An organized fridge and Tomato Parmesan Chicken

real-paris
First of all.. thank you thank you to everyone who left Paris advice!  I read every comment (so many great tips!) and my husband and I have been trying to plan so many things you all suggested.  CAN.  NOT.  WAIT.  :)  Thank you!  organized-fridge
K.  About a month ago I gave my fridge a good clean out.  This is the before pic.  Obviously. :)  To be honest with you all, these pictures I’m about to share aren’t all that special or earth shattering.  In fact, I came close to just not posting them at all.  But then I thought about how for me, seeing pictures of a cleaned out space motivates me.  Even when the after isn’t anything special or earth shattering.  So maybe these pictures will motivate one of you to clean out your fridge?  And maybe you will feel better after you do.  And that will make happy.  So I will now proceed with mediocre material. ;)

Monday ramblings and a question for you!

{Full powder room post here}

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a nice Easter weekend!  Ours was great – a very full two days.  Get togethers with friends both Friday and Saturday night, gymnastics for the kids, Kole’s birthday party, church on Sunday and a nice long walk with my husband.  Now it’s suddenly Monday morning and I just got the kids off to school.  I’m sitting in a very quiet, messy house.  It’s cloudy and cool outside which feels so cozy and refreshing.  I have a lot to do, but I’m just sitting on my couch for the moment looking out the windows and enjoying the silence.  It doesn’t come around here often. :)

Kole’s room (the beginning!) and a special night

shiplap-wall-2
I have so many projects going on around my house right now my head is spinning.  But it’s a good spin. :)  My three main BIG priorities this year were to get our garage organized, my master bedroom decorated, and Kole’s bedroom decorated.  All three of those projects are in motion right now (yea!).  I’m also working on a spring table setting, multiple gallery walls, completely re-organizing my office, and I’m half way finished with my new system for storing kids’ school/art work.  Oh!  And it’s Kole’s birthday party this Saturday and Easter on Sunday.  Add every day life with my kids to the mix and I might be going just a tad crazy right now!  The funny thing is that I’m seriously itching to jump in and start organizing my closet.  I might start tomorrow morning.

Friday Fashion and Favorites

pb-striped-couch-throw
Friday is here!  YEA.  Thanks for the sweet comments on my recent Life Lately post.  Hearing from you all makes my day and I love feeling like this is a safe place to share a peek into my life.  The good and the hormonal. ;)  Speaking of sharing, I have some fun favorites for you all today!  I bought this black and white striped throw about a month ago and love it on my family room couch.  After I added more black to my office I decided to try and bring black into a few other areas of my house.

Life Lately

head-to-school
Is it Wednesday already!?  Thursday by the time you all read this.  What a week!  I keep thinking I’m going to have a slower week where I can “catch up” but I’m finally learning that no such week exists!  At least in the stage of life I’m currently in with my kids.  I was remembering today (while I was in my car for almost 6 hours straight driving kids to their various acivities) back when I was home with one baby searching for things to fill our days.  That was a hard stage for me, but right about now I wouldn’t mind re-visiting one of those weeks. ;)  Here are a few random phone pics of what we’ve been up to!  Kids are finally feeling better and back at school.  Having sick kids for over a week definitely makes you appreciate life when everyone is healthy and doing well!

Favorites at Anthro!

anthro-pic-with-el
Happy Thursday friends!  Excited for today’s post!  Ellie and I went shopping.  We had a good reason.  Not that we need a good reason, but this time we had one.

(a long time favorite quote of mine)  :)

El had worked hard to earn some money and knew what she wanted.  March is my birthday month and I knew what I wanted.  Not our best pic above, but we only had time to take one because we were busy hitting our favorite stores.  One of my all time favorites?  Anthropologie.  When I say that name do you immediately smell the Anthro smell?  If not, you need their candle.  :)

Garage Organization (take one!)

So I’m back.  :)  We are having a much better day so far.  Antibiotics are here and we are determined to get rid of all sickness.  Crossing my fingers that it skips me!  We all know that when mom goes down, the ship sinks fast. :)

If you remember my 2016 to-organize list one of my top priorities this year is to get our garage in order.  I titled this post “Garage Organization (take one!)” because there will be several posts in this series.  I’m getting this garage organized (REALLY organized) once and for all and I’m taking you all along on my journey!

I wish I had more pictures of just how messy my garage has been for the past two years since we moved into our new house.  Quite the dumping ground!  The first thing I did was move our cars out of the garage and pull everything into the center.   I swept the sides and the perimeter of the garage floor and then went through each item deciding what to keep and what to send packing.  I took the picture above after I had gone through about half of our stuff.

Our weekend.. real life

sick-day-2
Happy Monday friends!  We’ve had a weekend of pj’s and couch time with sick kids.  My kitchen is a mess, my bedroom is a mess and there is laundry piled so high I don’t want to even go there.  El snapped this picture with her phone today.. she’s actually feeling fine.  My two other little sidekicks shown here.. not so much.  Poor things.  Ad is doing much better but Kole will be home with me tomorrow and we are heading to the dr. first thing!  Never fun when kids are sick.  The upside is that we had a major Star Wars marathon (I think it was part of the love story when this picture was taken – those are the parts Ad and I perk up during) and I was able to get a new post ready for you.  It will be coming sometime on Monday so pop back in if you have time!  Tonight I’m off to bed.  I think I slept a total of 4 hours this weekend and this mom needs some rest!  Along with a fairy to help my sick kids sleep through the night and then magically whip my house back into shape.

Home again! (Kauai)

kauai-resort
Hi friends!  We are back.  Had such a great trip to Kauai.  I took too many pics and will have to share more at some point, but after today’s travel and recovery (unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, school prep, etc.) I don’t have the energy to go through them all right now. :)  Here are just a few quick snap shots I got with my phone.  Above was our home for the week!  We have stayed here before and love it.  I’m hoping to do a post at some point on fun things to do in Kauai and Maui and in those posts I’ll share more details about where we always stay.
