Happy October friends! I can’t believe it’s finally here! Best time of the year. The kids and I were absolutely giddy this morning talking about the next three months. So much to enjoy and it goes by so quickly! We’re going to have to get strategic around here. Sharing a few pictures with you from my Better Homes and Gardens Photo Shoot (behind the scenes!). Almost a year ago I got a call from Karen who works for Meredith Publishing. She had stumbled on pictures of my home on-line and said she works with several magazines who might be interested in featuring some of my spaces.. especially my upstairs laundry room. She wanted to come and see the laundry room and “scout my house” – just check things out. I was so excited and of course I cleaned like a mad woman for a week before she came because I knew she would not only be looking at my house, but also inside drawers and cupboards. Yikes! She came and we got along famously and she took lots of pictures and then I didn’t hear much until a few months ago when she e-mailed to tell me that Better Homes and Gardens wanted to feature my kitchen and all of its organization in one of their Storage issues. My kitchen!? If anything I was expecting the laundry room. I was so surprised! And shocked. And thrilled. And stressed. And elated. And tired.
Because I wear myself out when I feel so many emotions at once. ;)

Hello friends! So this week has been slow on the blog but for good reason! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you might have seen this picture I recently shared. I spent the day with stylists and a photographer from Better Homes and Gardens! Still pinching myself that it actually happened. My kitchen and a lot of its organization is going to be featured in an upcoming Storage issue! I’m not sure when yet.. maybe next Spring? Of course I’ll let you all know the second I know when it’s coming out. :) Today was crazy but so much fun. A full day of styling, organizing and photography with the experts. My mouth hurts from smiling! I was definitely in my happy place. :) It’s a two day shoot so they are coming back tomorrow. Tomorrow will mostly be all about my pantry. Fun stuff going on in that space and I can’t believe I still haven’t shared it on the blog yet. I need to get on that before you all see it in the magazine first! ;)

Time to share another garage organization update with all of you. Garage organization take 2! You might remember in my first garage organization post I majorly purged half of our stuff and then semi organized everything we wanted to keep by placing it around the perimeter of our garage. We also reached out to a local garage cabinet store and spent some time figuring out how to best use this space and then designed some garage built-ins. Built-ins! Whenever I hear the word built-ins I feel instantly happy. You too? See… that’s why we all get along so well. :)

Hello hello friends! Outdoor pool bathroom! Let’s do this. :) A few weeks ago when I shared pictures of a summer party we hosted for my husband’s firm I mentioned our outdoor pool bathroom. Remember how my husband thought that because of that bathroom, nobody would go inside during the party and I was a crazy person for cleaning like a crazy person? We all know how that ended. ;) After that post I received a lot of requests to see our pool bathroom. Since I aim to please (and love my blog readers!) Happy weekend everyone! What a week! I had this post half way done and was planning on finishing it Thursday, until my 12 year old accidentally put her water bottle in her new backpack without the lid on tight right before dance and spilled the whole thing. All over everything in her bag! Her new binders, books, notepads, homework, etc. You guys it was SO much water! I felt awful for her. All of her new book covers she had spent hours decorating.. everything was ruined and she was of course in tears. SO! I spent half the evening drying papers and books with my blow dryer while my husband stayed up until midnight with her to get her mostly dry homework done.
Plus earlier that evening I hit an all time low and burned a frozen pizza. Just popped that baby in the oven and didn’t turn on the timer. I was running around helping kids with homework, cleaning, and getting ready to fly out the door for back to school night when I started to smell something not quite right..
That’s just a small indication of how our week went. Ha! School has begun! Thank goodness for a three day recovery weekend. And for fun favorites I have to share with you today! They are cheering me up immensely. :)

Let’s start with my favorite, shall we? I splurged on a new bag for Fall. The one I originally ordered from the Nordstrom sale sold out so fast. They sent me an e-mail a few weeks after the sale saying that it wasn’t coming. At first I was so bummed. Until I found this Rebecca Minkoff Satchel. LOVE! Definitely a splurge. Definitely worth it. I know I’ll use this for years.

Just like that.. our summer has come to an end. Well.. except for the fact that we still need to ride bikes and have a pillow fight. I take our summer to do list seriously and don’t stop until all items have been checked off.
So this next weekend will be busy. ;)
Before we move on with all things Fall on the blog (so excited for September!) I’m sharing some random pics I found on my camera from the past few months. My farewell to summer! I’m sad to see it end.

It’s that time, isn’t it!? Kids are heading back to school! Which means back to school organization time! My favorite. :) I know a lot of schools have started already. My kids start on Monday and like always, I have mixed emotions. Not quite ready for waking up early, packing lunches, homework and a jam packed schedule, but definitely excited for a bit more structure and routine around here. I also can’t wait to have a few quiet hours to myself again during the day! This mom needs to get on a better work schedule. Blogging from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 am each night (the only calm and quiet around here) can only be sustained for so long. :)

It’s that time! Kids are heading back to school. This is the last week of summer for my three kids so we are savoring our low key days a bit longer! Just like every year, we’ve been doing a few things all month to get ready for the new school year. After buying my kids new school clothes (you can see what my girls are wearing here and what my little buddy is wearing here) it was time for some major closet organization. Out with the old and in with the new! I just love a good closet clean out. :)
