Christmas Formal Living Room (Decked and Styled Home Tour)

Annddd I’m back. :) Hi everyone! I’m so excited about today’s post! I’m joining some of my close friends for the Decked and Styled Home Tour and you are all in for a treat! Every one of the girls in this tour today have beautiful homes and trust me when I say their posts won’t disappoint!

This is such a fun group. I feel so lucky to call each of these girls close, personal friends. Their hearts are as beautiful as their homes! If you are popping over from Megan’s blog “Honey We’re Home” hello and welcome! I love Megan and am so happy to have you here! I also love decorating for Christmas and couldn’t help spreading a bit of Christmas cheer throughout most of the rooms in my house. Yesterday I shared our powder bathroom Christmas decor along with a link to the rest of the rooms I’ve shared so far. Today I’m sharing what might be my very favorite room decked for the holidays this year! My formal living room. I went a little picture crazy so I’ll try to keep the rambling to a minimum (not always easy for me as most of you know, but I promise to try). :)

When you walk in our front door and through our entry this is the room that greets you. When my husband and I were designing our home one of the first things I told my architect was that I did NOT want a formal living room.

I’m so grateful he didn’t listen to me! ;) Because of the way our floor plan turned out this room was going to be our formal dining room at one point. I didn’t love that so we ended up pushing out my front porch and moving the dining room in its place leaving me with a formal living room after all. I got over it quickly when I started designing this space and adding french doors, built-ins and white molding galore. Now this room is one of my favorites! Especially at Christmas time. :)

Christmas Powder Bathroom (12 Days of Holiday Homes)

Happy Monday friends! I’m so excited to be wrapping up the 12 Days of Holiday Homes tour hosted by Jenny of Evolution of Style and Amy & Christy of 11 Magnolia Lane. Winter Fashion and a Pajama Party!

Christmas parties are in full swing! My favorite so far? My pajama party. It was more like a veg and chat session with a few close friends than a party. :) We were all texting a few weeks ago about everything we all had to do.. how busy this month gets and how all we really want to do is hang out in our pjs eating yummy holiday food and watching Christmas movies by the tree. So I said let’s do it! Come over in your pj’s and we’ll just RELAX. Eat dinner and treats, watch a movie and of course exchange more pajamas. Because pajamas are the happiest gift.

In my book anyway. :)

I of course wore my favorite PJ Salvage pajamas! The Graphic Henley top and Polar Fleece lounge pants. Loving these so much! I get excited to put them on every evening. (My Ugg socks sold out so crazy fast! There are a couple of cute styles left that are more like socks than houseshoe socks.)

Kitchen Christmas Decor!

Alright friends! The Christmas marathon continues! I haven’t slept much this week and a shower is sounding pretty good right about now.. but #priorities. I’m having so much fun sharing my holiday decor with all of you! Up on the agenda today.. the kitchen! I kept some of my kitchen Christmas decor the same as last year, but also added a few simple things. I took a lot of pictures so I’ll let them do most of the talking and try to not ramble on like I often do. You’re definitely hearing enough from me this week! ;)

Home for the Holidays: Tree Classics’ Christmas Housewalk!

So excited to be partnering with Tree Classics for today’s post! I was asked to be part of their Christmas Housewalk and to describe my ideal Christmas. My kids and I talk about this all the time! While we love Christmas Day, it’s more about the months leading up to Christmas for us. Of course we love Christmas music, coming up with the perfect gifts for loved ones, and the decorating.. we really love the decorating around here. :) But more than anything we just love the feeling in the air this time of year! The feeling of Christ’s endless love for each and every one of us. A time to focus on others and to recognize and appreciate all we have in our lives. A perfect Christmas for me is spending the months leading up to that special day making memories with my family, giving to others, and noticing and appreciating all of life’s blessings. Big and small. Throw in a cozy pair of pajamas and It’s a Wonderful Life and I’m a happy girl. ;)

I’m so excited to show you how I’ve decorated our mudroom for the holidays! Tree Classics let us pick out a tree to feature and I chose their Oregonian Slim Christmas Tree. I was originally thinking of it for another spot in my house, but when it came and I assembled it I decided on a whim to try it in my mudroom in this space between our black dutch door off of our porch and our little mudroom closet. Perfect fit! It was like it had found its home. :) I love skinny trees. I always have! They are fun to put in unexpected places where space it at a premium and they are easy to decorate! It doesn’t take much to make them look full and festive. This tree is absolutely darling. So easy to set up and I love the look of the branches.

