Fashion Friday

sole-society-teal-clutch
Happy Friday friends!  Let’s talk fashion.  I have some CUTE things (and some great deals!) to share with you today.  Starting with my latest favorites.  Is this teal and green clutch not adorable!?  Love the colors, love the pattern, love that it’s only $35.  What!?  Yes.  I’m serious.  So cute and fun for summer.  (These pillows are from my master btw.. just waiting on a few things that have been backordered and then I’ll share progress!)

Fashion Friday – (graphic tees and summer fun)

striped-sweat-pants
Happy Friday friends!  Usually I’m pretty pumped for the weekend but with summer here, all of the days sort of blur together.  That can be a really good thing and a really bad thing. ;)  I don’t have a lot of outfits to show you because honestly this week I’ve pretty much gone back and forth from my swimsuit to these favorite striped sweat pants I shared in last week’s favorites/fashion post.  Back and forth.. back and forth.  Our first week of summer has been a relaxing one to say the least. :)

Summer Home Showcase (spruced up family room!)

Summer Home Tour Image
Today I’m sharing my family room spruced up for summer as part of a Summer Home Tour Showcase hosted by my sweet friend Kelley Nan.  So much fun!  If you are visiting from my friend Bree’s blog (Z Design at Home) welcome!  I’m so very happy you are here and hope you’ll put your feet up and stay a while.  :)

I’ve shared my family room many times before throughout the seasons and to be honest, not a lot has changed.  I go a bit crazy with Fall, Christmas and even Spring decor, but Summer?  That’s usually a season when I focus more on if it’s a pool day or a beach day and when I need to re-stock the popsicles. :)

My Summer Reading List!

my summer reading list
Tomorrow is the last day of school!  Ask me if I’m excited.

You’re all taking too long so I’ll just tell you.. I’m SO excited.  :)

Not long ago I shared my summer goals with you all and today I’m sharing my summer reading list!  Now before I share these books with you that I’ve ordered and am DYING to dive into, I have to warn you (even though you most likely already know) that I’m a total nerd.  I have this thing for organizing/time management books.  They are my all time favorite books to read!  My husband gets the biggest kick out of it because my favorite thing to do is to lounge by the pool doing nothing and read about how to be more productive.  Ha!  It is kind of funny when you think about it.  But I don’t care.  It’s my favorite. :)  So most of these books are about how to stay organized and manage your time.  I seriously can’t wait to read them all!

Life Lately

Well!  It has been a week since I posted last.  How is everyone doing?  :)  We are good.  Busy!  But the very best kind of busy.  There are so many things I’m dying to share with you all (oh my word.. I’ve been decorating and organizing up a storm around here!) but I need to record a few random pics from last week first.  It was a special week for our girls!

*Sidenote:  Be prepared for bad lighting.. all of these are quick cell phone pics!  And excuse the shameless bragging.  This proud mom just can’t help herself. ;)

Last weekend my sweet Addison turned 10 years old.  Can’t believe that!  My parents came to visit (and help!) because we had so much going on.  Ad is going to start playing an instrument next year and her grandpa surprised her by giving her his favorite saxophone.  (My dad is an amazing sax player and I grew up listening to his jazz.) :)

May Re-cap!

Oh my word.  It’s the end of May!  We all made it!  Still hanging on around here.  By a thread no doubt, but alive and kicking.  We have the rest of this week and one more until summer break and we are all so beyond ready.  This morning was brutal after the nice, long weekend.  Almost hilarious.  None of us wanted to wake up!  Then we were scrambling big time.  It’s like our brains have switched over to summer mode and there’s no going back. :)

Because life is so busy, especially during this time of year, I decided to do a quick month round-up of what happened on the blog during May.  I know I haven’t had much time for blog reading lately and I can’t wait to sit down in my pj’s and do some major catching up on my favorites in two weeks!   Seriously counting down.  If you’ve been on the go like we have and missed a post or two I’ll catch you up quick!  Then on to good things in June.  :)

{SIMPLE and PRETTY JEWELRY ORGANIZATION}

I kicked off the month by sharing my organized jewelry.  This vanity in my master bathroom has been a dream since I whipped it into shape!  I shared all the details in this post (including my favorite jewelry) and can’t wait to share a few more things in this space soon!

Friday Favorites and Fashion!

dooney-and-bourke-purse
Happy Friday everyone!  I have some fun favorites and clothes to share with you today!  We are actually going to start with a couple of my mom’s favorite things.  Since I shared pics from her Retirement Party I thought I’d show you a few of the fun gifts she got.  My mom’s birthday happened to land the day after the party so we were all celebrating Mother’s Day, her retirement and her birthday.  Time to spoil mom.  :)  A lot of her retirement gifts were so heartfelt.  The quilt, the cake, some plaques and personal signs (I need to take pics of it all next time!).  She also got a few fun things that are just SO my mom.  A few friends went in on this darling Dooney and Bourke purse for her.  I mentioned my mom loves yellow.  It was a reoccurring theme at her party!

My mom’s special day

QI1A1616cfw
Last weekend we spent in Utah celebrating my mom’s career in Education.  She is retiring after 35 years of teaching Elementary school and being an administrator over Title One.  Her friends and co-workers threw her an amazing Retirement Party (I had to share some pics!).  She wanted all of her kids and grandkids there and we wouldn’t have missed it!  Such a special day for our entire family.
