel decor simple too and just combined and layered two different garlands (the same two I used in my kitchen!). Then I added my long time favorite birch trees and pine branches in a vase and put some of the same bow ornaments from my tree over my mirror. I just used simple command hooks to hold them on my shiplap! I might lower them a little closer to my mirror if I can summon up the energy to get my big ladder out again.. ha.

A few fun details on my coffee table. These wicker storage bins have saved my marriage! My husband likes the remote and computer chargers out and easy to find/use but it drives me crazy when they are out so I was always putting them in different spots and drawers and sending him on a fun little treasure hunt each night. He wasn’t loving the hunt and I wasn’t loving the mess of having things out so I finally moved these bins to the coffee table to keep everything tucked away in and easy for him to find each evening. Peace! Issue is solved and we lived happily ever after. ;)

We got this new couch over the summer and have really enjoyed it. It’s larger than our last sectional so I’m excited to use it through the holidays with kids home and more people over! I’m definitely still in that new couch phase where I watch food around it and try to be careful but the few times we have spilled everything has come right off (its a great performance fabric!) so I think we are safe to lounge and not worry.

I usually use linen napkins for my holiday party but decided to order some on Amazon and save myself another load of laundry this year.

I don’t regret that decision. :)

I decorated my dining room table the same other than I used my flameless candles in this space. I love clicking them all on with a little remote! I’m leaving these tables set for the next month so that we can easily host our friends and my kids’ friends. Tis the season for family and friends!

Ellie came over for most of the day too! She has class Monday and Tuesday and then we’ll get her back again for the rest of the week. It was the best day spending time with all 3 of them together! I’m a happy mom. :)

They are so beautiful! Really slim which I love because they are perfect for tight corners! The lights are stunning and the are such pretty trees I didn’t even want to decorate them. Instead of using the stands they came with I just put them in large black pots. Love the look!

Outlet Concealer

I can’t hide the cord here so I used an outlet concealer to disguise it as much as possible! This is a great solution when you want your plug/cord to look better OR to use when you have a console or nightstand table up next to a wall and don’t want a plug/cord pushing it out! It comes in different sizes.

One last tree in my dining room! I have the flocked version in this corner.. it’s magical! These black pots come in a set of 3 (this is the largest size) and they are on sale at the moment! You’ve seen them before on my porch. They move all over my house and always come in handy!

I hosted my annual Christmas party this week! I love having it early because December is nuts and gets booked so quickly! Plus I always have my house decorated early so why not!? It’s a fun way to kick off the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with my friends each year. I thought I’d share it again because it would make a great stocking stuffer or gift with a candle this holiday season. :)

Happy Saturday! Kicking off today’s Saturday 6 with some fun options for holiday pajamas! I recently shared these pjs options from Walmart so between these two posts you have lots of fun options at different price points. Nothing like holiday pj’s.. they make me so happy! This first pair is so cute. PJ Salvage pajamas are a little pricey but they are such a great fit and are crazy soft. I love the little snowflakes and skiers on this set! The hearts make them cute for February too so this is a set you could wear through the winter. Can we also talk about these fuzzy memory foam slippers!? I haven’t taken them off since I bought them! I have several pairs of Uggs but keep reaching for these. They are honestly so comfy. I bought a pair for each of my girls for Christmas!

Another cute winter option! I love this set because I like to sleep in short sleeves (long sleeves can get too hot in our neck of the woods!). This is the first year I have stored my wreaths this way and it saved so much space. These big bags fit around 8 wreaths inside each! Such an easy tree to set up! The whole thing from start to finish took me about 15 minutes.

The lights were going through all of their settings the whole time.. they are so bright and beautiful! I took these quick while I was setting it up just so you can see how the branches fall in place w/o needing to fluff them.

Ellie was over and snapped this pic laughing at me. I was so close to being able to put the top on but wasn’t quite tall enough! I almost tipped over right after she took this and had to get out a step stool.

5 – FRIENDSGIVING

My cute friend hosted a Friendsgiving party this week and her table setting was absolutely stunning. Sharing it to give you a few ideas if you are hosting a similar party or Thanksgiving this year!

Beautiful hostess! She made the turkey and we each brought a side and the food was SO delicious.

This is a pretty way to serve the turkey!

I especially loved the way she incorporated floating candles! Such a beautiful way to add ambiance.

It was a perfect night and I left feeling so grateful for these girls and all of the amazing friends in my life.

Sharing some holiday favorites from Wayfair today! They have so many fun things to make your home cozy for the holidays. I love their selection of holiday decor! I put together a few arrangements and I’m so excited about how they turned out. Christmas decor is too much fun. Have I mentioned before that I love it!? :) I’ve had my eye on this solid wood tray from Wayfair for a while now (you’ve most likely seen it in a collage or two!) so when it went on sale I didn’t hesitate to order it. I have to say that it’s absolutely beautiful in person! I love the shape and the stitching inside and the gorgeous rattan wrap on the outside.

I ordered these beautiful Norfolk pine branches (such a good deal on a set of 12 stems!) and layered six in the tray and then added 2 of these pretty faux cedar stems. Then I added a few gold ornaments on top and done!

Isn’t it pretty!? Perfect for a table centerpiece or a console, coffee or entry table! I’ll probably set this on the table behind our couch but that’s still up in the air because it looks good everywhere I set it! Bonus.. I still had more faux stems left to play with. :)

Another recent Wayfair favorite is this gorgeous modern vase! I couldn’t decided between white or black so I solved that problem by ordering them both. Problem solving is clearly my strong suit.

You’re welcome. ;) Aside from loving the shape and size of these gorgeous vases I’m also excited about how they go smaller at the top. That makes it easier to use less faux stems for a full look. I set the pine and cedar stems in each to try and love the look!