Time for the Holiday Home Showcase! Although I have a confession to make first. For me this is the Holiday Room Showcase! Ha! I’m spreading my decor out one room at a time this December. I take too many pictures to fit a whole house tour into one post and thought I’d save myself a little sanity by sharing one room at a time. Not much mind you.. there’s still a regular amount of insanity going on around here.. but I managed to salvage a little. ;)

Fashion Friday.. on Saturday

Happy weekend friends! And happy December! It’s finally here. :) Love this month! It’s crazy and busy, but full of so many good things. The next two weeks my blog will be full of Christmas decor so my Fashion Friday posts are going to be popping up over the weekend. I’m thinking next year my “Fashion Friday” posts need to change to “Fashion whenever I get to it” posts. It’s rare they go live on Fridays! But that’s talk for another day.

Today I’m sharing a few recent favorites from Nordstrom! My mom took this picture while we were at her house in Utah over Thanksgiving. The trees with the sun shining through are just beautiful! Her whole street looked like it was straight out of a story book. I love going to Utah in the Fall. It’s the only time of year I don’t want to live in San Diego! I want to be one with the cool, crisp air and the changing leaves. Then when the cool, crisp air turns to frost and just plain cold air, I want to go back home to San Diego. :) K.. for the love of cardigans! I have an obsession with them at the moment. You all know how much I have loved this open front cardigan. (Almost identical styles/color options are here and here.) I’ve been wearing it at least once a week since I bought it.

Christmas Tablescape – Holiday Entertaining Tour!

Happy Friday friends! What a week! I have been so busy with my kids’ activities and trying to wrap up Christmas decorating and get pictures of everything. I’m more than ready for a weekend! Before we get this party started I just have to say that it was so fun hearing from so many of you for my planner giveaway (still one last day to enter!). I loved hearing a little about some of you and seeing where you are all from. ALL over! It’s just so cool. We all live so far apart but are connected in our love for decor or organizing or fashion or family.. whatever you come to my blog for! We’re connected and I love that. It’s a small world after all. My new planner and a fun giveaway!

Truth. My office does not look like this right now. Currently it is half way decorated for Christmas and full of piles of mail/papers I need to sort through, presents that are half way wrapped and projects that are half way finished. It will be a Christmas miracle if I can get it cleaned up again in time to share my Christmas decor in this room with you all!

But that’s a story for another day. :) Today I’m so excited to be sharing a favorite shop with you and more details on my new planner I recently shared in my Favorite Things post that I’m so excited about! I blog in two places.. my couch in the evening and at this spot in my office during the day. I cleaned things up for these pictures the last time I took them, but usually I have two things out on this desk. My laptop and my planner. I use my iphone to keep track of our crazy daily schedule, but I LOVE having a traditional paper planner with me at all times to keep track of my blog schedule, daily to-do’s, notes, etc.

Christmas signs and Cyber sales

It’s about that time friends. Time for FUN mail. Isn’t getting the mail in December the best!? Whether it’s Christmas decor I’ve ordered for our home, gifts being delivered that I’ve ordered for others on-line, or Christmas cards from loved ones, I can hardly wait for the mail to arrive this time of year. Want to see some fun mail I just got this weekend!?

You all know how I feel about wooden signs. Aside from loving the look/style of them, I think they are such a fun way to personalize your home. Plus I love supporting small businesses! Here is a peak at my office decor (oh yes.. we are decking ALL the halls around here this year). :) My Rudolph sign came in the mail and I’m so excited about it! I fell in love with this sign the second I found it on etsy. It’s from a shop called This Hand Painted Home. I reached out to Taylor about this sign and she is an absolute sweetheart. She has so many fun Christmas signs in her shop! I wasn’t sure where this would go when I ordered it, I just knew I had to find a spot for it somewhere. It looked so cute and festive everywhere I put it, but this spot in my office won. It just makes me smile every time I walk in this room! Plus it was a big hit with my kids. Huge Rudolph fans around here. :)
